Telegram trading signals do not follow a shared format. In one author’s review of just under 72,000 new-trade messages, the practical challenge was not simply finding a buy or sell call: it was identifying inconsistent fields, interpreting missing information, and connecting later instructions to the right trade.
What does a Telegram trading signal look like?
A signal is usually a plain-text message naming a direction and an instrument, often with an entry price or zone, a stop loss and one or more take-profit levels. The project-authored Telegram signal format guide describes those fields, but says there is no common standard across channels.
Direction and symbol are the minimum fields the guide treats as a trade instruction. Entry, stop and targets may be missing. That minimum is not the same as a complete or safe-to-execute instruction: if the channel does not state a stop, inferring one from its past messages is a guess, not information supplied with the signal.

One set of fields, many message shapes
A channel might put each value on a labeled line, place a price beside the direction, or show an entry zone in a separate block. For example, a message might say BUY or LONG and name a symbol such as XAUUSD, XAU USD, GOLD or #XAUUSD. Other channels may attach the symbol to the direction or use different labels and layouts.

Entries can be single prices or zones. A zone might use a dash or slash, and its two prices may be written high-to-low or low-to-high. Targets may appear on repeated lines labeled TP; the guide interprets repeated bare TP labels in written order and supports up to six targets. An instruction such as “Hold” may indicate a runner—a position left open without a numeric target—rather than another target price.
A compact example
The guide’s example of a comparatively complete signal is a SELL on XAUUSD with an entry zone of 4626–4629, a stop at 4632 and two targets. Those figures illustrate how fields can be arranged; they are not a recommendation to trade gold or use those levels.

What can go wrong when a signal is parsed?
Parsing means turning a message into fields a person or software can act on. A parser has to recognize more than a tidy template. The guide calls out emoji, spelling variations such as “Stop Lose,” numbered prefixes, mixed languages, risk boilerplate and runner instructions such as “Hold.” It also needs to tolerate different direction labels, symbol spellings and zone order.

- Missing values: Direction and symbol may be present while the entry, stop or targets are absent. A parser cannot make an unstated value certain; an inferred stop remains a guess.
- Ambiguous labels and layout: Different labels, emoji or inline prices can make a field harder to identify. A system that expects one exact wording or line order can miss valid variations.
- Alert first, details later: Some channels post an alert, then add entry, stop and target numbers in a later message. Treating the first alert as a complete signal can leave key fields unavailable; treating the follow-up as unrelated can lose them.
- Unclear follow-ups: A later close or modification needs to be associated with the correct original trade. A standalone message may not make that connection clear.
A useful evaluation of a parsing approach therefore asks whether it identifies the fields across varied labels and formats, handles zones and languages, distinguishes missing values from runner instructions, guards against stale or unsafe entries, and links follow-ups to the correct signal. Recognizing a message is only one part of the problem.

Why a correctly parsed signal can still be unsafe to open
Correctly extracting prices does not make the trade conditions workable. A wide entry zone can place its deepest order too close to the stop, leaving little room before the stop is reached. The guide describes shortening the zone, using a single entry, or refusing the signal as possible responses; which, if any, is appropriate depends on the trader’s own rules.
Timing matters, too. If a signal arrives after the market has already crossed its stop, the guide says not to open it: its targets are anchored to an obsolete price context. It specifically notes delayed arrival as a concern for tight gold scalps. A parser that faithfully reads stale prices has not solved the execution problem.

Channels may also switch between complete signals and alert-first messages. The guide recommends accounting for the alert-first pattern, while warning that inconsistent switching between the two styles causes trouble. For later management instructions, replying to the original signal makes the relationship to that trade clearer.

Áron Lukács’s October 3, 2026 article says its observations came from just under 72,000 new-trade signals over the 90 days through September 2026. Lukács discloses that he builds TTMT, a service that reads Telegram channel signals and executes them on MetaTrader accounts. The figures below are claims from his article and service context, not independently audited market-wide statistics. The article does not provide the underlying records, and its figures do not establish profitability, overall signal quality or the reliability of any particular channel.

The reply-versus-standalone comparisons are consistent with the practical value of tying a follow-up to its original signal: the association is clearer when the instruction is posted as a reply. They describe execution rates in this particular account, not a guarantee that replies will execute or that the underlying trades will perform well. What information should a usable signal include?
The project guide’s shortest recommended shape includes the fields below. A channel may omit one or more, but omissions leave decisions unresolved for whoever reads or processes the message.
- Direction: for example, BUY/SELL or LONG/SHORT.
- Instrument: a symbol or recognizable instrument name.
- Entry: a price or clearly bounded zone.
- Stop loss: a stated level rather than an inferred one.
- Targets: one or more take-profit levels, or a clearly expressed runner instruction if no numeric target is intended.
For a reader assessing a channel or a tool that processes its messages, the key distinction is between what the message actually says and what someone has to infer. A complete-looking parse can still lack an explicit stop, refer to a stale price, or fail to connect a later instruction to the right trade. The format guide is project documentation published by jazzrabbit OÜ, which it identifies as TTMT’s operator; its examples and operational guidance are project-originated, not an independent standard.
