Terraria secret seeds are special world-generation codes. Enter one while creating a new world and Terraria can change the map, progression, hazards, loot, survival rules, or overall difficulty. You still choose the world size, normal difficulty, and evil biome, but the secret seed adds another ruleset on top. The exact result depends on your Terraria version and platform, so record both when you share a seed.
Terraria 1.4.5 launched on January 27, 2026, for PC, consoles, and mobile, except the separate China Mobile edition. Desktop 1.4.5.4 added a Secret Seed menu that lets you toggle unlocked seeds instead of typing every code. Older versions and some platform editions may not show that menu or support newer modifiers.

What a Terraria secret seed changes
A normal Terraria seed controls the random values used to build a world. A secret seed goes further: its text or number is recognized as a special instruction during world generation. Depending on the seed, the instruction may alter terrain, biome placement, structures, enemy behavior, loot, environmental hazards, progression order, or survival mechanics.
Secret seeds are selected when you create a world. They are not a setting you can safely add to an existing save. If you want to try one, create a separate world and leave your established character and main world unchanged.
#1 Best Overall
- Build up a hospital from nothing to a masterpiece as you design the most beautiful – or functional – healthcare operation in the whole of Two Point County.
- Optimise your hospital design to increase patient (and cash) flow, arranging corridors, rooms and waiting areas to your exact specifications.
- Expand your hospital to multiple buildings as you look to get as many patients through the door as possible.
- Place decorative and functional items around your hospital to improve its prestige, lower patient boredom, increase happiness and keep those end of year awards flowing in.
- Features two great expansions, 21 hospitals and 119 very unusual illnesses!
The Official Terraria Wiki describes the entered code as being processed through a non-reversible function, specifically a cryptographic hash function. In practical terms, Terraria uses the text you enter to derive world-generation values; there is no reliable way to decode a finished world back into a unique original phrase. A typo, different capitalization, or different game build can therefore produce a different result or fail to activate the intended rules.
Check your version and platform first
Secret-seed behavior is version-sensitive. Terraria 1.4.5 reached PC, console, and mobile on January 27, 2026, but the bespoke China Mobile edition was excluded from that rollout. Subsequent hotfixes can change which modifiers are available or how combinations behave.

Unlocked seeds can be toggled there.
- Earlier desktop builds: type the code into the ordinary World Seed field; the newer toggle interface may not exist.
- Console and standard mobile editions: use the seed field and the options exposed by your installed build. Do not assume every desktop-only modifier or menu is present.
- China Mobile: treat it as a separate edition and verify support independently before sharing a seed intended for another platform.
When posting a seed for another player, include the platform, exact version number, world size, normal difficulty, evil-biome choice, and the complete code or toggle selection. Two players should not expect identical results when any of those details differ.
How to enter a secret seed
- Open Terraria and choose New or Create to start a world.
- Choose a character, then proceed to world creation. Find the World Seed field.
- Type or paste the desired code exactly. Preserve letters, spaces, numbers, and capitalization. If you are using a code from a community post, copy the code itself rather than a descriptive nickname.
- Select the world size, normal difficulty, and evil biome as usual. A secret seed does not necessarily replace those choices; it adds its own generation rules.
- On supported Desktop 1.4.5.4 or newer builds, open Secret Seed and toggle any unlocked entries you want. You can use this interface instead of retyping every recognized code.
- Confirm the settings and generate the world. Wait for generation to finish before judging whether a special rule is active; some effects appear only after you explore or reach a particular progression point.
- Give the test world a distinctive name, such as Remix-test-1.4.5.4, so you do not accidentally treat it as a conventional survival world.
If the game accepts the seed but the map looks ordinary at first, inspect the intended feature rather than assuming failure. Some seeds primarily affect progression, enemy difficulty, survival pressure, or loot rather than producing an immediately dramatic landscape.
Core secret-seed families and their codes
The following are the major named families. Enter the text in the code column in the World Seed field unless your build exposes the same effect through the Secret Seed menu. Codes are shown in their commonly used form; because aliases and recognition can vary by version, verify the exact spelling and capitalization against the current Official Terraria Wiki entry for your platform.
| Seed family | Common code | What it is for | Planning concern |
|---|---|---|---|
| Drunk World | 5162020 |
Legacy special generation with unusual and mixed-world behavior. | Expect familiar assumptions about world generation to be unreliable. |
| For the Worthy | for the worthy |
A challenge preset that raises difficulty and changes hazards and progression. | Choose a fresh character or a prepared group; ordinary early-game routes can become dangerous. |
| Celebrationmk10 | 05162021 |
Anniversary-themed generation with special loot and celebratory changes. | The leading zero is part of the commonly documented code; do not omit it without checking your build. |
| No Traps | no traps |
A trap-focused world rule that changes how trap generation is handled. | Do not infer that every hazard is removed; read the seed’s current description for the exact scope. |
| Not the Bees | not the bees |
Bee- and jungle-oriented world rules. | Early exploration and combat can be shaped heavily by the altered jungle and bee content. |
| Don’t Dig Up / Remix | dont dig up |
Reverses the usual surface-to-Underworld emphasis and changes the expected progression direction. | Starting assumptions about where to gather basic resources and how to travel are wrong. |
| The Constant | the constant |
Adds mechanics inspired by Don’t Starve, including additional survival pressure. | Plan around sustaining your character, not only around defeating bosses. |
| Get fixed boi / Zenith-style combination | get fixed boi |
A severe everything-style challenge that combines effects associated with several secret seeds. | It is intentionally hostile and is best treated as a specialist challenge, not a first playthrough. |
Names in the table are labels, not guarantees that every build accepts every spelling variant. For example, a numeric seed may have a leading-zero alias in one reference while another version accepts the shorter form. If a code does not activate, use the exact current listing for your platform and version rather than adding punctuation or changing the phrase.
What each major seed feels like in practice
Drunk World
Drunk World is a long-standing special seed associated with unusual generation and mixed-world behavior. It is useful when you want a world that deliberately breaks the normal separation between familiar generation patterns. Because its value is in the altered combination of systems, it is a poor choice for a predictable resource route or a guide that assumes a standard map.
For the Worthy
For the Worthy is the clearest choice when the objective is a harder Terraria run. It materially raises the danger of ordinary encounters and changes hazards and progression. The selected character difficulty still matters, but the seed adds its own challenge layer. New players should learn the standard game first or play cooperatively with a group that can recover from repeated early deaths.
Celebrationmk10
Celebrationmk10 is an anniversary-themed world. Its appeal is variety, unusual presentation, and altered loot rather than a single survival gimmick. Use the complete commonly documented code, including the leading zero in 05162021, and verify aliases if your platform rejects it.
No Traps
No Traps targets trap-related world generation. The name should not be read as a universal immunity to every environmental danger: enemies, liquids, fall damage, and hazards outside the seed’s defined scope can still matter. Check the current seed description before designing a route around a particular trap assumption.
Not the Bees
Not the Bees shifts the world toward bee and jungle themes. Expect exploration, combat, and resource planning to be affected from the beginning rather than waiting until a late-game jungle visit. It suits players who want a biome-centered run and are comfortable adapting their early equipment choices.
Don’t Dig Up / Remix
Remix changes the direction of the game. Instead of treating the surface as the safe starting layer and the Underworld as a late destination, you face a world built around the opposite emphasis. This affects where you look for resources, how you judge danger, and what you consider a normal progression milestone. Start with a throwaway world if you have never played the altered progression before.

The Constant
The Constant brings survival pressure inspired by Don’t Starve. Food, environmental conditions, and the need to prepare can matter alongside Terraria’s usual mining and combat loop. It is a good fit for players who enjoy managing a fragile expedition, but it can be frustrating if you only want conventional building and boss progression.
Get fixed boi
Get fixed boi is the severe, everything-style challenge. It combines multiple secret-seed effects and can make terrain, enemies, traps, progression, and survival interact in hostile ways. Treat it as an endgame-style challenge even when starting from a new character: establish an escape plan, keep backups of valuable items, and expect ordinary guides to omit important threats.
Smaller 1.4.5 modifiers
Terraria 1.4.5 adds many narrower modifiers beyond the famous named worlds. The current wiki list includes changes involving visuals, biomes, liquids, spawning, traps, and structures. These are not all full world presets. Some alter one category while leaving most progression conventional.
Because the modifier catalog can expand or change with hotfixes, use the live Official Terraria Wiki list for exact codes and descriptions instead of relying on an old community compilation. Record the modifier name and the version in which you used it. A small change to liquid behavior or structure placement can be more important to a technical seed test than the seed’s headline name.
Can secret seeds be combined?
Yes. You can enter multiple valid codes, or on supported Desktop 1.4.5.4 and newer versions, toggle multiple unlocked entries in the Secret Seed menu. Combination behavior is not simply additive. One effect may override another, two effects may conflict, or their interaction may make the world dramatically harder than either seed alone.

Create a new test world, note every code or toggle, and check the generated world before committing a long-term character. If the result is useful, record the exact order in which you entered codes, because order or parsing rules may matter in a particular build even when the same set of labels is selected.
A safe combination workflow
- Update or confirm the game version on every device involved.
- Create a disposable world with a short, recognizable name.
- Enable one seed first and verify its signature feature.
- Add the second seed, regenerate, and compare the result. Never assume the first effect survived unchanged.
- Test basic spawning, early resources, starting terrain, liquids, traps, and the first intended progression step.
- Keep a written record of codes, capitalization, platform, world size, difficulty, evil biome, and menu toggles.
- Only start a long campaign after the combination behaves as expected.
Troubleshooting a code that does not work
The game accepts the text but nothing seems different
- Confirm that you generated a new world after entering the code. Existing worlds do not retroactively become secret-seed worlds.
- Look for a feature that appears later in progression; not every seed changes the starting landscape.
- Check whether you typed a descriptive label instead of the actual code.
- Compare the spelling, spaces, capitalization, and any leading zero with the current platform-specific listing.
The Secret Seed menu is missing
The toggle menu is associated with Desktop 1.4.5.4. If you are on an earlier desktop build, console, mobile, or a separate edition, use the ordinary World Seed field and the options your build provides. Updating may add the interface, but a platform update can also change parity, so test the seed again after updating.
A known code is rejected
- Check the full game version, not only the broad 1.4 label.
- Check the platform and edition, including whether the device is using the separate China Mobile release.
- Retry in a newly created world with the code copied exactly.
- Try the current documented alias, such as the leading-zero form of a numeric anniversary seed, only when the platform’s listing shows it.
- Test the code by itself before combining it with another seed.
The combined world is unexpectedly difficult or broken
That can be an interaction rather than a failed seed. Disable all but one entry, regenerate, and add effects back one at a time. If a combination produces an unplayable map, discard the test world and report the exact version, platform, codes, and observed behavior when seeking help.
Choosing a seed by your goal
| Your goal | Best starting point | Why | What to avoid |
|---|---|---|---|
| Learn how secret seeds work | One narrow 1.4.5 modifier | A single change is easier to observe and troubleshoot. | Starting with Get fixed boi or a multi-seed stack. |
| Play a harder conventional run | For the Worthy | It clearly raises challenge while remaining recognizable as Terraria progression. | Assuming normal early-game routes remain safe. |
| Explore unusual world generation | Drunk World | It deliberately produces mixed and unexpected generation behavior. | Using a guide that requires a predictable map. |
| Try a biome-focused theme | Not the Bees | Bee and jungle rules shape exploration and equipment decisions. | Arriving unprepared for altered early encounters. |
| Reverse the usual progression | Don’t Dig Up / Remix | It changes the surface-versus-Underworld emphasis. | Following a standard surface-first route. |
| Add survival management | The Constant | It introduces mechanics inspired by Don’t Starve. | Treating food and environmental pressure as optional. |
| Attempt an extreme challenge | Get fixed boi | It combines several hostile effects. | Using a valuable main world or an unprepared character. |
How to document and share a reproducible seed
A seed code alone is not enough for reliable reproduction. Include the following in your note or community post:
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
- Exact Terraria version, including the hotfix number.
- Platform and edition: desktop, a specific console family, standard mobile, or another release.
- Every secret-seed code, including spaces, capitalization, and leading zeroes.
- Whether entries were typed into the World Seed field or toggled through the Secret Seed menu.
- World size, normal difficulty, and evil-biome selection.
- Whether the world was generated before or after an update.
- The feature you expected and where you looked for it.
Do not promise that another player will receive the same world from the same phrase unless the version and platform match. Terraria’s normal generation can also be affected by the other world-creation choices, and later updates may revise generation rules.
A practical first test
For a low-risk introduction, make a small disposable world on your current build, enter one recognized code such as 5162020, and keep the other settings conventional. Explore enough to identify the seed’s generation signature, then exit without investing your main character’s rare equipment. Repeat with a narrow modifier before attempting a combination.
Once you understand how your platform handles codes, try the named seed that matches your goal. Use For the Worthy for a deliberate difficulty increase, The Constant for survival pressure, Remix for reversed progression, or Get fixed boi only when you specifically want a compound challenge. Keep the exact version and settings with your notes so a future update does not make the result impossible to reproduce.
