As of 9 October 2026, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) had announced a ₹12-per-share Q2 FY27 dividend, with a record date of 14 October 2026 and payment scheduled for 30 October 2026. These dates were still in the future on that date. TCS has not stated an ex-dividend date for this distribution in the official materials cited here, so do not treat the record date as one.

What is the latest TCS dividend and its record date?

TCS announced a Q2 FY27 dividend of ₹12 per share. The company announced 14 October 2026 as the record date and scheduled payment for 30 October 2026. Because both dates were upcoming as of 9 October 2026, they are announced dates, not completed events. Check the TCS dividend payment schedule for updates and later announcements.

The schedule lists dividends by type, amount, record date, actual payment date and deadline for tax exemption forms. For context, completed FY 2025–26 distributions included an ₹11 interim dividend with a 16 July 2025 record date, paid 4 August 2025; ₹11 interim and ₹46 special dividends with a 17 January 2026 record date, paid 3 February 2026; and a ₹31 final dividend with a 25 May 2026 record date, paid 12 June 2026. These are historical examples, not forecasts of future amounts or timing.

What is the difference between the record date and ex-dividend date?

Record date

The record date is the date TCS uses to establish which shareholders qualify for a declared dividend. For dematerialized shares, TCS’s 2026 AGM notice refers to beneficial-owner data supplied by the depositories at close of business on the record date. For physical shares, eligibility is based on the company’s member records, including valid transmission or transposition requests lodged by that date.

Ex-dividend date

The ex-dividend date is a separate trading-market date; it should not be inferred from the record date alone. The official TCS materials cited here do not state an ex-dividend date for the Q2 FY27 dividend. If you need that date for a trade, check an authoritative BSE or NSE corporate-action record, or your broker’s listing for the specific announcement. TCS says dividend dates are published on its investor page and notified to BSE and NSE.

When will TCS pay the dividend, and what if it has not arrived?

For the Q2 FY27 dividend, TCS scheduled payment for 30 October 2026. The scheduled date is not a guarantee of the hour a bank will post a credit. If a payment is missing, check the dividend announcement and confirm that the bank and KYC details registered for the relevant shareholding are valid.

How is TCS dividend income taxed, and what TDS may apply?

TCS says dividend income is taxable in the shareholder’s hands and may be subject to tax deducted at source (TDS). Its investor FAQ gives the following withholding guidance. These are company-stated TDS rules, not a calculation of your final tax liability.

Shareholder situation TCS FAQ withholding guidance
Resident individual with PAN updated 10% TDS when aggregate dividend payable during the tax year exceeds ₹10,000. TCS says no TDS is deducted if the total does not exceed ₹10,000; withholding applies to later dividend payments once the aggregate crosses that threshold.
Resident individual without PAN updated TCS states a 20% TDS rate.
Resident non-individual TCS says TDS applies without a threshold.
Non-resident shareholder Treaty-related withholding may depend on eligibility and valid documentation; TCS says missing or invalid documents can result in domestic-rate withholding.

TDS is an amount withheld at source; it does not by itself determine the tax ultimately due. The shareholder’s tax position and applicable rules matter, so check current requirements or consult a qualified tax professional.

Forms and treaty documents

TCS’s investor FAQ says Form 121 replaces Forms 15G and 15H from 1 April 2026 for Tax Year 2026–27 onward. The company advises submitting Form 121 at the start of the tax year or at least five days before the record date to allow verification. It says late submissions are considered only for subsequent dividends.

For shareholders seeking benefits under a tax treaty, TCS lists a Tax Residency Certificate, electronically filed Form 41, and declarations about beneficial ownership and whether the shareholder has a permanent establishment in India. Treaty eligibility and the applicable rate depend on the shareholder’s circumstances; a lower rate is not guaranteed.

Where can I verify TCS dividend dates and procedures?

Use TCS’s official Dividend Payment Details page for announcement-specific amounts, record dates, payment dates and exemption-form deadlines. The investor FAQs explain dividend dates, shareholder contacts and tax procedures. For an ex-dividend date, verify the specific corporate action through BSE, NSE or your broker rather than assuming it matches the record date.
