Can you switch vehicles mid-run? No: in the campaign, your vehicle class is locked for the duration of a Tour. Choose a landspeeder, speeder bike, or skim speeder in the Loadout before a Tour begins; you get another choice at the transitions from Act I to Act II and Act II to Act III. A planet stop lets you tune or upgrade your current build, not switch to another class.
When you can change vehicles in the campaign
Campaign vehicle selection happens at specific Loadout windows, rather than at every race or planet stop. Fuse Games describes a run as starting with a choice among a skim speeder, speeder bike, or landspeeder (Xbox Wire interview).

- At the start of a Tour: Choose one of the three standard vehicle classes in the Loadout.
- Between Act I and Act II: Select a vehicle for the next Act.
- Between Act II and Act III: Select again for the next Act.
- Once a Tour is underway: The selected class stays locked, including when you reach another planet.
The Act-boundary timing and mid-Tour lock are described in launch-day guides, so treat them as campaign guidance that could change with a game update (GamesRadar guide; TheGamer guide).
What happens at a planet stop
A planet stop is an opportunity to tune or upgrade the vehicle you already selected. It does not open a new vehicle-class choice for the current Tour. Customizing another vehicle also does not put it into the race already in progress (TheGamer guide; IGN beginner’s guide).

Can you pick again after a failed run?
If you lose all your remaining League Tokens, the run ends and the current Act restarts. The restarted Act provides a new Loadout choice, but this costs the progress from that run; it is not a way to swap vehicles while continuing the same Tour (GamesRadar guide; TheGamer guide).
Which vehicle should you choose?
The official vehicle guide describes distinct handling and durability characteristics, not controlled lap-time rankings. Pick for the driving style you want rather than assuming one class is universally fastest (StarWars.com vehicle guide).

Are podracers part of the normal Loadout?
No. The regular campaign Loadout offers landspeeders, speeder bikes, and skim speeders. Podracers are reserved for select missions or events rather than appearing as a fourth standard campaign choice (Xbox Wire interview; StarWars.com vehicle guide).

The available campaign guidance establishes selection at the start of a Tour and at Act transitions. It does not establish whether multiplayer Tours use the same selection windows, so check the mode’s own Loadout and rules instead of assuming the campaign timing applies.
