Star Wars Zero Company has eight standard combat specializations, but the available official information does not establish how each one performs or which is best. The confirmed roster is Assault, Heavy, Sharpshooter, Scoundrel, Soldier, Gunslinger, Scout, and Medic. The developer has described the Medic as a support role for healing and buffing teammates; detailed ability-by-ability comparisons require evidence from the game itself.
Which specializations are in Star Wars Zero Company?
An Xbox Wire developer interview published June 9, 2026, names eight general specializations. It confirms the roster, but the published details do not provide a complete account of each class’s abilities, weapon fit, action-point costs, or limitations.
| Specialization | What the official information establishes |
|---|---|
| Assault | Confirmed as one of the eight general specializations. |
| Heavy | Confirmed as one of the eight general specializations. |
| Sharpshooter | Confirmed as one of the eight general specializations. |
| Scoundrel | Confirmed as one of the eight general specializations. |
| Soldier | Confirmed as one of the eight general specializations. |
| Gunslinger | Confirmed as one of the eight general specializations. |
| Scout | Confirmed as one of the eight general specializations. |
| Medic | Described by the developers as a support specialization intended to heal and buff teammates. |
That evidence supports a roster guide, not a tested ranking. In particular, a specialization’s name alone is not enough to establish its precise combat role or how it differs from another class. See the Xbox Wire developer interview for the official roster and role framing.
How do specializations fit into a squad?
The developers describe a team of four operators and four primary weapon specializations: pistol, rifle, long arm, and repeater. That gives players two useful lenses for evaluating a class: what it contributes to the team and how its chosen weapon works in the actual encounter. The interview does not map every class to a specific weapon, so it would be misleading to claim that a particular specialization requires one.

A class’s value may depend on the other three operators and the situation; the official information does not establish a universally optimal four-person lineup.
Can you identify the best specialization?
There is no supported objective winner in the official information cited here: it supplies no specialization win rates, controlled performance comparisons, or numeric effectiveness rankings. Secondary guides offer advice, but that is editorial guidance rather than measured evidence. Treat recommendations as suggestions to test against your own preferred tactics, not as proof that one class is best for every player or mission.
