To change a Streamlabs alert animation, open Alert Box in the Streamlabs Dashboard, choose either Global Editing or a specific platform and alert event, adjust the animation settings, and save. Preview or test the alert before going live so you can check both its entrance and exit.
How do I change an alert animation in Streamlabs?
- Open the Streamlabs Dashboard and select Alert Box.
- Choose the scope of the change: use Global Editing for shared settings, or select the platform and event you want to customize.
- Open the animation controls and choose how the alert should appear and disappear. If the alert includes animated text, adjust its text animation separately as needed.
- Save your settings before leaving the section.
- Use Live Preview or the dashboard’s Test menu to check the result. In Streamlabs Desktop, you can also use Test Widgets. An outro may not appear until Live Preview ends.
Streamlabs documents alert setup in its Alert Box setup guide and its guide to adding alerts for Twitch, YouTube, or Facebook. Interface labels can change over time, but the key choice is whether to edit shared settings or an individual alert.
How do I change the animation for one alert?
In Alert Box, select the relevant platform and event—such as a follow or subscription—rather than editing the global settings. Change that event’s animation options and save. This lets one type of alert have a different entrance or exit from the others.

Animation settings vs. the alert’s image or video
An animation setting controls how the alert appears or disappears, and may also control text motion. The image or video is the visual asset displayed as part of the alert. If you want to replace the graphic rather than change its movement, select or upload a different asset in the Alert Box settings.
Streamlabs lists PNG, GIF, JPG/JPEG, WebP, WebM, and MP4 as supported visual formats, and says users can choose stock media or upload their own. Audio is a separate option; the setup guide lists MP3, OGG, and WAV support. Only use media you have permission to use. Streamlabs also discusses finding graphics and sound effects in its guide to alert graphics and sound effects.
