Yes—the 512GB Galaxy S25 Ultra remains one of the best large Android phones you can buy. It combines a 6.9-inch display, long battery life, an S Pen, and one of the most versatile camera systems in a current flagship. In the United States, Samsung lists the unlocked 512GB model at $1,419.99 before trade-in, so the value depends heavily on the live promotion and whether a discounted device is new or renewed.
What the 512GB Galaxy S25 Ultra costs
Samsung Electronics America lists the unlocked 512GB Galaxy S25 Ultra at $1,419.99 on its US store, with a trade-in offer shown at up to $540. That makes the potential effective price as low as $879.99 only for a qualifying maximum-value trade-in; the actual credit depends on the phone you submit and Samsung’s current terms.
Older promotions show why the phrase “at this discount” needs a date and condition attached. TechRadar reported a Samsung promotion on September 22, 2025, that reduced the 512GB phone to $1,049 without trade-in through a free-storage-upgrade and discount combination. Tom’s Guide recorded an Amazon Black Friday listing on November 25, 2025, at $1,019, or 28% off. Slickdeals recorded an Amazon renewed unlocked 512GB listing at $749.95 on September 15, 2026.

Those are historical US-dollar benchmarks, not a guaranteed price today. Before ordering, check the seller, condition, color, warranty, trade-in rules, financing terms, and whether the advertised storage upgrade is still active. Compare every sale against Samsung’s $1,419.99 list price rather than treating a percentage-off label as proof of value.

The hardware is aimed at people who want a very large screen, high-end performance, long endurance, and camera flexibility rather than a compact phone. The 200MP main camera handles detailed everyday shots, while the dedicated 3x and 5x telephoto cameras provide useful framing options for portraits, travel, and distant subjects. The 50MP ultrawide is suited to landscapes, architecture, and group photos.
Is 512GB enough, or should you buy 1TB?
Samsung offers the S25 Ultra in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB capacities. The 512GB version is the middle option and is the practical choice for many buyers who shoot high-resolution photos and video, download games, or keep media offline. It provides substantially more working room than 256GB without paying for the maximum capacity.

Choose 512GB if
- You take frequent high-resolution photos or 4K video but regularly back up to a computer or cloud service.
- You install large games and keep a substantial offline music or video library.
- You want a long-term phone but do not routinely fill several hundred gigabytes.
Choose 1TB if
- You record and retain large amounts of high-resolution video on the phone.
- You use the device as your primary offline media and work storage.
- You prefer maximum headroom and do not want to manage storage over several years.
Because the phone’s storage is fixed, estimate your current usage and expected camera recording before buying. A heavily discounted 512GB model is usually a better value than a full-price 1TB model unless you know you need the extra capacity.

No. Samsung’s US purchase listing states: “Galaxy S25 Ultra does not include a charger.” The box therefore should not be treated as a complete charging setup. Budget for a compatible USB-C Power Delivery charger if you do not already have one. The phone supports up to 45W wired charging, but the charger must support the appropriate USB-C PD standard to reach its fastest supported rate.

New, renewed, and carrier-financed purchases are not equivalent
A new unlocked phone gives you the clearest ownership terms and the freedom to use a compatible US carrier. A renewed listing can be dramatically cheaper, as the $749.95 September 2026 example demonstrates, but condition, battery health, included accessories, return rights, and warranty can differ. Confirm that “renewed” is stated explicitly rather than assuming a low price is for a factory-new device.
Carrier financing may lower the upfront payment, but calculate the total installment cost, required service period, activation rules, and any bill-credit schedule. A trade-in promotion can also make a higher list price cheaper than an apparently larger cash discount, but only when you qualify for the advertised credit and keep the required line active.

Who should buy it—and who should wait
It is a strong fit for
- Users who want the largest available Galaxy screen and an integrated S Pen.
- Mobile photographers who need both wide and multiple optical-telephoto perspectives.
- People seeking a high-capacity battery and flagship performance in one phone.
- Buyers who can obtain the 512GB model near the documented $1,019–$1,049 promotional range, or lower after a legitimate trade-in.
Consider another option if
- You want a small, light phone; the 6.9-inch design is intentionally large.
- You expect a charger in the retail box.
- You do not use the S Pen or need the advanced camera system and would rather spend less on a simpler model.
- The only attractive listing is renewed but lacks clear seller, warranty, condition, or return information.
How to check a discount before you buy
- Confirm that the listing is for the unlocked 512GB US model, not 256GB, 1TB, a carrier variant, or a different regional version.
- Identify whether the phone is new, open-box, or renewed, and read the warranty and return policy.
- Compare the cash price with Samsung’s $1,419.99 list price and calculate any trade-in credit separately.
- Check whether the color, seller, financing plan, or activation requirement changes the advertised price.
- Add the cost of a USB-C charger and any essential case or screen protection to your budget.
The Bottom Line
The 512GB Galaxy S25 Ultra is still an excellent buy when a verified US promotion brings a new unlocked unit close to $1,019–$1,049, or when a qualifying trade-in materially reduces Samsung’s $1,419.99 price. Verify condition and seller details on cheaper renewed listings, and remember to budget for a charger.
