Steam has two major limited-time offers ending around October 19, 2026: Battlefield 6 is available through a temporary Free Weekend, while Stranded Deep has a separate free-play promotion. The offers do not work the same way, so check each game’s access type and deadline before claiming it.

Battlefield 6: a temporary Free Weekend
SteamDB’s promotion package identifies Battlefield 6 as a Free Weekend running from October 15, 2026 at 17:00 UTC through October 19, 2026 at 17:00 UTC. The package includes Battlefield 6 multiplayer, single-player and related texture or component entries.
A Free Weekend grants a temporary license. Adding the game during the event does not normally make it a permanent part of your library; when the event expires, you must buy the game to continue playing. The available record does not establish specific maps, player counts, campaign length or performance, so those details should not be assumed from this promotion.

How to start the Battlefield 6 trial
- Open the Steam client or Steam’s store in a browser and search for Battlefield 6.
- On the game page, look for the active Free Weekend offer and its displayed end time.
- Select the free-play or install option shown by Steam and let the client add the temporary license to your account.
- Start the game before the cutoff. If you want uninterrupted access afterward, purchase it before the temporary license expires.
Stranded Deep: survival play with a deadline discrepancy
Stranded Deep places you as a plane-crash survivor stranded somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. Its Steam description centers on scavenging, exploration and survival while you manage hunger, thirst, exposure and injuries. You craft tools, weapons, shelters and rafts, and the listed activities include building, farming, hunting and fishing.
The game supports single-player, online co-op and split-screen co-op. That makes it the clearer choice for players specifically looking for a cooperative survival session during the promotion. A PC gaming headset can also help with voice chat during online multiplayer, but no particular accessory or price is required to claim the game.

Steam’s current store text says “Play for free until Oct 19 @ 10:00am.” SteamDB separately labels a Free to Keep period and records an end of October 18 at 00:00 UTC. Those displays do not establish the same entitlement or timezone. Do not assume the game will remain permanently in your library until Steam’s live listing explicitly confirms that your claim is Free to Keep.
How to check and claim Stranded Deep
- Search for Stranded Deep on Steam and open the official store listing.
- Read the offer label and countdown shown on that page; treat it as the final reader-facing deadline for your account and region.
- Choose the displayed free-play, add-to-library or install control.
- After claiming, check your Steam library and the game’s license information. If the listing describes only temporary play, access may end when the promotion closes.
Free Weekend versus Free to Keep
Steamworks distinguishes these offers clearly. A Free Weekend grants a temporary license. A Free to Keep promotion is like a time-limited 100% discount: a successful claim remains in the customer’s library. “Free to play” by itself does not identify which arrangement applies.
