Starved Harridan is reported to appear in Vestige of Infinity, with guides recommending a western approach from The Silent Steps to trigger the fight. Defeating the boss reportedly awards both Voltaic Essence and Voltaic Amber: Essence is a passive progression item, while Amber is a lightning Tarstone for a compatible Sidearm. These encounter and item details come from third-party guides, not official documentation, so treat them as current-build guidance rather than confirmed requirements.
Where to find Starved Harridan
Third-party guides place Starved Harridan in Vestige of Infinity. Their reported reliable approach is from the west, entering from The Silent Steps. One guide warns that approaching from the top or north can leave the arena empty. The sources do not establish why the trigger differs by route.
If the boss is not present, leave the area and reapproach from the western route via The Silent Steps. If it still does not appear, recheck the route in your current game build; no official walkthrough or patch note reviewed here confirms the trigger conditions.

No comprehensive prerequisite list is established. The available guides do not confirm a required character level, Shell, weapon, quest flag, or patch version. The only specific advice they provide is to approach from the west via The Silent Steps to trigger the encounter; that remains guide-reported rather than officially documented.

What do Voltaic Essence and Voltaic Amber do?
Guides report that defeating Starved Harridan awards both items. Despite their similar names, they have different reported roles:
| Item | Reported role | Reported activation | Reported effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Voltaic Essence | Passive progression item | Kept in inventory; guides say it does not need to be equipped | Opens the sealed southern route from the arena toward the Gate of Infinity and activates lightning spires |
| Voltaic Amber | Tarstone | Applied as an infusion to a compatible Sidearm | Adds a lightning infusion; it does not serve the reported route-unlock function |
These uses are reported by third-party guides and have not been independently confirmed by an official item entry in the sources reviewed. The guides also say that approaching an activated lightning spire can animate nearby petrified enemies, so be ready for a fight as you explore the newly accessible route.

How to handle the encounter
Third-party guides recommend using the arena pillars for cover against ranged attacks, creating distance when Starved Harridan prepares a scream or close-range burst, and taking short attack openings instead of extending combos. These are guide-reported tactics, not a tested or officially confirmed strategy.
