For most iPhone 16 shoppers moving to Android, start with three phones: Samsung Galaxy S25, Google Pixel 9 Pro and OnePlus 13. The Galaxy S25 is the safest all-round choice, Pixel 9 Pro is strongest for point-and-shoot photography and a clean Google interface, and OnePlus 13 offers the most clearly documented battery and charging advantage.

Your best choice depends less on a single specification than on how you use a phone. Camera processing, size, software habits, charging speed, repair access, carrier support and the services you already use can matter more than megapixel counts or benchmark claims. Regional prices, stock, modem performance, warranty terms and carrier bands must be checked in your country before buying.

Quick verdict: which Android is closest to the iPhone 16?

Phone Best for Main reason to choose it Important qualification
Samsung Galaxy S25 Most people Balanced flagship hardware, versatile cameras, polished software and a broad Samsung ecosystem in a compact form Confirm local price, storage options, repair access and update terms
Google Pixel 9 Pro Still photography and Google services Computational photography, Google integration and a relatively clean Android interface Check regional availability, modem behavior, repair options and support terms
OnePlus 13 Battery life, charging and large-screen performance 6,000mAh battery, high-rate wired and wireless charging, Snapdragon 8 Elite and a 6.82-inch high-resolution display Charging speed, adapter availability, bands and warranty service vary by market

TechRadar’s coverage of the 2025 Android flagships places these models together as high-end phones combining strong performance, AI features and capable photography. That is a useful starting point, but “best” changes with your priorities.

How the three phones compare with an iPhone 16

The table separates published specifications from areas that are primarily preference-based or dependent on your country. A missing figure means it was not stated in the published figures considered here, not that the phone lacks the feature.

Samsung Galaxy S25: the safest all-round switch

Choose the Galaxy S25 if you want an Android phone that balances size, cameras, software polish and accessory availability rather than maximizing one specification. It is the closest fit for an iPhone 16 owner who wants a compact flagship and expects a mature hardware ecosystem around the phone.

Why it is a strong iPhone 16 alternative

  • Compact handling: Its compact flagship form is a better transition for people accustomed to a smaller phone than the large OnePlus 13.
  • Camera flexibility: Samsung’s setup is designed to cover more than a single everyday focal length. The practical question is whether you prefer Samsung’s color and processing choices to Apple’s, not which phone has the longer specification sheet.
  • Ecosystem depth: Samsung phones work naturally with the company’s tablets, watches, earbuds, Windows integrations and account services. That is useful if you already own compatible accessories.
  • Polished interface: Samsung’s Android software offers extensive controls and customization. Former iPhone users should expect more menus and options than on iOS, but also more control over defaults, launchers and multitasking.

What to verify before buying

Compare the local Galaxy S25 price with the base iPhone 16 rather than using a US launch price or a temporary promotion. Check storage configuration, eSIM and physical-SIM support, 5G bands, water-resistance certification, repair locations and the exact software-support promise for your region. Those details determine ownership value and are not established universally by the model name alone.

Google Pixel 9 Pro: the camera-first choice

The Pixel 9 Pro is the best fit when your priority is taking a photo quickly and getting a pleasing result with little manual work. Google’s computational photography can influence exposure, skin tones, detail, night scenes and dynamic range more than a headline megapixel number.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Why choose Pixel

  • Point-and-shoot results: Pixel’s appeal is the processing pipeline: image capture, exposure decisions and post-processing are designed to work together automatically.
  • Google services: Gmail, Photos, Assistant-style features, Maps and other Google services feel native rather than bolted on.
  • Cleaner Android: The interface is relatively close to Google’s own Android design, with fewer Samsung-specific layers and applications.
  • Useful AI tools: AI editing and organization features can be valuable, but availability may vary by country, language, account and software release.

Trade-offs for an iPhone 16 owner

Do not assume that a Pixel will behave identically to an iPhone on cellular networks, emergency calling, accessories or repair. Verify modem performance in your local network, supported carrier bands, warranty coverage and the availability of authorized repairs. If you rely on Apple-specific services or accessories, plan replacements rather than expecting Android compatibility.

OnePlus 13: the hardware-and-battery choice

Choose the OnePlus 13 when battery capacity, charging speed, a large high-resolution screen and flagship processor performance matter more than compact size. OnePlus identifies the device as running OxygenOS 15 based on Android 15 and lists the following core hardware:

Specification Published figure Qualification
Display 6.82-inch, 3168×1440, 1–120Hz Refresh rate is variable; actual behavior depends on content and settings
Processor Snapdragon 8 Elite Real-world speed and battery use depend on software and workload
Memory and storage 12GB/16GB RAM; 256GB/512GB storage Configuration availability varies by market
Battery 6,000mAh Capacity is a specification, not an independent runtime test
Wired charging 80W SUPERVOOC listed; up to 100W using the OnePlus SUPERVOOC 100W Dual Ports Power Adapter Maximum rate requires the specified adapter and suitable conditions
Wireless charging 50W AIRVOOC Use a compatible AIRVOOC charger for the listed capability
Rear cameras 50MP wide, 50MP 3x telephoto, 50MP ultrawide Image quality remains a processing and lighting question
Video 8K recording support Confirm frame-rate, stabilization and storage options in the local software build

Who should buy it

  • People who regularly finish the day with low battery and can benefit from a large-capacity cell.
  • Users who value a large canvas for reading, gaming, maps or video.
  • Buyers who want Snapdragon 8 Elite-class hardware and substantial RAM or storage configurations.
  • Anyone willing to carry or purchase a compatible high-power charger instead of relying on an old USB-C adapter.

What the numbers do not prove

A 6,000mAh battery does not guarantee a particular number of hours, and 100W does not mean every charging session runs at 100W. Temperature, battery level, cable, adapter, regional limits and simultaneous use all affect charging. Treat the published figures as capability claims, not as a promise of measured runtime or a universal charge time.

Camera choice: processing versus specifications

If you want the closest alternative to the iPhone 16 camera experience, decide what “close” means. Pixel is the natural choice for automatic still-photo processing. Galaxy is the safer choice if you want a versatile flagship camera system integrated with a broad device ecosystem. OnePlus offers three 50MP rear cameras and 8K recording support, making the hardware specification unusually clear, but that does not by itself establish better color, autofocus or video stabilization.

For still photos

Pixel’s computational approach can matter more than sensor resolution when you photograph people, pets, backlit scenes or night subjects. Samsung’s processing and camera controls appeal to users who want more options and a distinctive look. OnePlus should be considered when you value the combination of wide, 3x telephoto and ultrawide coverage and are satisfied with OxygenOS.

For video

Compare stabilization, exposure transitions, microphone behavior, HDR compatibility, frame-rate choices and editing-app support. The OnePlus 13’s listed 8K mode is useful only if you have enough storage and a workflow that can handle large files. Published specifications for Galaxy S25 and Pixel 9 Pro in this comparison do not establish a directly comparable maximum recording mode.

Screen size and everyday handling

The Galaxy S25 is the most straightforward recommendation for one-handed use because it is positioned as a compact flagship. The OnePlus 13’s 6.82-inch panel is better for split-screen work, games and media, but it is physically more demanding in a pocket and while typing. Pixel 9 Pro sits between those priorities in this shortlist, although its exact dimensions and weight should be checked for your region’s model.

A 1–120Hz panel can feel smooth while reducing refresh rate when content is static, but the setting does not guarantee that every application runs at 120Hz. Screen size, brightness, glare, curved-edge behavior and touch response are worth checking in person if possible.

Performance, AI and software support

All three are positioned as current Android flagships with high-end performance and AI features. Avoid choosing solely from a processor name: app optimization, heat management, modem behavior and software updates shape daily performance.

Interface and migration

  • Galaxy S25: More customization and Samsung-specific features, with the strongest case if you already use Samsung hardware.
  • Pixel 9 Pro: A relatively clean Google interface and the least disruptive choice for people who prefer Google’s default design.
  • OnePlus 13: OxygenOS 15 based on Android 15, with a performance-oriented hardware profile and its own settings and defaults.

Updates and AI

Confirm the exact update duration, security-patch schedule and AI-feature eligibility in the country where you will buy. Release-region differences, language support, account requirements and future software changes can make a feature listed at launch unavailable to every user. The model names alone do not establish a universal support promise.

Switching from iPhone: a practical checklist

  1. Audit your dependencies. List passwords, two-factor authentication, photos, notes, calendars, messaging groups, subscriptions, wearables, car integration and accessories before ordering.
  2. Check network compatibility. Compare the exact model number with your carrier’s supported 4G, 5G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi calling and eSIM requirements.
  3. Back up your data. Keep an encrypted iPhone backup and export anything that is stored only in an app or local account.
  4. Move authentication first. Transfer authenticator accounts, recovery codes and passkeys before erasing the iPhone. Keep the old phone until every account has been tested.
  5. Transfer photos and messages. Use the Android setup transfer process where supported, then confirm recent conversations, contacts and full-resolution photos.
  6. Turn off iMessage and FaceTime. Deactivate them before removing the SIM or eSIM so messages are not still routed to Apple’s services.
  7. Recreate payments and health connections. Add cards to the Android wallet, reconnect your car and earbuds, and verify health data separately because not every Apple data type transfers.
  8. Test before wiping. Make calls, send texts, receive verification codes, test camera backups and check battery behavior for several days.

Price, warranty and repair: what to check locally

No current street prices are established here, and launch prices or promotions can change quickly. Compare the final checkout total, including tax, shipping, required charger and trade-in conditions. A phone that appears cheaper can cost more if the correct fast charger or an extended warranty is required.

  • Confirm whether the seller is authorized and whether the warranty is valid in your country.
  • Check the nearest repair locations, screen-replacement process and expected turnaround.
  • Verify storage, RAM, SIM configuration, modem bands and water-resistance certification for the exact regional model.
  • Read return rules for imported devices; cross-border warranty service may not apply.
  • Price a compatible USB-C/SUPERVOOC charger, protective case and screen protector before comparing totals.
