Sunbound, which provides revenue-cycle software and services for senior-living and skilled-nursing operators, announced on October 15, 2026, that it raised a $24 million Series A led by TTV Capital. The company said the round brings its total funding to $36 million. The announcement also disclosed Sunbound’s completed acquisition of Richter Healthcare Consultants, a long-time specialist in post-acute and senior-living reimbursement.
What Sunbound does
Sunbound sells an AI-powered revenue operating system for the financial workflows that determine whether senior-living providers collect the money they are owed. Its stated coverage runs from an admission through final reconciliation, rather than focusing only on payment collection.

Sunbound said the financing lifts its cumulative funding to $36 million. The company did not disclose a valuation, the allocation of the new capital or terms for individual investors.

Why the Richter acquisition changes Sunbound’s reach
Richter Healthcare Consultants had worked exclusively with post-acute and senior-living operators for more than 25 years. Its services included outsourced revenue-cycle management, accounting, Medicaid eligibility, reimbursement and related consulting.
Sunbound said the acquisition expands its reach into skilled nursing and combines its software with Richter’s human revenue expertise. The deal therefore adds more than another software module: it brings an established services operation into the same business. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The combined companies said they were on track to process $3 billion in annualized payment volume. That is a forward-looking scale claim from the businesses, not an independently audited transaction-volume result.
How the platform addresses senior-living billing
Private-pay and family payments
Senior-living operators often collect recurring amounts from residents or family members while also handling insurance-funded services. Sunbound’s workflow includes private-pay collection alongside payer processes, giving operators one system for payment follow-up, posting and reconciliation instead of separate manual queues.

Eligibility, authorization and claims
For insured services, the system is designed to check coverage and eligibility, support prior authorization, construct and validate claims, and submit them to payers. Catching missing or inconsistent information before submission is intended to reduce avoidable rework and denials.
Denials and appeals
When a payer rejects or underpays a claim, Sunbound says its tools and billing specialists support denial analysis, follow-up and appeals. The stated objective is not merely to recover an individual payment but to identify patterns that can be corrected in future claims.

Maplewood Senior Living’s co-CEO Shane Herlet said Sunbound helped simplify and modernize revenue processes by reducing payment chasing and manual tasks. The statement is a customer testimonial, not a guarantee that every operator will achieve the same result.

The transaction positions Sunbound around a broad revenue-cycle proposition: automate routine work, add specialist support for exceptions, and cover both private-pay and government or commercial insurance workflows. The Richter combination may be especially relevant to skilled-nursing organizations that need Medicaid eligibility and reimbursement expertise as well as software.
Operators evaluating a system should examine whether it connects to their existing clinical, electronic-health-record and billing platforms; how eligibility and claims data are exchanged; who owns denial follow-up; and what implementation work is required. They should also request definitions, time periods and baselines for performance metrics rather than treating headline percentages as universal outcomes.

Sunbound has also described accounts-receivable automation and flexible working-capital capabilities in a Live Oak Ventures announcement, but availability, eligibility and commercial terms for those options require confirmation directly from the company.

Sunbound’s $24 million Series A, led by TTV Capital, funds a broader push to modernize senior-living and skilled-nursing revenue cycles.
