Specifications and features in the table are manufacturer-listed, not independently verified performance findings. Tefal’s regional product listings report 2 L total jug capacity and 1.25 L usable blending capacity. The smaller usable figure is the relevant one when planning a batch.
What the modes and grinder offer
The Australian listing names the five preset modes as sauce, smoothie, soup, puree and ice crush. The Indonesia listing also describes five presets and an ice-crush function, but does not name all five modes in the supplied product details. Both listings describe pulse control; the Indonesia listing and Australian page describe a grinder, although the included-attachment status should be checked for the exact regional version.

Tefal Australia says its ice-crush function can crush eight ice cubes in one minute using pulse. This is a result from Tefal internal tests conducted in 2020, not an independent test or a guarantee for every recipe, ice size or BL477 variant. The official pages do not establish comparative results for smoothie texture, blending speed, noise or durability.

- Pour liquid ingredients into the jug first, then add solids. Keep ingredients below the MAX line marked on the jug.
- Cut food into pieces no larger than 2–3 cm for best results.
- For dry ingredients, Tefal’s support FAQ advises two-second pulse bursts for no more than three minutes, followed by a 15-minute pause before restarting.
- Keep the lid or guard in place while operating. Never put a hand into a jug while it is on the motor base.
- Do not put the jug in a microwave.

Cleaning and replacement parts
Tefal advises unplugging the base and wiping it with a damp cloth. Wash the jug with soapy water or washing-up liquid. Dishwasher suitability varies by bowl and part, so check the instructions for the relevant model instead of assuming that the entire jug assembly is dishwasher-safe.
Tefal’s support page provides an accessories and spare-parts route, but it does not establish that a jar, blade, gasket or other part fits every regional BL477. Confirm the complete reference and exact part number with Tefal before ordering.

Troubleshooting common problems
The blade does not rotate easily
Tefal suggests reducing the quantity or size of the food, or adding liquid. Do not try to free the blade by putting a hand into the jug on the motor base.

The appliance vibrates excessively
Place the blender on a flat, stable surface and reduce the quantity of ingredients. If vibration continues, Tefal advises contacting an approved repair centre.
