Star Wars Galactic Racer does not currently advertise native local split-screen. The official store listings describe single-player and online multiplayer. On PC, a fan-made mod called SWGRCouch adds a split-screen menu and targets up to four local players, but it is marked work in progress and has only been tested by its author with two and three players. It requires a legitimately purchased Steam copy; no PS5 or Xbox version of the mod is documented.
Does Star Wars Galactic Racer have split-screen?
Not as a built-in feature advertised by the official listings reviewed on October 9, 2026. Steam lists Single-player, Online PvP, and Cross-Platform Multiplayer. PlayStation describes one-player play and online multiplayer for up to 12 players, while Xbox lists single-player and online multiplayer for 2–12 players. Those are online and solo specifications, not local split-screen support. Store features can change with updates, so check the listing for your edition if you are reading this later.
The game launched worldwide on October 6, 2026, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The official listings identify online multiplayer, but do not advertise a native way for multiple people to play locally on one screen.
How can you play local co-op?
The documented local-play option is SWGRCouch, a third-party PC mod for the Steam version. Its author describes it as a fan-made UE4SS Lua mod; it is not an official game feature and is not affiliated with Lucasfilm, Disney, or the developers. The mod listing says the game is not included and requires a legitimately purchased Steam copy.

How to set up SWGRCouch
The mod listing describes the general joining flow, but installation details can change. Use the current Nexus Mods instructions for the exact files and configuration; do not rely on old paths or version numbers.
- Get the Steam PC game legitimately. The mod listing requires a purchased Steam copy and does not include the game.
- Install and configure SWGRCouch. Follow the current instructions on the SWGRCouch Nexus Mods page for its UE4SS setup.
- Connect a separate gamepad for each joining player. The listing’s described flow has each guest join using their own pad.
- Open the mod’s Split Screen tab. Add players there, then have each guest press A on their own pad to join.
That is the documented high-level flow, not a guarantee that every installation will behave identically. Follow the mod page’s current compatibility notes and instructions for your game version.

Player limits and known issues
SWGRCouch targets up to four local players, but version 0.9.0 is labeled work in progress and the author reports testing with two and three. Treat four-player support as a target, not a verified stability promise.

- The listing also describes an input interaction in the lobby while guests are joining.
These are reported caveats rather than a complete compatibility or troubleshooting guide. Check the mod page for current status and any updates before setting up a session.

Can you use the split-screen mod on PS5 or Xbox?
No console method is established by the available documentation. SWGRCouch is described as a PC mod requiring the Steam edition, and the PlayStation and Xbox listings reviewed do not show a corresponding local-mod option. Do not treat the Steam instructions as applicable to a console copy.
