Google Tensor G5 and Apple A16 Bionic cannot be ranked as universal winners from the available benchmark evidence: there is no verified, matched test showing both chips under comparable conditions. Tensor G5 is specified in Google’s Pixel 10 family, and published Pixel 10 results provide useful CPU, graphics and AI context—but they do not establish how it compares directly with an A16 Bionic phone.
What the specifications establish
Google lists Tensor G5 as the processor in the Pixel 10. The base Pixel 10 specification sheet lists 12 GB of RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB of storage. Those are phone specifications, not a complete, directly matched comparison with an A16 Bionic device.
Android Central’s September 3, 2025 overview describes Tensor G5 as having one Arm Cortex-X4 core, five Cortex-A725 cores and two Cortex-A520 cores, alongside a PowerVR DXT-48-1536 GPU, a fourth-generation Tensor Processing Unit (TPU), LPDDR5X memory and a TSMC 3 nm manufacturing process. The cited material does not supply a corresponding A16 Bionic specification set, so a side-by-side spec table would imply a level of verification it does not support.
Google’s claims, as reported by Android Central, are that Tensor G5’s CPU is 34% faster on average than Tensor G4 and that its TPU is up to 60% more powerful. These are manufacturer claims about generational improvements, not independently established measurements against the A16 Bionic.

- Attention-grabbing design meets the latest evolution of the Google Pixel Camera on the new Google Pixel 11 Pro; Gemini Intelligence helps manage details so you can live in the moment[1]; and the phone is available in two sizes
- Unlocked Android phone gives you the flexibility to change carriers and choose your own data plan: Works with Google Fi, Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, and other major carriers[2]
- Stay informed without looking at your screen: When your phone is face down, Pixel HiLight gently alerts you with subtle glowing lights when your favorite contacts are calling or you’re talking with Gemini; exclusive to Google Pixel 11 Pro phones
- Magic Capture catches the moment as you live it: With just one tap, Pixel 11 Pro captures video and photos, and automatically edits, crops, and unblurs a curated collection, ready to share – and you get the memory of how it felt to be in the moment
- Two new cameras for more brilliant photos: A larger telephoto sensor captures 30% more light for clear, beautiful photos and videos, even in the dark[3]; Pixel’s longest zoom ever helps you capture details from impressive distances[4]
What the Tensor G5 benchmark results show
The available Pixel 10 figures come from different sources and datasets. Keep them separate: a user-submitted device-page aggregate is not the same thing as one reviewer’s tests on a particular phone.
| Test and result | Device and source | What it measures—and what it does not |
|---|---|---|
| Geekbench 6: 2,179 single-core; 4,777 multi-core | Pixel 10 tested by Android Central in its 2025 report | CPU benchmark results for that report’s test setup; not a matched A16 result. |
| Geekbench AI quantized: 2,742 | Pixel 10 tested by Android Central in its 2025 report | A quantized AI workload; not a universal measure of on-device AI performance. |
| 3DMark Wild Life Extreme: 3,122, or 18.70 FPS | Pixel 10 tested by Android Central in its 2025 report | Graphics benchmark context for that test; it does not establish relative A16 graphics performance. |
| Geekbench Browser: 1,905 single-core; 5,400 multi-core | Pixel 10 device page, displaying user-submitted results; accessed October 7, 2026 | Aggregate page values, not the same dataset as Android Central’s individual test and not a matched comparison with A16. |
Geekbench says higher scores are better and that a score twice as high indicates twice the performance within its scoring system. That does not make scores from different test versions, devices or datasets interchangeable. In particular, the Browser’s displayed aggregate and Android Central’s reported run should not be treated as contradictory readings from an identical test.

Why a direct A16 verdict is not supported
A Geekbench Browser result surfaced for a Geekbench 6.7.1 compute comparison naming Google Pixel 10 with Tensor G5 and iPhone 15 with A16 Bionic. Its destination could not be inspected, so no score, winner, exact iPhone configuration or test conditions from that comparison are verified. The available material therefore supports neither a numerical head-to-head nor a claim that one chip is faster overall.

A sound CPU comparison would need results from the same Geekbench version on identified devices. A graphics comparison likewise needs a common graphics test and comparable device conditions. For AI, the workload and precision matter: a quantized AI score does not predict every model, app or task, and it should not be compared as though it were a CPU or GPU result.
Why phone configuration changes benchmark results
A processor does not run in isolation. The Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL have vapor chamber cooling that the base Pixel 10 lacks, and Pixel models can differ in RAM configuration. Cooling can affect sustained performance under longer loads; memory, firmware and software also shape test outcomes. A result from one Pixel 10 model should not automatically be assigned to every Tensor G5 phone, much less compared with an unspecified iPhone 15 configuration as if the test conditions were equivalent.

- For CPU responsiveness: use a same-version single-core and multi-core test as one indicator, while checking the exact handset and test source.
- For games and graphics: look for the same graphics benchmark on both devices, plus sustained-load results where available. A Tensor G5 score alone says nothing conclusive about A16 performance.
- For on-device AI: match the workload, precision and hardware being measured. “AI performance” is not one interchangeable score.
- For everyday use: benchmarks cover defined workloads; they do not by themselves settle app responsiveness, battery life, camera processing or which phone is preferable.
The practical takeaway is to compare phones using tests on the exact models you are considering, and treat synthetic scores as one piece of evidence. The verified Tensor G5 results provide a performance snapshot for Pixel 10, not a complete contest between Tensor G5 and A16 Bionic.
