The latest reported quarters are not aligned: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) reported Q2 FY27, for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, while Infosys’s latest published results were for Q1 FY27, ended June 30, 2026. Infosys listed October 23, 2026 as the tentative date for its September-quarter results. Until those results are published, the available figures are not a same-quarter comparison.
What the latest results show—and why the periods matter
TCS reported consolidated Q2 FY27 results on October 8, 2026. Infosys’s latest published audited results were for Q1 FY27, released July 23, 2026. The different reporting periods make a direct ranking misleading: a quarter-on-quarter comparison would compare different quarters, and the companies report in different currencies.

These figures are company-reported and consolidated where stated. TCS’s dollar revenue and Infosys’s rupee revenue cannot be ranked by size without converting currency using a stated exchange-rate basis; even then, the quarter mismatch remains. TCS also reports constant-currency growth, which is not the same measure as growth translated into US dollars.

How to compare quarterly results fairly
- Match the reporting period. Compare the same fiscal quarter and year wherever possible. If one company has not released that quarter, label the mismatch rather than treating the available quarters as a head-to-head result. Infosys’s FAQ listed October 23, 2026 as the tentative release date for its quarter ended September 30, 2026; the date was scheduled, not a published result. See the Infosys investor FAQ.
- Use the same financial scope. Compare consolidated with consolidated results, not a consolidated figure for one company and standalone results for the other.
- Keep currency and growth basis visible. State whether revenue is reported in rupees or US dollars. Distinguish reported growth from constant-currency growth and name the comparison basis—year over year or sequentially.
- Read several measures together. Revenue growth shows the change in scale; operating margin shows operating profitability; net profit and net margin add the effect of below-operating items; EPS relates profit to each share; operating cash flow indicates cash generated from operations. A strong result in one measure does not settle the overall comparison.
- Check the time horizon. One quarter is a snapshot. Use comparable multiple-quarter or full-year disclosures before treating a result as evidence of a persistent trend.
How to compare TCS and Infosys dividends
Compare the declared amount per share alongside its type, covered fiscal period, record date, and payment date. An interim dividend, a final dividend, and a special dividend are not interchangeable; comparing amounts without those labels can give the wrong impression. A larger rupee amount per share does not by itself mean a higher yield, because yield also depends on share price and the date used for that price.

TCS’s Q2 FY27 ₹12 dividend was announced with its results; its record and payment dates are October 14 and October 30, 2026. Infosys’s latest documented completed dividend was its ₹25 FY26 final dividend, paid June 25, 2026. Its Q1 FY27 filing showed no interim dividend for that quarter. The two latest amounts therefore differ in period and status, and are not a like-for-like measure of which company pays more.

Infosys says it generally declares an interim dividend in October alongside Q2 results and recommends a final dividend with annual results. That describes a historical pattern, not a commitment to declare a dividend in a future period. Neither company’s cited materials establish a comparable forward dividend yield. A yield calculation would require a stated share price and date as well as a clearly defined dividend amount; a past distribution does not establish a future payout or investment return.

How to read the current comparison
At this reporting snapshot, TCS has published a September-quarter result and Infosys has not. The useful comparison is therefore a clearly labeled set of company-reported figures plus a method for aligning the companies once both have reported the same quarter. Do not treat the revenue figures as directly comparable across currencies or the dividend amounts as a yield ranking.
