TecDoc is TecAlliance’s standardized automotive aftermarket catalogue and data ecosystem: it connects product records from parts manufacturers with vehicle reference data and application links so businesses can search and use parts information in a shared structure. It is not a physical fitment test or a ready-made parts-shop experience. Developers still build the search, vehicle selection, result presentation, and ordering workflows around the data.

What does TecDoc represent?

A useful way to understand TecDoc is as connected catalogue data rather than a single “will this fit?” function. TecAlliance describes a framework in which manufacturer product information is standardized, validated, and enriched with vehicle reference data. The public product descriptions explain the concepts, but do not publish a complete field-level schema or entity-relationship diagram.

Conceptually, the core relationship is vehicle reference ↔ application/linkage ↔ article. This is a teaching model based on TecAlliance’s descriptions, not a claim about the exact names or structure of internal tables.

Data concept What it represents How an application uses it
Vehicle reference Vehicle definitions and variants. TecAlliance describes coverage for passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, heavy commercial vehicles, and motorcycles. Provides the vehicle context against which a parts search or application can be interpreted.
Article or product record Structured information about an aftermarket part supplied by a manufacturer, using common fields, attributes, and formats. Provides the product information shown or processed by a catalogue, webshop, ERP integration, or distributor tool.
Generic article category A common classification for a family of parts. Supports consistent categorization and navigation across products.
Criteria and technical specifications Product characteristics and fitment criteria used to describe and distinguish parts. A complete public field-level schema is not stated in TecAlliance’s overview. Can help distinguish candidates, provided the relevant data and rules are available in the licensed product.
Vehicle-to-article application or linkage A catalogue association between an article and one or more vehicle references. Enables vehicle-filtered parts lookup. It should be presented as catalogue applicability data, not as an independent physical installation test.
Identifiers and cross-references Possible lookup inputs include vehicle details, VIN, vehicle registration, article or part number, OE number, and brand; availability depends on product, package, and market. Let the application support workflows that begin with a vehicle or a known identifier, when that lookup is included in the integration.

TecAlliance’s current TecDoc Catalogue page displays vendor-reported scale figures for 2026: 1,200+ brands, 260K+ vehicle types, 724M+ vehicle linkages, and 12.8M article records. These figures describe catalogue scale as reported by TecAlliance; they are not independent measures of accuracy, completeness, or the suitability of a particular package for a given market.

How does data move through TecDoc?

  1. Prepare manufacturer content. A parts manufacturer organizes product descriptions and vehicle application information using TecDoc’s categories, attributes, fields, and reference data. TecAlliance’s supplier onboarding description refers to suppliers having relevant ownership or distribution rights for the data and target regions.
  2. Classify products and associate applications. Products are assigned to generic article categories and connected to vehicle applications using vehicle reference and fitment data.
  3. Validate and publish. TecAlliance describes data as standardized, validated, and enriched with vehicle reference data. Its IDP Data Supplier API is described as a manufacturer-facing route for validating, publishing, and updating supplier data.
  4. Consume the catalogue through an integration channel. TecAlliance positions the TecDoc Web Service for API integration and the Data Package for bulk use in internal systems and offline applications. A catalogue interface is intended for direct catalogue use.
  5. Build the application workflow. The integrator determines how users select a vehicle, enter identifiers, resolve ambiguous results, see compatibility information, and proceed to an order or internal process.

Which TecDoc access route fits an integration?

The channels serve different operating models. The public product descriptions establish their broad positioning, but do not specify the exact update cadence, endpoint contract, or operational terms for every package.

Route Positioning described by TecAlliance Questions for the implementation
Catalogue interface Direct use of the catalogue or an application for catalogue access. Is direct catalogue use sufficient, or does the business need data embedded in its own software?
TecDoc Web Service API access for distributors and platforms integrating vehicle, product, and linkage data into webshops, ERP systems, or other business applications. Confirm supported operations, endpoint contracts, entitlements, market coverage, updates, and applicable data rights with TecAlliance.
Data Package Bulk data intended for integration into internal systems and offline applications. Determine how bulk updates will be received, loaded, reconciled, and monitored, and what storage and redistribution terms apply.
IDP Data Supplier API Manufacturer-facing workflow for sending and updating a manufacturer’s own data in TecDoc. Use it for supplier data submission and maintenance, not as a consumer parts-search API.

How should developers plan vehicle and part lookup?

TecAlliance describes lookup by vehicle details, VIN, vehicle registration mark or number plate, part or article number, OE number, and brand. Do not assume that every lookup is available in every API plan, geography, or data package. Verify each required query with TecAlliance for the intended product and market.

FOXWELL Car Scanner NT604 Elite OBD2 Scanner ABS SRS Transmission
  • [Easy to Use—Work Out of the Box] + [FOXWELL 2026 New Version] FOXWELL NT604 Elite scan tool is the 2026 new version from FOXWELL, designed for car owners who want to figure out the cause of issues before fixing car problems by scanning common systems like ABS, SRS, engine, and transmission. The NT604 Elite obd2 scanner diagnostic tool comes with the latest software—no need to waste time downloading software first. Plug the scanner into the OBDII port with OBDII cable to start the diagnosis.
  • [Affordable] + [Reliable Car Health Monitor] Will you be confused what happens when the warning light of ABS/SRS/transmission/check engine flashes? Instead of taking your cars to dealership, this FOXWELL scanner will help you do a thorough scanning and detection for your cars and pinpoint the root cause. Note:The device is a diagnostic tool, not a repair tool. To turn off a warning light, you must first physically repair the issue causing it. Only then can the scanner be used to clear the corresponding fault code.
  • [5 in 1 Car Diagnostic Scanner] Compared with obd scanners (50-100), NT604 Elite code scanner not only includes their OBDII diagnosis but also serves as ABS/SRS scanner, transmission and check engine code reader. When it’s an odb2 scanner, you can use it to check if your car is ready for annual test through I/M readiness menu. In addition, live data stream, built-in DTC library, data play back and print, all these features are a big plus for it. Note: doesn't support maintenance functions like reset or relearn. For the SRS system, NT604 Elite can read and clear common fault codes not caused by a crash, but crash/collision data cannot be cleared.
  • [Fantastic AUTOVIN] + [No extra software fee] Through the AUTOVIN menu, this NT604 Elite car scanner allows you to get your V-IN and vehicle info rapidly, no need to take time to find your V-IN and input one by one. What's more, the NT604 Elite ABS SRS scanner supports 60+ car brands from worldwide (America/Asia/Europe). You don’t need to pay extra software fee. AUTOVIN may not work on some older vehicles or certain vehicle brands. If AUTOVIN fails, please input the vin code manually or go to the Diagnostic Menu to select your vehicle model.
  • [Solid protective case KO plastic carrying bag] + [Lifetime update] Almost all same price-level car scanner diagnostic tool only offers plastic bag to hold the scanner. However, NT604 Elite automotive scanner is equipped with solid protective case, preventing your obd2 scanner from damage. Then you don’t need to pay extra money to buy a solid toolbox.
  • Choose the entry point. Decide whether users start with make, model, and variant; a VIN; a registration lookup; a known article number; an OE number; or a brand. Support only inputs confirmed for the deployment.
  • Preserve the selected vehicle context. The application must keep track of which vehicle reference the user selected while presenting candidate articles and their catalogue applications.
  • Plan for disambiguation. Vehicle details or identifiers may not resolve to one result in every workflow. Design the interface to let users distinguish candidates using the data actually returned by the contracted service.
  • Explain what a linkage means. Show catalogue applicability as an association between an article and vehicle reference. Do not represent that association as proof that a part has been physically installed or independently tested on the vehicle.
  • Keep market scope explicit. Confirm vehicle classes, countries, brands, and data modules in the relevant entitlement rather than inferring them from the general catalogue description.
  • Define data operations. Establish how additions, corrections, discontinued articles, and supplier updates are identified and reconciled. The public product pages do not settle update cadence or the precise change-handling mechanism for a particular integration.

What must be confirmed before implementation?

TecAlliance’s public product pages explain product positioning and supported concepts, but they are not a substitute for the technical documentation and terms for the specific integration. The reviewed public material does not establish the TecDoc Web Service’s endpoint list, API versioning, authentication, rate limits, pagination, error semantics, payload schemas, or exact query behavior. It also does not settle package-specific regional entitlements, pricing, or storage, display, caching, and redistribution rights.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Obtain the current technical contract and documentation for the exact API or data package being considered.
  • Confirm the target countries, vehicle classes, brands, and data modules included in the entitlement.
  • Check which search identifiers and lookup modes are available in that product and market.
  • Agree on update behavior and how supplier corrections, new records, and discontinued items will be handled.
  • Confirm permitted use, storage, display, caching, derived data, and redistribution directly from current terms.

How is TecDoc different from TecRMI?

TecDoc catalogue access and TecRMI technical information are related TecAlliance offerings, but their documentation should not be treated as interchangeable. TecAlliance’s “Interface Description: ServiceBg REST,” dated 20 April 2026, is a TecRMI REST example. Its service-specific fields, such as a vehicle TypeId, generic article numbers or criteria, and country or language values, do not establish TecDoc Web Service endpoints, authentication, payload schemas, or limits.
