Guitarfoxx, a TEKKEN 8 player who says she has very limited vision in her left eye, reports reaching Tekken God after roughly two and a half years of playing. She says she got there by building strategies around reads, movement and practiced setups—not by relying on quick visual reactions. The available accounts do not establish that she started at Beginner, so that part of the original framing cannot be confirmed.
What Guitarfoxx says about playing with limited vision
In her Reddit post, Guitarfoxx says she was born with glaucoma and lost her right eye around the time TEKKEN 8 launched. She describes the vision in her left eye as very limited, blurry tunnel vision. These are her descriptions of her experience, not an independent clinical assessment.

She says the limitation affects several parts of a match: recognizing strings and particular moves, judging her position relative to walls on some stages, and identifying which hand an opponent uses for a throw. As she put it, “Every throw break has to be a guess, I can’t see well enough to know what hand comes out first.” She also wrote, “I can only really punish if I get the read, as I can’t see well enough to react even when I know it.”
How she says she adapted
Guitarfoxx describes a deliberate approach that reduces dependence on reacting to visual cues. She says she practiced high-damage staple combos, wall carry, and okizeme setups—the pressure and options available after knocking an opponent down. She also worked on frame traps, backdash movement, sidesteps to encourage opponents to miss, dash blocking, homing moves, and lower-risk offense.

She says she focused on noticing opponents’ habits and adapting more quickly. She describes her own style as passive and says she still has a lot to learn. Those details are her account of her personal approach, rather than independently tested coaching advice.
Why Tekken God is a significant rank
Dexerto’s February 23, 2026 report identifies Asuka as Guitarfoxx’s main character and describes Tekken God as one of TEKKEN 8’s highest ranks. The report says Tekken God Supreme and Tekken God of Destruction are above it, so Tekken God is not the game’s single highest rank.

Bandai Namco says Ranked Match pairs players near their skill level. Players gain or lose points through wins and losses; reaching the relevant point threshold and winning a promotion match advances their rank. The official online-mode page also describes leaderboards for measures including TEKKEN Power, Ranking Points, and Ranked Match Wins, with character-specific and platform-specific rankings. That context explains the ranked progression, but it does not establish a percentile or how rare Guitarfoxx’s achievement is.

Her view of TEKKEN 8’s accessibility settings
Guitarfoxx says she appreciates that the game includes visual accessibility settings but chooses not to use them in competitive play. She considers the current implementation unfair to an opponent or impractical in an in-person tournament. Dexerto reports her concern that tournament players may share a screen and console, and that unfamiliar settings could overwhelm an opponent.
