Trick’s first companion assignment is Contact Sawtooth, a non-combat Operation you select from the Den’s Holotable. It is separate from No Clone Left Behind, the later tactical Hero Mission where the objective is to rescue Sergeant Sawtooth on Ryloth. To follow the thread, complete the Operation, then use the game’s mission listings and objective markers to guide the combat rescue.
Contact Sawtooth and No Clone Left Behind are different missions
The names refer to two stages of the Sawtooth thread, not two versions of the same mission. In Contact Sawtooth, Trick asks the crew to investigate a distress call from Sergeant Sawtooth, an old friend and former member of the 100th Clone Company. It is a non-combat assignment selected at the Den’s Holotable.
No Clone Left Behind is a separate, turn-based Hero Mission. Its listed objective is “Rescue Sawtooth,” and its mission description says he must be rescued from the Separatists. The listing places it on Ryloth, in Zone Isk.
| Mission | Activity | Listed requirements or details | Objective or result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Contact Sawtooth | Non-combat Companion Operation | 50 Intel; 3 cycles; the Comms approach requires 2 operators | Investigate Sawtooth’s distress call; the Comms listing says it can yield one of 12 possible rewards |
| No Clone Left Behind | Combat Hero Mission | Ryloth, Zone Isk; listed duration of 3 cycles | Rescue Sawtooth; listed rewards are Focus points and Intel |
These precise costs, durations, location, and reward details come from the unofficial Zero Command community wiki’s Companion Operations and Hero Missions listings, which say their data was checked against launch-build or HoloTable information in August–September 2026. Treat them as a useful reference, not a substitute for the current in-game listing; updates may change values.

How to start Contact Sawtooth
- Go to the Den’s Holotable. Operations are non-combat assignments that spend Intel; tactical missions send operators into turn-based combat. Check the available listings there.
- Select Contact Sawtooth if it is available. The community listing gives its cost as 50 Intel and duration as 3 cycles.
- Choose the Comms approach with two operators. The listing specifies a two-operator requirement for that approach and reports one of 12 possible rewards. Confirm the requirements and cost on your Holotable before committing.
- Allow for the cycle commitment. The listing records a three-cycle duration. Check the live display in case a game update has changed it.
Prepare before deploying for No Clone Left Behind
Before launching a tactical mission, review which operators are healthy and available. The official StarWars.com guide describes mission difficulty as Risky, Dangerous, or Extreme and notes that deploying advances the campaign to the next cycle. Complete any Den activities you want to do first.
Use the objective markers to rescue Sawtooth
The available sources do not establish a verified turn-by-turn route, enemy positions, or branching outcomes for this mission. Follow the objective panel and map markers in your own mission rather than relying on an unverified route. StarWars.com guide author Kelly Knox explains: “Your objectives for the mission are listed in the top left and marked on the map. Complete these to successfully finish the operation!”

The official guide says: “You don’t have to take out all the enemies on the battlefield to succeed in your mission – unless explicitly stated in your mission objectives!” Prioritize the displayed rescue objective and any other requirements the game shows.

- Manage action points. Each operator has three action points to spend on movement, attacks, or abilities.
- Use the available tactical tools. The official guide covers taking cover, attacks, backup assists, overwatch, and rallying injured operators. Advantage can power special actions.
- Plan around when actions resolve. The guide says damage is applied when an action is taken, even though blaster fire may look like an exchange.
- Restart to try another strategy. If the attempt goes badly, the official guide says you can restart the mission through the game menu and try a new approach with the same operators.
For the general mechanics and preparation advice, see StarWars.com’s Zero Company guide. The mission names and listing details are in the community wiki’s Companion Operations and Hero Missions references. The official Star Wars Zero Company game page provides an overview of the game.
