Steam Cloud synchronizes supported save data through your Steam account, while the town feature determines when you can create a manual save in the game. They solve different problems: Cloud helps carry a supported save between Steam installations, and manual saving lets you choose a save point in town.
For safer transfers, launch and close the game while Steam is online, wait for any synchronization indicator to finish, and pay attention to conflict prompts before selecting a local or cloud copy. Do not assume that a cloud copy can restore progress that was never written to a save file. If you play offline, make changes on more than one computer, or receive a sync-conflict dialog, stop and identify which timestamp contains the progress you want before confirming.
Is STARDUST playable on Steam Deck?
Yes. Steam marks STARDUST: Wish of Witch as Playable for Steam Deck, and the store listing reports full controller support. That is the official compatibility signal available for the title.
