To move your Straight Talk number to Verizon, keep the Straight Talk line active, get its account number and one-time Number Transfer PIN, then submit the port through Verizon’s number-transfer or activation flow. Don’t cancel Straight Talk first: Verizon says the old service disconnects automatically when the transfer finishes.
Before you start: keep your Straight Talk number active
Do not cancel Straight Talk or let the line lapse while Verizon is processing the transfer. Verizon says service with the old carrier continues during the switch, and Straight Talk says a number inactive for more than 30 days may be lost. If the line is already inactive, contact Straight Talk promptly; its support guidance does not promise that a particular inactive number can be recovered.
Gather the information Verizon will need

- The full name on the Straight Talk account.
- Your Straight Talk account number.
- The one-time Number Transfer PIN issued for the port.
- The billing address associated with the Straight Talk account.
- A separate contact number where Verizon can reach you while the transfer is underway.
Straight Talk lists the first five items for a port request; Verizon asks for the current number, account number, transfer PIN and an alternate contact number. The Number Transfer PIN is a port-authorization credential, not your regular account PIN or account-login password. Get the one-time PIN from Straight Talk before submitting the request, and enter only the credential Verizon asks for.

Check whether you can keep using your phone
If you want to bring your current phone, confirm with Verizon that the device is eligible and make sure Straight Talk has unlocked it. Have the Verizon physical SIM or eSIM information ready as appropriate for your phone and activation. The right option depends on the particular device and activation path; there is no single SIM method that applies to every phone.
Transfer the number through Verizon
- Start a Verizon bring-your-number or new-line activation. Check whether the number is eligible to transfer.
- Enter the Straight Talk details when prompted. Provide the active number, Straight Talk account number and one-time Number Transfer PIN, along with any other requested account information.
- Provide an alternate contact number. Use a number you can access during the transfer, since the number being moved may not be fully working on Verizon yet.
- Submit the request as an authorized account holder. Verizon requires the person initiating the transfer to be authorized on the account.
- Check the request status. Use Verizon’s transfer-status page to follow the submitted request.
What to expect while the port is underway
Keep the Straight Talk service available until Verizon confirms the transfer is complete. Verizon says the old-carrier service continues during the switch. The Verizon line may be able to make calls before it can receive them; incoming calls may not work on the transferred number until the port finishes.

Straight Talk says its port-in process could take up to seven days. That is a carrier-published estimate, not a guaranteed duration for every transfer. If the request is delayed or rejected, check its status with Verizon and contact the carriers for the specific reason and next step.
After Verizon completes the transfer
Test calls and text messages using the transferred number once Verizon confirms completion. Straight Talk says service associated with the number is deactivated immediately after a successful port-out, and unused plan days are forfeited. Its terms do not establish account-specific refund treatment beyond that warning.

If the transfer fails or stalls
Review the details you submitted and correct any mismatch before retrying or contacting support. Common preventable issues include:
- The Straight Talk number is inactive or has lapsed.
- The account number, billing address or account name does not match Straight Talk’s records.
- The transfer PIN is missing or invalid, or an ordinary account PIN was entered instead.
- The request was submitted by someone who is not an authorized account holder.
- You expect to keep your phone, but it is locked or Verizon has not confirmed its eligibility.
For a request-specific status or eligibility result, use Verizon’s transfer-status and number-check process. If the source line is inactive, contact Straight Talk promptly because its support guidance warns that a number inactive for more than 30 days may be lost.
