The right soundbar for a TCL TV is the one that matches your TV’s ports and the features you plan to use. The Q85H and Q75H are the strongest documented candidates for an immersive setup; the Q65H and S4BH offer documented HDMI eARC or optical TV connections. A fifth distinct model cannot be responsibly ranked from the available model-specific information, so this guide uses a verified setup alternative rather than inventing a fifth product or claiming comparative test results.
Which TCL soundbar candidates are worth considering?
These are compatibility-led candidates, not independently tested rankings. Product details below come from TCL’s global product pages or setup guides; availability and specifications can vary by region. Confirm the exact model sold where you live before buying.
1. TCL Q85H: for a documented 7.1.4 configuration
TCL identifies the Q85H as a 7.1.4 home-theater soundbar system. Its global product page lists HDMI eARC, optical, an HDMI input, Dolby Atmos, VRR, ALLM, and Dolby Vision passthrough. Those are manufacturer-listed features, not independent performance findings. TCL also describes TV-linkage features that apply only to compatible TCL TV models. Verify the TV’s specific support before relying on them. See TCL’s Q85H specifications.

2. TCL Q75H: for a 5.1.2 layout
TCL describes the Q75H as a 5.1.2 system with five main sound channels, two up-firing channels, and a wireless subwoofer. The product page also lists HDMI eARC, optical, an HDMI input, Dolby Atmos, VRR, ALLM, and Dolby Vision passthrough. Channel counts describe the system’s layout; they do not establish how it sounds or make it objectively better or worse than another model. Check regional specifications and TV compatibility. See TCL’s Q75H specifications.

Read the Q65H quick-start guide.
4. TCL S4BH: a simpler connection candidate
The S4BH quick-start guide shows HDMI eARC and optical TV connections and describes Roku TV Ready setup for compatible Roku TVs. 5. Best connection fit: choose among the verified models
There is not enough model-specific evidence here to name a fifth distinct TCL soundbar responsibly. Instead, make the fifth slot a connection-fit choice: select a verified model above that has a port your TV supports and the setup features you need. This avoids treating an unverified model—or a feature label—as a recommendation.
Will a soundbar work with your TCL TV?
Usually, a compatible connection is the deciding factor, but port and feature support varies by exact TV model, soundbar model, region, and connection type. TCL lists HDMI ARC/eARC, optical, Bluetooth, and AUX among possible connection methods; a particular TV or soundbar may not offer all of them. An HDMI socket is not automatically the ARC/eARC socket: check the port label and both devices’ manuals. TCL’s soundbar connection guide and its TV compatibility guidance explain the available approaches.

- 5.1 S-Series Sound Bar Fill your room with sound, bringing the movie theater experience into your home with just a single HDMI cable.
- Ray Danz Technology: Experience an expansive soundstage that fills the room with immersive audio.
- Dolby Atmos and DTS:X: Spatial sound from above and behind putting you in the center of movies, music, and games.

- Built-In Tweeter: Hear every detail of your favorite movies and music with the built-in center channel tweeter that delivers precise, high-frequency sound to complement the powerful bass.
- HDMI ARC/eARC: Look for an ARC- or eARC-labeled port on both devices. This is TCL’s recommended option when supported; HDMI-CEC may also allow TV remote volume and mute control.
- Optical: Use this if both devices have optical ports and HDMI ARC/eARC is unavailable or not your preferred connection.
- Bluetooth: A wireless option where supported by both devices. Confirm compatibility and follow the device-specific pairing instructions.
- AUX: An option only if the TV and soundbar both provide a compatible analog connection.
Atmos, eARC, audio passthrough, VRR/ALLM, and TCL TV Ready or Roku TV Ready are not guaranteed to work just because a soundbar advertises them. Check the TV’s specifications and the soundbar’s regional manual for the exact combination of ports and features. TCL notes that support can vary by TV and connection. See TCL’s connection troubleshooting guidance. For TCL’s overview of Atmos soundbars, see TCL’s Dolby Atmos information.
How do you connect a soundbar to a TCL TV?
HDMI ARC/eARC setup
- Check that both devices support ARC or eARC, then connect the TV’s labeled ARC/eARC port to the soundbar’s labeled ARC/eARC port. Use the included HDMI cable if available; TCL advises using a certified High-Speed HDMI cable when a replacement is needed.
- Turn on the soundbar and select its matching HDMI ARC/eARC input.
- In the TV’s audio or connection settings, select the soundbar or HDMI audio output. If needed, enable ARC and HDMI-CEC; menu names differ by TV model.
- Test sound and TV-remote volume control. CEC control depends on compatible devices and enabled settings.
ARC—Audio Return Channel—lets a compatible TV send audio back to a soundbar or receiver over one HDMI cable, according to TCL Support’s ARC guide.

- 3.1 S-Series Sound Bar Fill your room with sound, bringing the movie theater experience into your home with just a single HDMI cable.
- Ray Danz Technology: Experience an expansive soundstage that fills the room with immersive audio.
- Dolby Atmos and DTS:X: Spatial sound from above and behind putting you in the center of movies, music, and games.
- Bluetooth Wireless Music Streaming: Stream your favorite music wirelessly with Bluetooth connectivity that allows you to play your favorite songs from your smartphone, tablet, or other Bluetooth-enabled device.
- Built-In Tweeter: Hear every detail of your favorite movies and music with the built-in center channel tweeter that delivers precise, high-frequency sound to complement the powerful bass.
Optical setup
- Confirm that the TV and soundbar each have an optical port.
- Connect the TV’s optical output to the soundbar’s optical input, then select optical as the soundbar input.
- Set the TV’s audio output to optical or external audio in its sound settings. The label and available options vary by model.
Bluetooth or AUX setup
Use Bluetooth only if both devices support it, and pair them using their model-specific instructions. For AUX, connect the matching audio outputs and inputs and select AUX on the soundbar. These options depend on the ports and capabilities of the exact devices.
What should you compare before choosing?
- System configuration: Compare the manufacturer-listed channel layout and whether a subwoofer or separate speakers are included. Do not use channel count alone as a sound-quality score.
- Connection: Make sure the TV has the same labeled ARC/eARC or optical connection you intend to use.
- Feature compatibility: Verify Atmos, passthrough, VRR/ALLM, and TV Ready support for both exact models and your region.
- Setup and control: HDMI can combine TV audio and, where supported, remote-control functions; the required settings and CEC support vary.
- Space and availability: Check the dimensions, included components, local specifications, current stock, and price with the seller. Current prices and availability are not established here.
What if there is no sound or the remote will not control volume?
- No sound over HDMI: Confirm that the cable runs between the two ARC/eARC-labeled ports, that the soundbar is set to the corresponding input, and that the TV output is set to external audio or the matching HDMI option.
- ARC/eARC does not engage: Check the TV’s ARC and CEC settings, then consult the menus and manual for the exact TV model; TCL notes that setting names vary.
- Sound works but TV remote control does not: Check HDMI-CEC on both devices. A working audio connection does not by itself guarantee remote control.
- Atmos or another advertised feature is missing: Verify the TV, soundbar, connection, and content path all support that feature; the label on the soundbar alone does not confirm compatibility.
- Bluetooth will not pair: Confirm both devices support the pairing method, select the soundbar’s Bluetooth mode, and follow the model-specific pairing steps.
