Choose and learn your craft
The game features distinct vehicle classes, and the available descriptions emphasize different handling tradeoffs. These are starting heuristics, not a ranking of universally best craft.
1. Pick handling over looks
The landspeeder is described as weighty and suited to drifting, the speeder bike as faster on straights but harder to manage in corners, and the skim speeder as rewarding hard banking while demanding more control. The Xbox Wire previewer chose the landspeeder for its weight and endurance, while giving up top speed. That makes it a reasonable craft to learn with if you value a steadier feel, not a guaranteed best choice for every course or player.

3. Use the speeder bike on straights
The bike’s stated strength is straight-line speed; its corner control is the tradeoff. Make the most of open stretches, and avoid treating it as a cornering specialist.
4. Fly the skim speeder with precision
Official materials describe the skim speeder as capable of flowing lines, maintaining momentum, banking through corners, and knife-edging through narrow gaps. Practice clean lines and deliberate steering to make use of those strengths. The official gameplay announcement introduces the craft.
5. Learn cornering before chasing speed
Different craft favor different lines and handling, so use early events to understand how your chosen vehicle turns and carries momentum. Once you can repeat a clean line, you have a better basis for judging when to push harder.

6. Spend Afterburner as a short, repeatable boost
In the Xbox Wire preview, Afterburner provides a brief burst and recharges during a race. It is separate from Ramjet’s overheating risk. The source does not establish a universally optimal activation point, so use it when a short burst fits the situation rather than relying on a fixed timing rule.
7. Don’t hold Ramjet blindly to its limit
The previewer reported catastrophic consequences when Ramjet was pushed too far and overheated. Pay attention to its heat cost instead of assuming it can be held indefinitely.
8. Give Ramjet a tactical purpose
Xbox Wire says Ramjet can deliver a major boost and help knock opponents off track. A sensible starting heuristic is to use it when a burst or contact could change your position; that timing is an inference from the described effects, not a verified optimal tactic.

9. Treat contact as part of racing
The preview says bumping opponents off the track is encouraged and can improve your chance of winning. The official description likewise foregrounds slams, shunts, and takedowns. Contact is therefore part of the game’s racing vocabulary, not merely an accident to avoid. The official gameplay announcement describes the action.
Make campaign choices with risk in mind
The campaign combines a run-based structure with event and route choices. A post-launch TechRadar review, published October 2, 2026, describes qualifiers leading into the branching Galactic Tour, with standard races, Field Tests, Mystery Encounters, and Eliminator events.
10. Weigh League Token exposure before choosing an event
League Tokens let players enter races, and the review says losing an Eliminator can cost one. Before selecting an event, compare its potential payoff with the cost of failure.

11. Treat Eliminators as high risk
In an Eliminator, the racer in last place is disqualified until only three pilots remain. Because a loss can also cost a League Token, enter when you understand the format and are prepared for that downside.
12. Choose routes that suit your current strengths
The Galactic Tour offers route choices rather than a randomized track draw, according to the review. Favor events that fit the craft and skills you are currently using; this is a practical inference from the route structure, not a claim that any path is always easier.
13. Treat repeat runs as part of progression
The review describes a loop where a failed run means replaying the process, while knowledge gained can help on later attempts. After a loss, adjust one choice at a time—such as craft, route, or event—so you can learn what made a difference.

Build a setup that fits how you race
14. Upgrade toward a coherent playstyle
Official materials say upgrades shape a build suited to the player’s style, and that races award parts, tools, and upgrades. Reinforce the way you want to race rather than assuming one upgrade path is best for everyone. The official release-date interview discusses choices around vehicles, upgrades, and events.
15. Learn the event and craft mix before optimizing
The campaign features multiple vehicle classes and event types. Use early runs to understand that variety before committing to a narrow setup; public materials establish meaningful choices but do not establish an ideal unlock order or a secret shortcut.
