Keep Stencil Parts only for weapon-stencil applications. The current ARC Raiders Wiki entry classifies them as an Epic basic material, says each application consumes parts, and says they cannot be recycled or salvaged. They are not a hidden source of components. If you never use weapon stencils and your stash is full, Stencil Parts are a lower priority than materials needed for an active quest, project, or station upgrade—but there is no evidence-backed universal number that every player should keep.
What Stencil Parts are—and what they are not
Stencil Parts are a cosmetic-use material in ARC Raiders. The item description identifies them as material used to apply stencils to weapons, rather than as a component for ordinary equipment recipes. The ARC Raiders Wiki lists the item as an Epic Basic Material and reports a stack size of 500, weight of 0.1, and value of 1. Those figures describe the item entry last edited on 8 October 2026; they are not a promise that a future balance update will leave the values unchanged.
The same entry reports no crafting recipe and marks Stencil Parts as unavailable for both recycling and salvaging. That distinction matters when you are clearing a full stash: deleting or discarding them does not create a return of metal, circuits, chemicals, or any other component. Their practical value is the ability to pay for a stencil application.

When you should keep Stencil Parts
You are collecting or using weapon stencils
Keep enough parts for the cosmetic applications you realistically expect to make. A stencil is learned out of raid and then selected in the inventory interface for a compatible weapon, according to the Arc Raiders Hub guide updated 8 October 2026. The application is tied to one weapon: applying the same stencil to another copy requires another application and another payment of Stencil Parts.
You have an upcoming cosmetic decision but no exact quantity
There is no confirmed “keep 20” or “keep one full stack” rule. The available item entry and stencil guide do not establish a universal reserve amount. A player who applies several rare or legendary stencils may need more than a player who never changes weapon cosmetics. Keep the parts you can justify against your planned applications, then reassess after each use.
You are deciding whether to scrap them for space
Do not scrap Stencil Parts expecting materials in return: the current item entry says recycling and salvaging are unavailable. If the parts occupy a stack and you need room immediately, the decision is whether the cosmetic option is worth that stash space, not whether the item has a hidden recycle yield.
How stencil applications consume parts
The Arc Raiders Hub guide describes a simple loop: find or earn a stencil, learn it outside the raid, choose the stencil in your inventory, and apply it to a compatible weapon. Every application consumes Stencil Parts. The guide reports the following examples by stencil rarity:
| Reported stencil rarity | Stencil Parts per application | Named example or qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Common | 2 | Cost reported by the guide |
| Uncommon | 2 | Cost reported by the guide |
| Rare | 4 | Cost reported by the guide |
| Epic | 7 | Fortuna is given as a 7-part example |
| Legendary | 15 | Serac is given as a 15-part example |
Verdigris is listed at 2 parts. The guide says its rarity is inferred from that cost, while other rarity labels were read from tooltips. Treat these as reported examples rather than a guarantee that every stencil follows an identical cost or that every compatibility relationship has been exhaustively checked.

Applying a stencil without wasting parts
- Acquire or earn the stencil. The guide’s list includes stencils found Topside and content-linked stencils, but its names and locations are explicitly incomplete.
- Learn it out of raid. Do this before attempting an application; an unlearned stencil is not ready for the inventory application step.
- Confirm the weapon is compatible. The application is made to a particular compatible weapon, not to your entire collection.
- Check the displayed parts cost. Use the in-game tooltip as the final check, especially after a patch.
- Apply once you are certain about the weapon. The application consumes the listed parts for that one weapon. A second weapon requires a second application.
This workflow prevents the most expensive mistake: spending parts on a temporary copy and assuming the cosmetic will automatically transfer to another copy.
How many stencils exist?
The Arc Raiders Hub guide reports 14 stencils confirmed in launch patch notes: eight found Topside, five exclusive to the Frozen Trail Premium Pass, and one exclusive to the Collector DLC. That is the guide’s account of the patch notes, not an independently verified, permanent total. The guide says it is still being updated and draws on in-game tooltips and early-access creator material, so use the count as a snapshot and check current patch information in the game.

It does not establish that every stencil is available to every player, that every listed stencil remains obtainable, or that a player will apply each one. Your own collection goals and the cost shown by the current tooltip are more useful than multiplying 14 by an assumed average.
A decision framework for every other crafting material
Rarity and the generic “crafting material” label are poor reasons to keep or scrap an item. Evaluate each material against the use you can actually prove. The following order keeps progression items ahead of speculative value:
| Question | What to check | Action when the answer is yes |
|---|---|---|
| Is it needed for an active objective? | Current quest, project, station upgrade, or workshop requirement | Reserve the required amount before selling or recycling anything |
| Does it have a recipe you use? | Item page and the recipes for equipment you are about to build | Keep enough for the next planned craft, plus a modest buffer you can justify |
| Can it be recycled or salvaged? | The individual item’s recycle and salvage actions and their displayed returns | Compare the return with the item’s vendor value and your component shortage |
| Can it be sold? | Current vendor value and whether the item is easy to reacquire | Sell surplus when cash is more useful than the returned materials |
| How scarce is it? | Where it appears, how often you encounter it, and whether the source is content-limited | Favor scarce or gated items over common replacements |
| What does it cost in the stash? | Stack size, weight, and how much room is actually occupied | When full, remove low-use, replaceable items first |
Apply the checks to the item page, not to a category-wide assumption. Two basic materials can behave very differently: one may feed several recipes while another cannot be recycled and has only a narrow use.

Why “cannot recycle” does not mean “safe to discard”
Rubber Parts illustrate the difference. An ARC Raiders Hub database entry lists Rubber Parts as a common basic material that cannot be recycled, yet shows them in recipes for binoculars, Combat Mk. 1, Door Blocker, Looting Mk. 1, Remote Raider Flare, and Tactical Mk. 1. Their recycle status answers one question—whether a recycle return is available—but not the more important progression question: whether you need them for a recipe.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Stencil Parts are narrower. The cited item entry reports no recipe and no recycle or salvage action; their documented use is paying for stencil applications. Rubber Parts can therefore deserve a recipe reserve even though they cannot be recycled, while Stencil Parts deserve a cosmetic reserve only if you intend to apply stencils.
What to prioritize when the stash is full
A fan-made recycling guide updated 6 October 2026 recommends a broad order for a full backpack: preserve ARC materials first, then advanced materials such as Wires, Steel Springs, and Chemicals, then basic materials such as Metal Parts, Plastic Parts, and Fabric, followed by consumables and common weapons or shields. This is a starting hierarchy, not an official rule and not a substitute for checking your own active requirements.
Reserve progression-linked materials first
The same guide specifically recommends keeping several materials that can be tied to progression, including ARC Alloy, Tick Pods, ARC Circuitry, Bastion Cells, and Chemicals. Before touching any of them, open the current project, quest, or station-upgrade requirement in your game and reserve the displayed amount. A guide recommendation cannot account for every patch, account state, or newly started objective.
Then protect materials with multiple practical uses
Items appearing in several equipment or station recipes have more opportunity cost than a material used only once. Check the recipe list and your near-term loadout rather than keeping an arbitrary number of every item. If an item is common and quickly reacquired, its surplus is a better candidate for sale or recycling than a gated material.

Only then make a cosmetic-versus-space decision
After reserving active requirements and planned crafts, compare Stencil Parts with your remaining low-priority items. Because Stencil Parts cannot be converted into components, discard them only when you have decided that future stencil applications are worth less than the space they occupy. A full stack can hold up to 500 according to the item entry, so one stack may be easy to isolate from other materials; the relevant cost is the occupied stash slot and your opportunity to use the parts later.
When recycling or selling is better than keeping
The recycling guide offers a broad weapon rule: recycle common-rarity weapons when you need materials, keep uncommon and higher, and sell an item when its material return is worth less than its vendor value. Treat that as a current third-party heuristic. Inspect the actual recycle output and vendor price in your build, because a weapon’s usefulness, your component shortage, and the next objective can reverse the recommendation.
For materials, compare the same two outcomes directly. Recycling is sensible when the returned components solve an immediate craft or upgrade and exceed the value of selling the item. Selling is sensible when you need currency, the item has little near-term recipe value, and the returned components are plentiful or irrelevant. Keeping is sensible when an active requirement, a known recipe, or a planned stencil application gives the item a concrete job.
- Keep: the quantity reserved for an active requirement, a planned craft, or a stencil application you genuinely expect to make.
- Recycle: surplus items with a useful displayed return when components are the bottleneck.
- Sell: surplus whose vendor value exceeds the practical value of its recycle return.
- Discard: only when the item has no relevant recipe or objective, no useful recycle or salvage path, little sale value, and enough availability that replacing it is acceptable.
A practical stash-cleanup procedure
- Sort by item and read the individual entry. Record the recipe list, current use, stack size, weight, value, and whether recycle or salvage is available.
- Open active progression screens. Check quests, projects, station upgrades, and workshop requirements. Reserve those quantities before making a sale or recycle decision.
- Mark near-term crafts. Include equipment you will actually build soon, not every recipe you might someday try.
- Separate cosmetic materials. For Stencil Parts, decide which stencil applications you expect and use the displayed per-application cost. Do not count a second weapon as free.
- Evaluate the surplus. Compare recycle output, vendor value, reacquisition difficulty, and stash cost for each remaining item.
- Clear the lowest-opportunity-cost items first. Common weapons, replaceable basic materials, and items with no active use are generally safer candidates than progression-linked or content-gated materials.
- Recheck after patches. The item was introduced in Frozen Trail patch 2.0, and the community references are patch-sensitive. A changed recipe, cost, or recycle flag can change the decision.
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Assuming Epic means it should never leave the stash
Epic is a rarity label, not a recycle policy or a universal keep instruction. The Stencil Parts entry’s explicit use and no-recycle status matter more than the color of the rarity label.

Keeping a fixed amount without a use case
The available references do not establish a universal reserve for Stencil Parts or a complete keep-count table for every material. Use your next application, quest, project, or craft as the reason for a reserve; remove the reason and the reserve can be reconsidered.
Counting a stencil application as account-wide
The guide reports that each application is for one weapon. A duplicate weapon needs another application and another parts cost, so plan for the number of copies you actually intend to customize.
Treating loot categories as guaranteed farming locations
Commercial, Residential, and Industrial are the reported scavenging categories for Stencil Parts. They are not a published drop-rate table or a guarantee that a particular container, map, or run will produce them.
Trusting an old list after a content update
The item page was last edited 8 October 2026, while the stencil guide says it is still being updated. Verify the current tooltip and active requirement in-game after balance or content patches instead of carrying forward an old cost or recipe.
Bottom-line decision tree
- Do you plan to apply a stencil? Keep the parts needed for that application, using the current in-game cost; add more only for additional weapons you truly plan to customize.
- Do you not use stencils? Stencil Parts have no reported recycle or salvage return, so they are a reasonable space-clearing candidate after active progression materials and recipes are protected.
- Does another material have an active quest, project, station, or workshop requirement? Reserve it before considering sale or recycling, regardless of rarity.
- Does another material have a recipe but no recycle action? Keep it if the recipe is relevant; Rubber Parts demonstrate why recipe need and recycle availability are separate tests.
- Are you choosing between recycling and selling surplus? Compare the displayed material return with vendor value and your immediate component need; use the current item behavior, not a blanket rarity rule.
These decisions reflect the item properties and community guides available on 13 October 2026. ARC Raiders can change item costs, recipes, loot, and progression, so the in-game item page and active requirement are the final authority after an update.
