SurveySparrow and Alchemer both provide survey software, but the right choice depends on your survey workflow, response volume, team size, analysis requirements, and the exact plan that includes the features you need. Alchemer’s published materials document research-oriented capabilities such as advanced logic, offline and kiosk collection on eligible plans, and SPSS exports on Full Access. SurveySparrow’s pricing page makes response limits and survey counts important considerations. The available vendor information does not establish a complete, like-for-like feature and price comparison, so treat plan details as a starting point and confirm them directly before buying.
How to choose between SurveySparrow and Alchemer
Start with the job your surveys must do, rather than a headline feature list or price. Write down the required question and branching logic, how respondents will access the survey, what analyses and exports your team needs, and how many people will build or manage surveys. Then match those requirements to a specific plan from each vendor.
- Consider SurveySparrow if its response-based plan structure and published free option fit your survey volume and scope. Its pricing page describes a free plan with up to three surveys, ten questions per survey, and 50 responses per month.
- Consider Alchemer if you need documented research-oriented workflows or collection and analysis options such as advanced logic, offline or kiosk modes on eligible plans, and SPSS exports on Full Access.
- For either platform, confirm the exact plan, seat count, response allowance, integrations, and security terms against your use case. The published material available here does not establish equivalent SurveySparrow plan-level support for every Alchemer feature listed below.
Compare the workflow your survey requires
Survey design and logic
For simple questionnaires, consider the building tools and question types included in the plan you would actually purchase. If a survey needs branching, answer piping, quotas, disqualification rules, or more complex conditions, check each of those requirements against the current plan matrix before committing.
Alchemer’s small-team plan materials describe basic survey building for Collaborator and position Professional for more powerful features, advanced question types, reporting, and integrations. Its tier matrix lists advanced logic, including multiple conditions and piping or repeating, on higher tiers. Its market research page describes answer piping, branching, skip logic, quotas, and disqualifications. These are vendor-described capabilities; confirm availability for the exact plan and ask SurveySparrow to confirm equivalent support rather than assuming it is absent.

Respondent access and collection conditions
Check where and how respondents will complete the survey. Alchemer’s small-team matrix lists offline and kiosk modes on eligible plans. If respondents may have unreliable internet access, or if surveys will run on a shared device, establish which plan supports the required mode and how responses are stored and synchronized. The available information does not establish a matching SurveySparrow plan detail for these modes.
For broad audience reach, Alchemer’s market research page describes email, web, and SMS distribution, as well as panel services. Map those options to the audience and project at hand, and confirm whether the relevant distribution or panel arrangement is included or separately contracted.

Analysis, exports, and stakeholder reporting
Identify the outputs your team must deliver: raw data, Excel files, SPSS files, cross-tabs, or reports for stakeholders. Alchemer’s market research materials describe TURF and cross-tab reports and SPSS and Excel exports; its small-team matrix identifies SPSS exports for Full Access. Confirm the current tier requirements and any export or reporting limits. Do the same for SurveySparrow using the plan’s current documentation.

Integrations and customization
Alchemer’s market research page describes custom scripting and API customization. Its pricing page says API access is available for Business Platform accounts. Its survey page describes Business Platform capabilities such as in-app feedback tools, automated workflows, core-system integrations, and AI-driven analysis. These are vendor descriptions, not independent performance findings. If an integration or API is essential, verify the supported endpoint or workflow, access tier, and any implementation constraints with the vendor.

Plans, response limits, and price structure
SurveySparrow
SurveySparrow’s pricing page describes a free plan with up to three surveys, ten questions per survey, and up to 50 responses per month. It also describes a 14-day trial of Business features with a limit of 50 responses. The page says a partial response counts as one response and that subscriptions renew quarterly or annually. Confirm the current terms and how the response definition applies to your surveys before estimating capacity.
Alchemer
Alchemer lists Collaborator, Professional, and Full Access small-team plans, along with a custom-quoted Business Platform for larger or more complex needs. Its pricing page says plans for more than three users require a Business Platform account. The page also says API access is available for Business Platform accounts.
Rank #4
The annual amounts displayed on Alchemer’s page, checked in 2026, were $315 for Collaborator, $1,075 for Professional, and $1,895 for Full Access. Treat these as vendor-listed figures, not a complete quote: confirm the currency, billing basis, seat count, taxes, geographic availability, and current price with Alchemer.

The published information does not provide an equivalent SurveySparrow price for matching seats, response volume, features, and billing terms, and the vendors structure their plans differently.
Best Value
Match scale and team size to the plan
Estimate a realistic month or year of use before comparing subscriptions. Include expected complete and partial submissions, the number of surveys, and the number of staff who need access. SurveySparrow’s stated free-plan response allowance is monthly, and its page says partial responses count. Alchemer separates small-team plans from a Business Platform and sets a threshold for teams with more than three users. Ask both vendors to confirm how your projected volume and users affect the plan and total cost.
- Estimate responses for ordinary periods and peak campaigns.
- Count survey builders, administrators, and people who need reporting access.
- List required question types, logic, collection modes, integrations, and exports.
- Compare the same billing period and equivalent scope, not just displayed entry prices.
Check security and governance before purchase
Make a concrete list of required controls, such as encryption, access management, data residency, and contractual compliance terms. Ask each vendor to identify the plan, configuration, and agreement that provide each control. Do not infer that a platform satisfies a legal or organizational requirement simply from general product descriptions; confirm the applicable terms for your jurisdiction and deployment.
A practical evaluation checklist
- Define the survey. Document question types, logic, quotas, respondent channels, collection conditions, and required analysis.
- Set volume and access needs. Estimate survey counts, responses, and staff users, including seasonal peaks.
- Map requirements to exact plans. Use current pricing and feature pages, then ask each vendor to confirm the tier for every must-have capability.
- Verify data and integrations. Confirm required exports, API or system integrations, security controls, and contractual terms in writing.
- Compare equivalent proposals. Align seats, response limits, billing periods, geography, and features before weighing cost.
Alchemer’s market research page also publishes a testimonial from Mary Ann M., a researcher at the Professional Development and Research Institute on Blindness, claiming she spent “80% less time programming surveys.” This is a vendor-hosted testimonial, not an independently audited result or a head-to-head comparison, so it should not be treated as a forecast for your team.
