The best wireless earbuds depend on your phone, how you listen, and what you need most: noise cancellation, a secure workout fit, long battery life, or sound quality. This 2026 shortlist brings together 11 models highlighted by SoundGuys, WIRED, or Tom’s Guide, with each pick tied to a specific use case rather than presented as a universal winner. The list is not a head-to-head test, and comfort is personal; try a pair when possible and check its return policy.
How to choose from this list
Start with phone compatibility. Some earbuds offer their most convenient features within a particular manufacturer’s ecosystem; for example, SoundGuys says AirPods lose much of their special value on Android, while WIRED positions the Galaxy Buds4 Pro as a particularly good fit for Samsung users. Then weigh sound, active noise cancellation (ANC), fit, battery life with ANC, call quality, water resistance, controls, and app support separately. A strong result in one area does not make a model best in all the others.
Comfort cannot be established from specifications or a reviewer’s fit alone. Ear-tip sizes, shape, and stability matter, so test the fit if you can. Check current stock, price, exact model, and device-specific feature support before buying; retailer prices and availability change.
Which wireless earbuds are worth considering in 2026?
These picks reflect the use cases identified by the cited review publishers. SoundGuys says it has tested more than 300 pairs and describes controlled frequency-response, noise-attenuation, battery, sound-quality, and microphone assessment using a B&K 5128 acoustic test head. The results below are those publishers’ assessments, not tests conducted for this article.
#1 Best Overall
- JBL Deep Bass Sound: Get the most from your mixes with high-quality audio from secure, reliable earbuds with 8mm drivers featuring JBL Deep Bass Sound
- Comfortable fit: The ergonomic, stick-closed design of the JBL Vibe Beam fits so comfortably you may forget you're wearing them. The closed design excludes external sounds, enhancing the bass performance
- Up to 32 (8h + 24h) hours of battery life and speed charging: With 8 hours of battery life in the earbuds and 24 in the case, the JBL Vibe Beam provide all-day audio. When you need more power, you can speed charge an extra two hours in just 10 minutes.
- Hands-free calls with VoiceAware: When you're making hands-free stereo calls on the go, VoiceAware lets you balance how much of your own voice you hear while talking with others
- Water and dust resistant: From the beach to the bike trail, the IP54-certified earbuds and IPX2 charging case are water and dust resistant for all-day experiences
1. Sony WF-1000XM6: a strong all-around flagship
SoundGuys names the WF-1000XM6 its best overall pick, citing its measured sound, ANC, microphone, and battery results. In SoundGuys’ assessment, it recorded an average 88% noise reduction across frequencies and a 4.8/5 MDAQS sound-quality score. Those are that publisher’s test results, not a guarantee of the same experience for every listener. Consider it if you want a premium all-rounder and do not need a particular phone ecosystem to be the deciding factor.
2. Apple AirPods Pro 3: best suited to iPhone users
WIRED names AirPods Pro 3 its best earbuds for iPhone. Apple’s product page, accessed October 7, 2026, claims they remove up to twice as much unwanted noise as AirPods Pro 2 and up to four times as much as the original AirPods Pro. Those comparisons are Apple’s claims, not independent test results. Android users should consider whether they will benefit from the AirPods’ ecosystem-specific conveniences before choosing them.

3. Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro: a Samsung-ecosystem pick
WIRED names the Galaxy Buds4 Pro its best choice for Samsung phones and reports good ANC. WIRED lists six hours of ANC battery life in its specifications. That makes them a natural option to investigate if you use a Samsung phone or watch; check which features work with your specific device before purchase.
4. Google Pixel Buds Pro 2: for Pixel and other Android users
WIRED highlights the Pixel Buds Pro 2 for comfort and battery life, reporting eight hours with ANC and 30 hours with the charging case. Google’s product page describes an adjustable stabilizer and says the design draws on 45 million ear data points; that number is Google’s design statement, not an independent comfort measurement. Confirm that the features you want are supported by your Android device.
Rank #3

- Long Playtime, Fast Charging: Get 10 hours of battery life on a single charge with a case that extends it to 30 hours. If P20i true wireless earbuds are low on power, a quick 10-minute charge will give you 2 hours of playtime.

5. Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen): for noise cancellation
WIRED names the QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen) its best earbuds for noise cancellation and also highlights hear-through and spatial features. Bose lists up to six hours of battery life on its official product page, accessed October 7, 2026. WIRED notes an IPX4 rating, which is lower than some competitors’ ratings; consider that distinction if water resistance is a priority.
6. Google Pixel Buds 2a: a lower-cost Android daily option
WIRED highlights the Pixel Buds 2a for comfort and useful features. Its page lists seven hours of battery life with ANC, 20 hours with the case, and an IP54 rating, and says the case does not support wireless charging. Consider this option if you want a more affordable everyday pair and those trade-offs fit your needs.
Rank #4

And you can track down your AirPods and Charging Case with the Find My app.*
7. Beats Powerbeats Pro 2: for a secure workout fit
WIRED and Tom’s Guide discuss the Powerbeats Pro 2’s ear hooks as useful for workouts. Tom’s Guide reports a claimed 10 hours per charge and notes that the earbuds lack multipoint, the ability to maintain connections with two devices at once. The hooks may help keep the earbuds secure during exercise, but they do not establish that the fit will suit every ear.
8. EarFun Air Pro 4+: a feature-rich option under $100 in SoundGuys’ guide
SoundGuys lists the Air Pro 4+ as a feature-rich option under $100 in its guide and reports Bluetooth 6.0, aptX Lossless, and 8.7 hours measured per charge. The measured battery figure is SoundGuys’ result, not a manufacturer guarantee. Check the current listing and whether your phone supports the codec features you want.

9. CMF Buds 2 Plus: a budget pick with strong SoundGuys test results
SoundGuys reports a 4.8/5 MDAQS sound-quality score and 83% average ANC reduction for the CMF Buds 2 Plus. The sound score matches SoundGuys’ reported score for the Sony WF-1000XM6, but that does not make the two products equivalent in fit, features, or overall performance. Treat both figures as SoundGuys test results, not promises of your personal listening experience.
10. Bowers & Wilkins Pi8: for premium sound-quality comparisons
SoundGuys identifies the Pi8 as a premium pick and reports a 4.9/5 MDAQS sound-quality score and 6.5 hours per charge. Its premium positioning and shorter reported endurance are trade-offs to consider if you are comparing it with other high-end models. The score is SoundGuys’ assessment, not a universal preference ranking.
11. Technics EAH-AZ100: another high-end model to investigate
SoundGuys lists the EAH-AZ100 as a notable mention. The available review information does not establish enough detailed specifications here to make a strong claim about how it compares with the other picks. What to check before you buy
- Exact model: Confirm the generation and full model name; similar names can refer to different products.
- Phone support: Verify compatibility for the features you care about, including ecosystem conveniences and codec support.
- Fit and return terms: Check the included ear-tip sizes and whether you can return the earbuds if they do not feel secure or comfortable.
- Battery expectations: Compare figures only with their conditions in mind. In particular, figures measured by a reviewer and manufacturer “up to” claims are different kinds of evidence.
- Price and availability: Check the current listing, stock, and price rather than relying on a price shown in an older review.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
