Star Wars: Galactic Racer’s solo campaign is a run-based tour through the Galactic League, not a fixed list of races. You choose events and routes, configure one of four repulsorcraft classes, spend run rewards on a temporary build, and try to survive enough races to challenge champion Kestar Bool. Too many crashes end the tour. Your temporary setup is lost when that happens, but certain perks, unlocks and permanent upgrades can carry into later attempts.

This guide explains the progression loop, how to choose events and vehicles, what Hibi’s workshop does, and which unlock details are confirmed or still unspecified. It covers the campaign only; Scenario and Arcade are separate modes, not additional campaign chapters.

What the single-player campaign is

You play as Shade, a racer entering the Galactic League with a personal grudge against the Bool family and its champion, Kestar Bool. The campaign is organised as repeated tours. Each tour presents a route through League events, and your decisions determine which races and rewards you see before the attempt ends.

The structure is deliberately closer to a runs-based game than to a linear racing career. Matt Webster, Fuse Games CEO, describes the design as follows: “We’ve drawn real inspiration from runs-based games so the player will have meaningful, consequential decisions to be making on how they chose their path to become an elite racing pilot — from the vehicle they choose to start with, the upgrade choices they make to create a build that really suits their playstyle and what events they select in determining their path to become champion of the League,” Webster says.

  • COMPETE IN HIGH-STAKES RACES - Slam, shunt, and takedown rivals across varied circuits as you pilot land speeders, speeder bikes, skim speeders, and pod racers. The greater the risk, the greater the reward.
  • SURVIVE A DANGEROUS UNDERGROUND SPORT - Join The Galactic League - an unsanctioned racing circuit born in the lawless Outer Rim. Become Shade, a lone racer chasing revenge and glory.
  • BUILD AND CUSTOMIZE YOUR CRAFT - Pilot different classes of repulsorcraft each with distinct physics and playstyles. Build a ride that showcases your style and gives you a competitive edge.
  • BATTLE RIVALS IN MULTIPLE GAME MODES - Ride solo through a story-driven campaign of shifting alliances or brave strategic PvP grudge matches where reputation rides with you.
  • CLIMB THE RANKS AND EARN REWARDS - Prove yourself through intense rivalries and escalating challenges. Every choice shapes your prospects as you build your status in The Galactic League.

A tour ends after too many crashes. The game then asks you to regroup and begin again. That reset is the central progression decision: you lose the build assembled during the failed tour, but some progress made across attempts remains available.

The campaign loop, from a fresh tour to the next attempt

  1. Choose a starting repulsorcraft. Your initial class affects handling demands and the kind of build that feels comfortable.
  2. Select an event and route. League paths branch, so you decide which available event to tackle rather than following one mandatory sequence.
  3. Race for rewards. Events can provide tuning points and, according to developer reporting, may also award vehicle parts.
  4. Visit Hibi’s workshop. Fit parts earned during the run, or buy parts and other upgrades with credits when the shop becomes available.
  5. Repeat the choice cycle. Each race changes your risk, resources and potential route. A fast but difficult event may offer a better reward while increasing the chance of a crash.
  6. Reach the League champion or fail the tour. Surviving the required sequence gives you a shot at the champion. Too many crashes end that attempt and return you to the longer-term progression layer.

Because the sources do not publish a complete event map, there is no verified universal route or number of races that guarantees a championship attempt. Treat every tour as a build-and-route experiment rather than memorising a single correct order.

How temporary and persistent progression differ

Understanding the reset rules prevents the most common campaign mistake: spending every resource as if nothing will survive a failure, or assuming every upgrade is permanent.

What belongs to the current tour

Your run build consists of the tuning choices, parts and abilities assembled during that attempt. Tom’s Guide’s October 2026 campaign report says run upgrades reset when a new season begins. In practical terms, a failed tour does not let you carry the complete vehicle configuration into the next one.

Credits, tuning choices and event rewards should therefore be judged by their immediate value. A part that makes the next difficult race safer can be more useful than saving for a theoretical late-run setup you may never reach.

What can survive a failure

Official launch material says that certain perks and unlocks from earlier attempts carry into the next run. The same report from Tom’s Guide says completed acts remain complete and that a player may still earn permanent upgrades after failure. PC Gamer’s October 12, 2026 report adds that new unlocks enter a pool for future runs and that tuning points can be used for permanent upgrades.

These descriptions establish the existence of meta-progression, but they do not identify every permanent item or guarantee when a particular unlock appears. Do not assume that a named part, ability or perk is permanently available unless the current game version marks it as such.

A practical way to think about the reset

  • During a tour: build for the next event, protect your remaining crash margin and spend temporary rewards when they improve survival.
  • After a tour: inspect the new unlocks or permanent upgrades that were added, then adapt your next starting choice around them.
  • When uncertain: distinguish an item installed on the vehicle from an unlock added to the broader pool. Installation is a run decision; pool availability is persistent progression.

Choosing a vehicle class

Galactic Racer includes landspeeders, speeder bikes, skim speeders and podracers. Official descriptions establish different handling and tactical advantages, but the reviewed material does not provide measured lap times or a class-by-class performance ranking. Choose according to the event’s demands and the driving style you can execute consistently.

Class Confirmed handling guidance Best decision lens
Landspeeder Distinct class with its own handling profile; no measured ranking is published. Use the in-game feel and event requirements to decide whether its balance suits your route.
Speeder bike Designed around hard braking into corners followed by strong acceleration on exit. Choose it when you are comfortable braking late, rotating the vehicle and getting back on power quickly.
Skim speeder Rewards smooth lines and maintaining momentum. Prefer it for races where clean corner arcs and speed conservation matter more than abrupt direction changes.
Podracer Available as a campaign class; the reviewed sources do not state a specific handling advantage. Test its response on the current event route and build around the strengths shown by your installed parts.

These are tendencies, not a claim that one class is best. Fuse Games creative director Kieran Crimmins explained the design philosophy succinctly: “You can’t know if you can feel the system until you can play the system.” Spend your first attempts learning how a class behaves before committing persistent upgrades to it.

How to choose events and branching paths

Routes are described as branching and risk-reward driven. The correct choice depends on your current vehicle, crash margin, resources and objective. A route that is efficient for a stable momentum build may be poor for a bike setup that depends on precise braking.

Evaluate the event before committing

  • Handling fit: Does the event appear to favour smooth momentum, heavy braking, acceleration or another skill your class supports?
  • Failure cost: How much crash risk can you accept before the tour becomes unrecoverable?
  • Reward value: Is the likely tuning, part or credit reward useful for the next branch?
  • Build direction: Will the event reward reinforce your current approach, or are you deliberately changing it?

The official material does not publish a complete risk rating, reward table or optimal route. Avoid treating a particular planet or event as universally safe or mandatory unless the game itself identifies it that way.

When a safer route is better

If your vehicle already has a working setup and the next race can be completed reliably, preserving the tour may be worth more than chasing a speculative reward. Remember that a failed tour discards the temporary build. Consistent finishes can produce more long-term progress than repeatedly selecting the most dangerous branch.

When to accept risk

A riskier event can make sense when your current build is weak, you need a particular type of reward, or you are testing a new class early in a run. Make that choice intentionally: the upside is faster access to useful upgrades, while the downside is losing the entire temporary configuration if crashes accumulate.

Hibi’s workshop and vehicle upgrades

Hibi, an Ardennian mechanic, operates a workshop from each planet’s paddock. Talk to her between races to fit parts earned during runs or to purchase available parts. Official descriptions say parts provide stat boosts and abilities that support different racing styles.

PC Gamer’s October 12, 2026 report on the developers’ prototype gives additional context: event rewards typically include tuning points that can be spent among random stats, and some events can provide vehicle parts. After several races, the player can shop with credits for upgrades, parts or an ability. This is a reported system summary, not a complete item catalogue or price list.

Mortal Shell 2’s combat system is agile and expressive. Stamina gauges are removed, and execution options have been enhanced, delivering a kinetic and chaotic dark power fantasy. Precision meets intensity in high-stakes combat.

Spend rewards in this order

  1. Fix the next known weakness. If a route exposes braking, cornering or acceleration problems, prioritise the stat or ability that addresses that problem.
  2. Protect consistency. A modest improvement that prevents crashes is usually more valuable than a high-ceiling effect you cannot use reliably.
  3. Match parts to the class. Momentum-focused parts make more sense on a skim speeder than on a setup built around abrupt braking, while a bike benefits from upgrades that preserve its brake-and-exit rhythm.
  4. Keep a reserve only when the shop justifies it. Credits have value only if a later purchase materially improves the next event; there is no published universal savings target.

Exact prices, currencies beyond the reported credits and tuning points, item names and stat values are not documented in the available official material. Any guide claiming a complete price or unlock list would need to verify the current game version directly.

What happens when you crash out

Crashes are not ordinary race restarts. The official launch announcement says that too many crashes end a tour, after which Shade regroups and starts again. This makes crash avoidance a campaign resource, not merely a driving-quality concern.

Before a high-risk race

  • Check whether your current class suits the event’s cornering and momentum demands.
  • Use the workshop to remove a weakness that has already caused mistakes.
  • Do not enter a difficult branch solely because its reward sounds attractive; compare that reward with the value of preserving your current run.

After a failed tour

  1. Record which event or handling situation caused the crashes.
  2. Check the post-run progression screens for permanent upgrades, perks or new items added to the future pool.
  3. Start the next attempt with a class or opening upgrade that addresses the recorded failure.
  4. Choose an early route that lets you rebuild confidence and resources before testing the same challenge again.

Failure is therefore informative as well as punitive. It reveals which part of your build or route decision was not sustainable, while persistent rewards can improve future attempts.

How unlocks are obtained

The confirmed unlock channels are run rewards, workshop purchases, persistent perks and permanent upgrades. The campaign also advertises new abilities and rewards as you climb the League, but the reviewed sources do not provide a complete checklist of names, prerequisites or act-by-act unlock points.

Unlock source What is established What is not established
Event rewards Tuning points are typically reported as rewards; vehicle parts can also appear. The exact reward table, drop rates and event-specific items.
Hibi’s workshop Parts earned in runs can be fitted, and parts, upgrades or an ability can be bought with credits. Complete inventory, prices and rotation rules.
Persistent progression Certain perks and unlocks carry forward; permanent upgrades may be earned even after failure. Which named unlock is guaranteed, and the precise timing of each unlock.
Acts and League progress Tom’s Guide reports that completed acts remain complete after a new season. A full act map showing every event, vehicle, ability or planet reward.

To build your own reliable checklist, note the platform and game version, then record the exact wording shown when an unlock appears. Separate entries into “available this tour” and “available in future runs.” That avoids mistaking a temporary part installation for a permanent unlock.

Confirmed campaign locations and story context

Official launch coverage names Jakku, Sentinel I, Lantaana, Derven Acos, Ando Prime, Tatooine and Crait as race locations. Campaign podracing is part of the story, with Sebulba helping prepare Shade. These locations are confirmed settings, not a published sequence of campaign chapters.

The available materials do not show which event occurs on each planet, which class is required, or what ability unlocks at each point. Use the route presented by your current run rather than relying on an unofficial planet order.

Campaign versus Scenario and Arcade

Galactic Racer includes Scenario and Arcade modes alongside the solo campaign. They should not be counted as campaign acts or treated as alternate chapters in the League tour. Campaign progression is the system with branching events, run failure, Hibi’s workshop and carryover perks described in this guide.

Platforms and editions relevant to access

The game launched on October 6, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The official announcements describe physical Standard and Deluxe editions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, while PC is listed as a digital platform.

Edition or format Confirmed details
Standard Physical format announced for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S; current price and stock are not stated here.
Deluxe Physical console edition and digital Deluxe content were announced. The digital art book is described as 80 pages; cosmetic and vehicle extras are edition content, not campaign unlock requirements.
Collector’s Includes a metal landspeeder model, printed art book, patches, banner, steel case and digital Deluxe content.
PC Listed as a digital platform; the reviewed material does not establish a physical PC edition.

Edition bonuses do not replace the run-based progression system. Regardless of edition, campaign parts, route decisions and persistent unlocks are governed by the game’s own progression rules.

A first-run plan for beginners

  1. Start with the class you can control. If you prefer smooth steering and preserving speed, try the skim speeder’s momentum-oriented style. If you are comfortable braking hard and accelerating out of corners, the speeder bike’s handling description may fit better.
  2. Take an early event as a learning test. Focus on identifying the vehicle’s braking distance, corner response and recovery from a mistake.
  3. Spend the first useful reward immediately when it solves a clear problem. Do not wait for a perfect build that the sources do not establish.
  4. Visit Hibi between races. Fit earned parts and review credit purchases before selecting the next branch.
  5. Choose routes by survival probability. A slightly smaller reward is often preferable if it keeps the tour alive and lets you accumulate more opportunities.
  6. After failure, change one variable. Switch the opening class, route or first upgrade based on the observed cause instead of changing everything at once.

What a complete unlock guide cannot yet claim

No authoritative source reviewed for this guide states the campaign’s exact length, total number of unlocks, completion time, full event sequence, complete currency-and-price list or an optimal build for every event. Those details may vary with updates and platform versions. Treat any online checklist that supplies exact names or prices without a current in-game version reference as unverified.

The reliable facts are the structure: choose a route, build through events and Hibi’s workshop, manage crash risk, and use persistent rewards to improve later tours. That framework lets you progress without mistaking promotional descriptions for a guaranteed walkthrough.
