Yes—your PC can run Street Fighter 6 if it meets Steam’s published minimum specifications, but those specifications are not a promise of a fixed frame rate. The minimum target is a 64-bit Windows 10 computer with 8 GB of RAM, an Intel Core i5-7500 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 processor, and a GeForce GTX 1060 (6 GB) or Radeon RX 580 (4 GB). Steam’s recommended tier raises the target to 16 GB of RAM, an Intel Core i7-8700 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600, and a GeForce RTX 2070 or Radeon RX 5700 XT. Steam also warns that frame rate can fall in graphics-intensive scenes, and later updates require additional disk space.
For unstable performance, Capcom’s first documented adjustment is to open Multi Menu → Options → Graphics and set the options under Quality to Low or Lowest. Most graphics changes require a restart. Driver updates, Windows updates, laptop power settings, dedicated-GPU selection, background applications, and Steam file verification are the other official checks.
Street Fighter 6 system requirements at a glance
The figures below are the PC requirements shown on the Steam listing for Street Fighter 6, released June 1, 2023 and checked October 13, 2026. “Minimum” means the configuration Capcom and Steam identify as the starting point for running the game; it does not establish a guaranteed frame rate in every mode or scene. “Recommended” is a higher comparison tier, not a promise that every recommended PC will behave identically.

| DirectX | Version 12 | Version 12 |
| Available storage | 60 GB | 60 GB |
Steam’s 60 GB figure is the listed space for both tiers. Keep additional free capacity available because Steam says each subsequent update needs more storage. A drive that has exactly 60 GB free may therefore become a problem when a patch is downloaded, unpacked, or installed.

Can my PC run Street Fighter 6?
Compare your complete system with the minimum column rather than checking only the graphics card. A computer is below the published minimum if any required area falls short. Use the following checklist:
- Windows: Confirm that the installed edition is 64-bit Windows 10 or newer. The minimum listing names Windows 10 64-bit; Windows 11 appears in the recommended tier.
- CPU: Identify the exact processor model. An i5 or Ryzen label by itself is not enough because generations and model numbers differ substantially.
- RAM: Check total installed memory. 8 GB is the minimum listing; 16 GB is the recommended amount.
- GPU: Verify the dedicated graphics model and its VRAM. The minimum examples are GTX 1060 6 GB and RX 580 4 GB.
- DirectX: The listing calls for DirectX 12.
- Storage: Reserve at least 60 GB for the listed installation and leave extra room for future updates.
If your machine is under one of those minimum values, Capcom says poor frame rate or failure to run can result. If it meets the minimum, the game may launch and operate, but the Steam listing specifically cautions that frame rate can drop in graphics-intensive scenes. Meeting the recommended tier gives you a stronger starting point; it still does not provide an FPS guarantee or establish identical behavior across every scene and game mode.
What the minimum and recommended tiers mean
Processor headroom
The minimum CPU examples—Core i5-7500 and Ryzen 3 1200—define the lower published target. The recommended examples—Core i7-8700 and Ryzen 5 3600—are newer, higher-tier references intended to provide more processing headroom. These are example models from the Steam listing, not a universal pass/fail test for every processor. A different CPU can be suitable, but its generation, core configuration, clock behavior, cooling, and background workload all affect actual results.

Graphics memory and GPU class
VRAM is explicitly part of the minimum graphics specification: 6 GB for the GTX 1060 example and 4 GB for the RX 580 example. The recommended examples are an RTX 2070 and RX 5700 XT. Steam names those cards as its recommended tier; it does not present them as current market-value recommendations or say that buying one guarantees a particular resolution or frame rate. Treat them as reference points when comparing a newer or older card.
System memory
Eight gigabytes is the minimum listing and 16 GB is recommended. Available RAM can be reduced by Windows, a browser, recording software, launchers, and other programs. Consequently, a PC that technically has 8 GB installed may have less available to the game. Capcom’s troubleshooting advice specifically includes closing applications that consume substantial CPU, GPU, memory, or input/output bandwidth.

Operating system, DirectX, and storage
Both tiers require DirectX 12. The minimum operating-system entry is 64-bit Windows 10, while the recommended entry allows 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11. The same 60 GB storage figure appears in both columns, but Steam warns that every later update needs additional space. Storage capacity is therefore an installation requirement, not a complete long-term maintenance allowance.
Best PC settings for smooth play
Capcom’s official guidance focuses on lowering the game’s Quality settings when frame rate is unstable. Use this sequence before changing unrelated system settings:
- Start Street Fighter 6 and open the Multi Menu.
- Choose Options.
- Open the Graphics tab.
- Under Quality, set the available options to Low or Lowest.
- Apply the changes and restart the game. Capcom says most graphics-setting changes require a restart to take effect.
This is a stability-first setting, not a claim that Low or Lowest is visually optimal for every PC. If the game becomes stable, you can raise settings cautiously in later sessions, restarting whenever the game requests it. Change one group at a time and observe the same type of scene that previously exposed the problem; that makes it possible to identify which change caused performance to deteriorate again.
Do not infer a guaranteed frame rate from the menu label. Neither the Steam requirements nor Capcom’s troubleshooting guide supplies resolution-by-resolution FPS targets, mode-specific benchmarks, or a threshold at which a particular preset should run.

1. Confirm the minimum hardware
Recheck the CPU, GPU and VRAM, RAM, 64-bit Windows version, DirectX 12 support, and available storage against Steam’s minimum table. Capcom says falling below the minimum can cause poor frame rate or prevent the game from running. If the computer is below the graphics or processor target, software adjustments may not overcome the hardware limitation.
2. Update the graphics driver and Windows
Install current updates for the graphics driver and Windows, then restart the computer. Capcom lists both updates as basic checks for instability. Use the update mechanism appropriate to your GPU and Windows installation, and avoid judging the result until the system has actually restarted.
3. Make sure the game uses the dedicated GPU
On a laptop with integrated and dedicated graphics, verify that Street Fighter 6 is assigned to the dedicated or high-performance GPU. Capcom notes that some integrated graphics may work but have not been tested or officially supported. A laptop can therefore appear to have a suitable dedicated card while the game is actually running on the lower-power integrated processor.
4. Connect the laptop to power
Plug in the laptop and check its system power plan. Battery-saving modes can alter available performance, so compare results while connected to AC power with an appropriate performance-oriented plan selected. This is especially important when symptoms appear only on battery.
5. Close competing applications
Exit programs that use significant CPU, GPU, memory, or input/output bandwidth. Examples include recording or streaming tools, browser sessions with many tabs, large file transfers, and other demanding applications. Capcom’s recommendation is category-based rather than a promise that closing one particular program will solve every case.

6. Verify the Steam game files
If instability remains after the settings and system checks, use Steam’s file-verification function for the installation. Verification can detect damaged or missing files. It does not upgrade below-minimum hardware, so continue to use the requirements comparison when diagnosing a persistent limitation.
Match the symptom to the next check
The game will not start
Begin with the minimum requirements, 64-bit Windows, DirectX 12, driver and Windows updates, and available storage. If the system is a dual-GPU laptop, confirm that the dedicated GPU is selected. A missing requirement is a more fundamental issue than a visual-quality preset.
Frame rate is unstable everywhere
Lower the Graphics-tab Quality options to Low or Lowest, restart, and then check drivers, Windows updates, power mode, background applications, and file integrity. If the instability persists, record the exact settings and scene in which it occurs rather than assuming that a single preset is responsible.
Only demanding scenes slow down
Steam expressly warns that frame rate may drop during graphics-intensive scenes. Compare behavior before and after lowering Quality settings, but do not convert that observation into a universal FPS expectation. The published sources do not provide mode-specific benchmarks.

Use the Steam recommended tier as a reference when deciding whether an upgrade is warranted: Core i7-8700 or Ryzen 5 3600 for the CPU class, RTX 2070 or RX 5700 XT for the GPU class, and 16 GB of RAM. The RTX 2070 and RX 5700 XT are older examples named by Steam, not advice to buy a particular current product or an assertion about present-day value. A sensible comparison asks whether the proposed replacement is at least comparable in CPU capability, graphics performance and VRAM, rather than relying on a model number alone.
Upgrade decisions should also account for the rest of the system. A stronger GPU cannot compensate for a processor below the minimum, insufficient system memory, an unsuitable power supply, inadequate cooling, or a laptop that cannot physically accept a replacement. The official requirements do not specify a power-supply wattage, display resolution, refresh rate, or cooling model, so those details must be checked against the individual computer before purchasing parts.
What the published requirements do not tell you
The Steam page supplies two comparison tiers, not a complete performance matrix. It does not establish:
- A guaranteed frame rate for minimum or recommended hardware.
- Expected FPS at a particular resolution, refresh rate, or graphics preset.
- Separate requirements for individual game modes or scenes.
- A current benchmark score or a downloadable benchmark threshold.
- Whether every integrated GPU will work; Capcom says some may work but are not tested or officially supported.
- A required controller model. A controller can be an optional way to play, but the cited requirements do not make a specific controller mandatory.
Those omissions matter when interpreting online videos or forum claims. Results from a user-uploaded video, a different patch, or a different resolution cannot be treated as an official guarantee for your PC.
What to include in a Capcom support report
If the official checks do not resolve the problem, Capcom asks for enough system and context information to reproduce it. Prepare:
- CPU model.
- GPU model and VRAM amount.
- Installed memory.
- Operating-system version.
- Graphics-driver version.
- The graphics settings recorded in
config.ini. - When the issue occurs, including the scene or activity in which it appears.
Providing the settings and timing of the symptom is more useful than reporting only that the game feels slow. Note whether Low or Lowest Quality settings and a restart changed the behavior, and identify whether the issue is constant, scene-dependent, battery-dependent, or limited to a particular session.
A practical decision path
- Below minimum: Treat the system as unsupported by the published target. Upgrading the component below minimum is the primary remedy.
- At minimum but unstable: Use Low or Lowest Quality settings, restart, update drivers and Windows, connect laptops to power, select the dedicated GPU, close demanding applications, and verify files.
- At recommended but unstable: Perform the same checks rather than assuming the hardware is defective. Steam still warns about demanding scenes, and the recommended tier is not an FPS guarantee.
- Stable after lowering Quality: Keep the stable configuration for play, then raise settings gradually only if visual quality is more important than maximum consistency.
- Still unstable after every official check: Gather the CPU, GPU/VRAM, RAM, OS, driver,
config.inisettings, and occurrence details for Capcom support.
Bottom line
Street Fighter 6’s published PC target starts at a GTX 1060 6 GB or RX 580 4 GB, 8 GB of RAM, and a Core i5-7500 or Ryzen 3 1200 on 64-bit Windows 10 with DirectX 12. The recommended comparison point is an RTX 2070 or RX 5700 XT, 16 GB of RAM, and a Core i7-8700 or Ryzen 5 3600. Neither tier guarantees a fixed frame rate. For smoothness problems, lower Graphics Quality to Low or Lowest, restart, and then work through Capcom’s driver, Windows, GPU-selection, power, background-app, and file-verification checks.
