To stop optional resources from downloading automatically in Call of Duty: Mobile, open the lobby’s down-arrow Download Manager and look in its settings for Stop Downloading All Resources or an Auto Download switch. If available, turn automatic downloads off and enable Ask Before Downloading. These labels come from a secondary walkthrough and may differ by game build or region; Activision confirms the Download Manager’s location but does not document those exact controls.
Turn off automatic resource downloads

From the main lobby, tap the down-arrow Download Manager icon near the bottom of the screen. Activision identifies this route in its Android version 35.0 update notes.

Open the manager’s settings or automatic-download controls. Depending on your build, look for Stop Downloading All Resources or Auto Download.

Enable Stop Downloading All Resources or switch Auto Download off, whichever control your game shows. If there is an Ask Before Downloading option, turn it on so the game prompts you before fetching optional resources. The labels are reported by a walkthrough checked August 25, 2026, rather than specified in Activision’s documentation, so they may not match your screen exactly. Tech How’s walkthrough

Return to the Download Manager and review its queue. Keep the files for the maps, modes, and other content you intend to use; if a selected map or mode needs a file that is not installed, download that required resource before playing.
What disabling automatic downloads does—and does not do
This setting is for controlling optional resource downloads, not a way to block every download in the game. Call of Duty: Mobile offers additional selectable downloads such as HD resources, maps, weapons, and operators, according to its official App Store listing. Some content is needed to use a particular map or feature, and update-related downloads may still be required.

Activision’s version 35.0 notes say that, after updating, some content had to be downloaded again through the in-app Download Manager. For that update, Android players had to download the Isolated Battle Royale map before playing it and download HD audio to restore the higher audio quality. Activision said those two items were included in the iOS base app for that update; this is version-specific behavior, not a permanent platform rule. Activision’s version 35.0 update notes

If the game says a map or resource is missing, download that specific required file from the manager. Turning off automatic downloads does not install it for you.

For in-game help, tap the question-mark icon in the main lobby and choose a help category. Activision documents this route in its troubleshooting guidance.

The version 35.0 notes, dated December 8, 2025, reported app sizes of approximately 1.6 GB for Android and 3.3 GB for iOS after an optimization update. Those are dated app-size figures, not current estimates of the complete installed game or measurements of the storage saved by switching off automatic downloads. The sources do not establish a specific amount of space an individual player will save.
