Street Fighter 6 treats an outfit and a color as two separate choices. An outfit slot is the costume design itself—such as Outfit 1, Outfit 2, or Outfit 3—while a color is a palette assigned to that particular outfit. Unlocking a palette does not unlock a different costume, and Capcom has not established that one color automatically carries across every outfit.
Costume access depends on the fighter, game mode, content update, pass, or promotion. Some Outfit 2 costumes can be earned through Avatar Arcade or World Tour conditions; paid passes can add specified outfits and colors; and limited campaigns can impose extra ownership and code requirements.
Outfit slots and colors are different customization layers
Think of each fighter’s customization as two decisions made in sequence:
Recommended Free Tools
- Outfit: the underlying costume design or slot, such as Outfit 1, Outfit 2, or Outfit 3.
- Color: a palette option for the selected outfit.
Selecting Outfit 2 does not automatically grant every color made for Outfit 1. Likewise, obtaining a color does not create a new outfit slot. The official Street Fighter 6 amiibo manual makes the distinction explicit by allowing players to save a character’s “outfit” and “outfit color” as separate settings.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Color availability is therefore best understood as fighter plus outfit plus palette. If a palette appears to be missing, first check that you are looking at the correct outfit slot rather than assuming the color failed to unlock.
How to change a character’s costume color
The labels and location of customization controls can vary by mode and by later game updates, so follow the on-screen customization guidance for your current version. The selection logic is consistent:
- Open the mode’s fighter-selection or character-customization screen.
- Choose the fighter whose appearance you want to change.
- Select the owned outfit slot. Outfit 1, Outfit 2, and Outfit 3 are separate entries when available for that character.
- Open the color or palette choices for that specific outfit.
- Choose an unlocked color and confirm the selection. If you are changing a preset for an event, battle, or saved profile, verify that the mode has saved the change before leaving.
Do not expect a color selected for one outfit to recolor another costume unless the game explicitly shows that palette in the other outfit’s list. The reviewed Capcom material does not establish a universal carryover rule, and individual outfits can have their own color availability.

Read the lock message rather than treating every lock as a purchase prompt. It may point to a pass, a character-specific progression condition, a Fighter Coin purchase, or a time-limited promotion. Requirements can also differ between fighters and between content updates.

How to unlock Outfit 2 in Street Fighter 6
There is no single account-wide Outfit 2 recipe. Capcom has documented more than one route, and the correct route is character-specific.
Earned routes: Avatar Arcade and World Tour
For some fighters, Outfit 2 is earned by progressing through Avatar Arcade or by meeting conditions in World Tour. The exact objective can depend on the character and the update that introduced or changed the content. Use the fighter’s current in-game guidance as the authority: it will identify whether the requirement is an activity, a relationship or story condition, or another piece of progression.
Because the conditions are not universal, completing a requirement for one fighter does not prove that another fighter uses the same route. If a character’s Outfit 2 entry does not mention your current mode, check the other supported progression route before spending currency.
Paid routes through passes
An Ultimate Pass can include Outfit 2 and Outfit 3 costumes for the characters covered by that pass. This is a content entitlement, not a replacement for the game itself: Capcom’s June 29, 2026 pass announcement states that the base Street Fighter 6 game is required. Confirm the pass’s character list and platform account before buying, because an Ultimate Pass does not mean every fighter in the roster receives every costume.

Individual availability
Capcom also announced that Year 3 Outfit 3 costumes can be obtained individually with Fighter Coins. That statement concerns the announced Outfit 3 content; it should not be generalized into a claim that every Outfit 2 or every color is individually purchasable.
What Character Passes and Ultimate Passes include
The following table reflects Capcom’s June 29, 2026 pass announcement and the later Year 4 announcement. It describes the specified bundle contents, not a complete list of every costume or palette available in the game.
| Content type | Announced costume or color benefits | Important conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Character Pass | Four additional characters, Outfit 1 Colors 3–10, and Drive Tickets | Requires the base Street Fighter 6 game; benefits apply to the characters and content covered by that pass. |
| Ultimate Pass | All Character Pass content, plus Outfit 2 and Outfit 3 costumes and additional Drive Tickets | Requires the base game; exact character and release coverage follows the specific pass. |
| Year 4 Ultimate Pass | Outfit 2 and Outfit 3 each include Colors 1–10, according to Capcom’s 2026 announcement | This is a Year 4 bundle specification, not proof that every other year’s outfit has the same color range. |
The distinction matters when comparing a free or earned route with a paid bundle. A Character Pass’s listed Outfit 1 Colors 3–10 are palettes, not new costume designs. An Ultimate Pass adds costume slots as well as the other listed content. Neither description should be read as a promise that colors unlocked for one outfit become available for all outfits.

No universal rule covers every color. The official pass specifications establish that Character Passes include Outfit 1 Colors 3–10, while Ultimate Passes add Outfit 2 and Outfit 3 costumes. Other colors can have different acquisition terms, including character progression, Fighter Coins, or a promotion with its own eligibility rules.

Do not use a color number as a guarantee of availability. “Colors 3–10” describes what the cited Character Pass includes; it does not establish that every fighter, every outfit, or every later update uses the same numbering or count. Check the current in-game entry and the pass description for the relevant character.
Free or earned versus paid: what to compare
| Route | What it may grant | Typical requirement to verify |
|---|---|---|
| World Tour or Avatar Arcade progression | An earned Outfit 2 for a particular fighter, where that fighter supports the route | Character-specific objective and the required game mode or progression state |
| Character Pass | Four additional characters, Outfit 1 Colors 3–10, and Drive Tickets | Base game and the correct pass; this is primarily a character-and-palette bundle, not a blanket Outfit 2 entitlement |
| Ultimate Pass | Character Pass content plus covered Outfit 2 and Outfit 3 costumes | Base game, correct pass, and the characters included in that pass |
| Fighter Coin purchase | Announced Year 3 Outfit 3 costumes available individually | Fighter Coin balance, supported character, and current store availability |
| Limited promotion | A special color tied to a campaign | Campaign-specific game, DLC, outfit, platform, code-entry method, and expiry window |
Prices and store availability change by platform and territory. Check the live platform store and the current in-game shop rather than relying on an old price or a listing from another region.

Promotional colors may require more than owning the fighter. Capcom’s October 9, 2026 M. Bison movie commemorative campaign, for example, required the base game, the applicable Year 2 DLC, and that character’s Outfit 2. The campaign also defined eligible platforms and a bounded code period. If the code was entered before Outfit 2 was acquired, Capcom stated that the color becomes usable after Outfit 2 is obtained.
Those are rules for that campaign, not a universal special-color system. Before redeeming a code, read the live campaign terms for the supported platform, territory, code-entry deadline, required DLC, and required outfit. A code can be valid while the color remains unusable until the linked outfit requirement is satisfied.

Do you need an amiibo to customize a fighter?
No. Amiibo is optional. The official Street Fighter 6 manual describes two relevant functions:
- Receiving amiibo-only special items, where supported.
- Writing a favorite fighter’s outfit, outfit color, and button presets to the amiibo.
The manual’s amiibo feature is accessed from Battle Hub or World Tour, not as a requirement for ordinary costume selection. You can change outfits and colors without owning an amiibo. Treat the figure as a convenience for storing or recalling settings and for any amiibo-specific items, not as a key that unlocks the game’s standard customization system.
Fighter costume colors versus your World Tour avatar’s clothing
Your created World Tour avatar and a roster fighter use different customization systems. Fighter colors are palettes attached to a named fighter’s outfit slot. Avatar clothing is equipment for the created character. The official material reviewed does not establish that a fighter’s color can be transferred into an avatar clothing-dye system, nor does it provide a universal avatar-color procedure.

Troubleshooting missing outfits and colors
The color is not listed
- Confirm that the intended outfit slot is selected; a palette can belong to Outfit 1 while you are viewing Outfit 2.
- Check whether the color is tied to a pass, Fighter Coins, progression, or a promotional code.
- Verify that the relevant character DLC and pass entitlement belong to the same platform account and game edition.
- For a campaign color, check the code window and any prerequisite outfit or DLC.
Outfit 2 did not unlock after playing
- Review that fighter’s current in-game guidance; another character may use different conditions.
- Confirm whether the requirement is in World Tour or Avatar Arcade rather than the mode you were using.
- If you purchased a pass, verify that the fighter is covered by that pass and that the base game requirement is met.
The amiibo setting is unavailable
Use the amiibo feature from a supported Battle Hub or World Tour context described by the manual. Remember that amiibo stores a selected outfit, color, and button preset; it does not replace ownership or progression requirements for costumes.
A color works on one costume but not another
That behavior is consistent with outfit-specific palettes. Reopen the other outfit’s own color list and check its unlock condition instead of assuming the first outfit’s palette should carry over.
Quick Recap
A practical decision checklist
- Decide whether you need a new costume design or only a different palette. If you need a new design, look for Outfit 2 or Outfit 3; a color unlock alone will not provide it.
- Identify the fighter and the exact outfit slot. Requirements and available colors can differ by character and outfit.
- Check the earned route first: the character may point to Avatar Arcade or World Tour.
- Compare the relevant Character Pass or Ultimate Pass description. Character Passes list Outfit 1 Colors 3–10; Ultimate Passes add covered Outfit 2 and Outfit 3 costumes.
- For a promotional color, verify the campaign’s platform, code dates, DLC, outfit, and base-game requirements before redeeming.
- Use amiibo only if you want special items or a portable way to store a fighter’s outfit, color, and button presets.
