Focus Points are used to unlock operator abilities in the Focus Tree. The community database links earning them to bond growth, while a video guide also reports tactical missions and Den upgrades as sources. Reassignment is covered by that guide, but its exact steps and refund rules are not confirmed by the official materials available here.
What Focus Points do
Focus Points are progression points for operator abilities, not combat action points. In its combat overview, StarWars.com says: “Each operator has health points, along with three action points (AP) to move, attack, and use abilities during their turn.” AP are used during a turn; Focus Points are allocated through character progression.
How to spend Focus Points
The community database’s Focus Tree walkthrough describes selecting a recruit in the Focus Tree tab and allocating a point to an ability. Its text and numbers are identified as read from build 25513890, so menus or mechanics may differ in later builds.

Make the choice around the operator’s specialization, the role you expect them to fill, and the tactical use you want from the ability. The available material does not establish a universal best build or a reliable tier list; treat ability selection as a squad-fit decision rather than a fixed ranking.

How to earn Focus Points
Bond growth
The community database associates Focus Point gains with operators’ bond growth. It also says bonds can unlock Cross Training opportunities for permanent improvements. The source does not establish exact point rewards, bond thresholds, or a schedule, so do not assume a particular increase for each bond level.
Tactical missions and Den upgrades
A Shadowcoast Gaming video guide published August 28, 2026 also identifies tactical missions and Den upgrades as earning routes. These triggers are reported by a secondary guide and are not corroborated by the official materials cited here; the guide does not provide a verified universal reward amount.

Can you reassign Focus Points?
The same video guide covers reassignment, but the available official information does not establish the exact interface steps, cost, timing, refund quantity, or exceptions. It is also important to distinguish changing an operator’s specialization from changing individual ability selections: the guide’s coverage of reassignment does not prove that both changes work the same way or share the same refund rules.
If you are considering a change, check the current in-game Focus Tree and specialization menus before committing. Do not assume that points are refunded, that every choice can be reversed, or that a change is free unless the game explicitly confirms it in your current build.

Where the platform information fits
EA lists Star Wars Zero Company for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. Its availability announcement names the EA app, Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series consoles. These platform listings do not clarify Focus Point mechanics, which may be subject to game updates.
