Fighter Coins are the paid route; Drive Tickets are the earned route. You buy Fighter Coins for shop transactions, while Drive Tickets come from challenges or events and can be exchanged only when the specific item accepts them. The currency choice therefore depends first on the costume’s live listing, not on a universal rule for every outfit.
For the launch-roster examples documented by Capcom, Outfit 2 has had a World Tour unlock path as well as a Fighter Coin purchase option, while Outfit 3 cannot be unlocked through World Tour. Capcom’s December 1, 2023 announcement priced those launch-roster Outfit 3 costumes at 300 Fighter Coins per character. Later characters, current prices and accepted currencies can differ, so check the in-game listing before confirming a purchase.
Fighter Coins and Drive Tickets: what each currency does
Street Fighter 6 uses two different currencies for optional content, and they are not interchangeable by default.
Fighter Coins
Fighter Coins are the game’s primary shop currency. Capcom’s official web manual describes them as currency used for transactions and generally purchased when you need it. In practical terms, they are the direct paid-currency route for a costume or pass whenever the shop lists Fighter Coins as an accepted payment method.

A Fighter Coin price is tied to a particular item listing and date. The best-known official example is the launch-roster Outfit 3 release: Capcom announced a price of 300 Fighter Coins per character when those costumes went on sale on December 1, 2023. That figure is evidence for that release, not a promise that every future costume will use 300 coins.
Drive Tickets
Drive Tickets are vouchers earned through in-game activities rather than bought as the normal transaction currency. Capcom’s manual states: “Drive Tickets Vouchers that can be traded for content if held in large quantities. These can be acquired as rewards from challenges or events.”
The wording matters. Tickets can be exchanged for content only when the selected content supports them, and the manual does not establish that every costume accepts Drive Tickets. It also does not provide a single universal earning rate or a complete current price table. Treat the item’s live shop entry as the authority for whether tickets are valid and how many are required.

Neither currency should be chosen until you inspect the exact character and costume entry. A shop may show one currency, both currencies, or a different acquisition condition.
Which costume routes are documented?
Outfit 2: World Tour or shop purchase for the launch roster
Capcom’s launch-roster Outfit 2 announcement described two acquisition routes. You could meet the required conditions in World Tour, or you could purchase the outfit in the in-game shop with Fighter Coins. The announcement also noted that the World Tour acquisition requires an online connection.
This is a play-based route for the launch roster, not evidence that every later character has identical requirements. If you are pursuing Outfit 2 for a character added after launch, open that character’s current listing and confirm whether World Tour conditions, Drive Tickets, Fighter Coins or a pass are offered.
Outfit 3: Fighter Coin purchase, not World Tour
Capcom France states that Outfit 3 cannot be unlocked through World Tour, unlike Outfit 2. For the launch-roster Outfit 3 set, Capcom’s December 1, 2023 announcement specified 300 Fighter Coins per character.

That distinction prevents a common mistake: spending time raising a World Tour relationship or meeting a World Tour condition for an Outfit 3 unlock that the documented route does not support. If you want Outfit 3, check the shop listing and any currently offered bundle; do not assume a World Tour unlock exists.

Later characters and changing listings
Street Fighter 6 content is released in waves, and shop inventories can change by character, platform and region. The official material available for this comparison does not establish a complete, current per-character catalog of costume prices or Drive Ticket eligibility. A later character may have a different price, a pass-only route, a ticket option, or no listing at a particular time.
Use the launch-roster examples as route descriptions, not as a blanket table for every fighter. The live listing for the character you want takes precedence over an old announcement.
How to check a costume before spending
- Open the in-game shop and select the exact character. Do not rely on a general Outfit 2 or Outfit 3 description. Select the individual costume entry you intend to obtain.
- Read the accepted payment methods. Look for Fighter Coins, Drive Tickets, a World Tour condition, a pass entitlement, or a combination. If Drive Tickets are not shown, assume they cannot be used for that item.
- Record the full requirement. Note the coin or ticket amount, whether the entry says “per character,” and any requirement such as an online World Tour connection. A dated price from an announcement may not match a later listing.
- Check whether you already own the entitlement. A Character Pass or Ultimate Pass may include the costume or character. Buying coins for an item already included in a pass wastes the paid currency.
- Compare the scope of the purchase. A single costume gives you one item. A pass may cover several characters, colors, costumes and tickets, but only the contents listed for your year, platform and region count.
- Confirm the platform and region. Store catalogs and bundles are not necessarily identical. Verify the listing attached to your copy of the game before payment.
- Only then confirm the transaction. Keep enough Fighter Coins or Drive Tickets for the exact amount shown; do not assume a future discount, exchange rate or ticket price.
When Drive Tickets are the better choice
Drive Tickets are the logical first option when three conditions are all true: you already have enough tickets, the target costume explicitly accepts them, and you are trying to avoid a new paid-currency purchase. Challenges and events are the documented sources, so players who regularly complete those activities may be able to fund eligible content without buying coins.

There is no official universal earning-rate comparison that lets you convert a ticket cost into a fixed number of matches, days or hours. Do not treat community estimates as a guaranteed schedule. Your available ticket balance and the current item requirement are the only reliable numbers for the decision.
Tickets also make sense when you are flexible about timing. An event reward may require waiting for the event or completing its challenge, whereas Fighter Coins can be used as soon as the shop exposes the item. That is a convenience difference, not proof that one currency has a better exchange value. If the listing accepts both, decide whether preserving cash or obtaining the costume immediately matters more.
When Fighter Coins are the better choice
Fighter Coins make sense when the costume is not ticket-eligible, when you need it immediately, or when the listing offers no play-based unlock. They are also the documented shop route for the launch-roster Outfit 3 release, priced at 300 coins per character in Capcom’s December 1, 2023 announcement.
Buying coins for one costume is a narrow transaction. Before doing so, check whether the same character’s outfit is included in a pass you were already considering and whether the shop lists a World Tour route for Outfit 2. A paid purchase may be convenient, but convenience is not proof that it is the lowest-cost route for your situation.

Capture the displayed amount and the number of characters covered before confirming.

How passes change the calculation
Passes combine content, so they should be compared with the exact costume purchase rather than treated as automatically better value.
Character Pass contents
In Capcom’s June 29, 2026 announcement, Character Passes were described as including four additional characters, Outfit 1 Colors 3–10, and Drive Tickets. The base game is required separately. Pass contents differ among years, so “Character Pass” alone is not enough information; identify the year and read its itemized contents.
Ultimate Pass contents
The same announcement states: “Each Ultimate Pass includes all Character Pass content, plus Outfit 2 & 3 costumes and additional Drive Tickets.” An Ultimate Pass can therefore matter if you want several additional characters and both costume sets, but it is broader than buying one outfit.

A Capcom Town Store listing for the North American Steam Year 3 Ultimate Pass specifies Outfit 2 and Outfit 3 for its four additional characters and 5,800 bonus Drive Tickets. Those 5,800 tickets belong to that particular package listing. They should not be reused as a universal amount for every Ultimate Pass, store or region. The listing was accessed October 13, 2026, and store contents can change.
Use this checklist before choosing a pass:
- Does the pass include the character you actually want?
- Does it include the specific Outfit 2 or Outfit 3 set, rather than only a color variation?
- Are the listed Drive Tickets useful for the content you plan to buy?
- Is the pass for your platform and region?
- Would a single costume purchase meet your goal without paying for characters or cosmetics you will not use?
- Do you already own part of the pass content through an earlier purchase?
Cost, scope and ownership checks
The cheapest-looking route can be misleading if it includes content you would not otherwise buy. For one launch-roster Outfit 3, the dated 300-Fighter-Coin listing is a direct one-character comparison. For a player who wants multiple additional fighters, colors and both costume sets, a pass has a wider scope and may also provide Drive Tickets. The correct comparison is the complete item list, not the headline name.
Make a short inventory before opening the store: the character you want, the outfit number, whether you need one character or several, your current ticket balance, and the passes already attached to your account. Then compare only prices and entitlements shown for your platform and region. This avoids paying twice for a character, costume or ticket allotment.
Remember that the base game is separate from the pass products described in Capcom’s June 29, 2026 announcement. A pass is add-on content; owning it does not replace the required game. Likewise, a pass listing that includes Outfit 2 and Outfit 3 for four additional characters does not establish that every fighter in the roster receives those costumes.

Assuming every costume accepts Drive Tickets
Drive Tickets are not a universal substitute for Fighter Coins. The manual describes what tickets are and how they are earned, but it does not say that every costume can be purchased with them. Always verify the payment icons or wording on the selected item.

Applying the 300-coin figure to every Outfit 3
300 Fighter Coins per character is the dated launch-roster price announced for December 1, 2023. It is not a permanent global price guarantee for every current or future Outfit 3 listing. Keep the date and launch-roster qualification attached to that number.
Expecting World Tour to unlock Outfit 3
The documented distinction is the opposite: Capcom France says Outfit 3 cannot be unlocked through World Tour, while Outfit 2 has a World Tour route for the launch roster. Check the outfit number before investing time in World Tour requirements.
Assuming a launch-roster route applies to new characters
The Outfit 2 announcement describes the launch roster. Later characters may use different conditions or packages. Verify each later character individually.

The 5,800-ticket example is specifically a North American Steam Year 3 Ultimate Pass listing. Platform, region and pass year can change the contents. Read the listing attached to your account and platform.
Buying before checking ownership
Pass entitlements and previously purchased content can affect what you need. Review your owned add-ons and the costume’s current status before spending Fighter Coins or buying another bundle.
Confusing colors with costumes
A pass can advertise Outfit 1 Colors 3–10 without including Outfit 2 or Outfit 3. Read the item names carefully. A color entitlement is not automatically a second or third outfit, and an Ultimate Pass’s costume inclusion should be verified character by character.

- Want Outfit 2 for a launch-roster character? Check whether you can meet its World Tour conditions with the required online connection. If not, compare the shop’s Fighter Coin option with any current ticket or pass listing.
- Want Outfit 3? Do not plan on a World Tour unlock. Check the live shop entry, then compare its Fighter Coin price with an eligible pass.
- Have Drive Tickets saved? Use them only if the exact item lists them and your balance covers the stated amount.
- Want several characters and costumes? Compare the relevant Character Pass or Ultimate Pass contents with the total of the individual items you would otherwise buy. Use the pass year, platform and region shown in the listing.
- Want one item immediately? Fighter Coins are the straightforward paid route when listed, but confirm that no owned pass or play-based unlock already covers it.
- Are you unsure which currency is accepted? Stop at the item details screen. Do not buy tickets or coins speculatively; the accepted-currency icons are the decisive information.
What is not established by the official information
There is no complete current universal exchange table covering every costume, no single Drive Ticket earning rate, and no guarantee that all platforms or regions display the same prices and bundles. The official sources also do not support a fixed conversion such as “one Fighter Coin equals a certain number of Drive Tickets.” Any such calculation would be an estimate, not a rule of Street Fighter 6.
For that reason, the safest workflow is item-first: select the character and costume, read the current eligibility and amount, then compare that listing with your ticket balance, World Tour options and pass ownership.
