The right tablet for note taking depends on whether you want a full app-equipped tablet or a digital notebook focused on writing. Among the models with clearly documented note-taking features here, Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S10 FE includes an S Pen, Apple Pencil Pro works only with specific iPad models and is sold separately, and reMarkable Paper Pro is designed around writing and focused work. How to choose a tablet for handwritten notes

Samsung says both the Galaxy Tab S10 FE and Tab S10 FE+ include a pressure-sensitive S Pen for note-taking, drawing, and navigation. Samsung also describes handwriting features in Samsung Notes, including handwriting assist. That bundled pen makes the FE models worth considering if you want to begin writing without sourcing a separate stylus. There is an important feature distinction: Samsung says the included S Pen does not support BLE features. Bluetooth pairing, charging, and Air actions are unavailable with that pen. Do not assume that every S Pen function works with the bundled model.
iPad with Apple Pencil Pro: check the exact iPad model and accessory cost
Apple Pencil Pro supports note-taking and markup, but it is compatible only with selected iPad Air, iPad Pro, and iPad mini models. Apple’s Apple Pencil compatibility guide lists compatible iPad models; check it before purchasing, because Pencil Pro does not work with every iPad. The Pencil is sold separately, so include its cost in the setup you compare.

reMarkable Paper Pro: a writing-focused digital notebook
reMarkable positions Paper Pro as a tablet for writing and focused work, and says handwritten notes can be converted to typed text. Its Paper Pro features page is a useful starting point if handwriting is the priority. The cited product information establishes that writing-focused positioning and conversion feature; it does not establish a like-for-like replacement for a general-purpose tablet’s app, media, or multitasking workflow.

Which one should you choose?
- Choose a Galaxy Tab S10 FE model if a bundled pressure-sensitive pen and Samsung’s Android and Samsung Notes workflow suit you, and the included pen’s BLE limits are acceptable.
