SWI’s €800 million raise was reported by Blockhead on October 12, 2026, but no matching SWI announcement or exchange filing was located in the cited sources. Separately, SWI has confirmed that it acquired a controlling stake of more than 70% in Genesis Digital Assets (GDA) and plans to reposition its mining-oriented infrastructure for artificial intelligence and high-performance computing (HPC). The financing report does not establish that all GDA sites are being converted, that the raise has been independently confirmed, or that it resolves any FTX-estate dispute.
What has been reported—and what SWI has confirmed
Blockhead reported on October 12, 2026, that SWI raised €800 million to expand data-center and AI-compute capacity, including through infrastructure associated with GDA. That amount and the reported use of proceeds remain attributed to Blockhead: the cited sources do not include a matching SWI announcement or exchange filing confirming the financing. Blockhead’s report is the source for the raise.
SWI’s own August 25, 2026 announcement says it completed the acquisition of a controlling stake of more than 70% in GDA and planned to rename the business SWI Digital. The company described the transaction as part of a broader move into digital infrastructure and HPC and GPU-as-a-service. SWI’s announcement confirms the ownership and strategy statements, not the reported €800 million financing.

What SWI says it acquired
In its June 15, 2026 deal announcement, SWI described GDA as comprising 15 facilities and land with more than 1.3 GW of energized and approved grid connections. Those are figures supplied by SWI; the announcement does not present them as independently audited measurements. The same release said SWI would work with GDA management to reposition the assets for AI and HPC workloads. SWI’s release distributed by PR Newswire gives the company’s facility, grid-connection, and repositioning descriptions.

Grid access is relevant to data-center plans because AI and HPC workloads require substantial computing capacity and power. But energized and approved grid connections are not the same as installed computing equipment, completed AI-ready facilities, customer contracts, or operating revenue. The cited announcement does not say that all 15 facilities have been converted or are already serving AI customers.
What “repositioning” mining infrastructure involves
SWI’s stated direction is to adapt infrastructure built for cryptocurrency mining to support AI and HPC. The company’s CEO, Max-Hervé George, called power connectivity a valuable digital-infrastructure asset and described converting legacy mining infrastructure as a potential higher use for it in SWI’s June 2026 announcement. That is the company’s rationale and plan, not evidence that every site can be converted on the same schedule or at the same cost.

For an operator, the useful questions extend beyond how much power is connected. A facility’s readiness for AI workloads, the equipment and conversion work required, access to customers, and the ability to deliver the service all matter. The cited announcements establish SWI’s stated power and facility figures and its repositioning intention; they do not provide a site-by-site conversion schedule, customer-demand data, or deployment results.
How the NVIDIA partnership fits—and what it does not prove
On August 31, 2026, SWI announced that it had become an NVIDIA Cloud Partner Preferred Partner. SWI said the relationship provides access to NVIDIA reference architectures and validated configurations. This adds context to the company’s AI-infrastructure ambitions, but the announcement does not establish customer demand, revenue, or completed deployments. SWI’s partnership announcement describes the status and the company’s stated access.

What the FTX connection means for this report
Blockhead’s financing report connects GDA to prior Alameda Research investment and refers to a recovery claim by the FTX bankruptcy estate. The cited material for that litigation context is secondary reporting. It does not show that SWI’s reported financing resolves the claim, that creditors received proceeds, or that a lawsuit has been settled. Those outcomes should not be inferred from the financing report.
