The new 2026 Star Wars game is Star Wars: Galactic Racer, but “free to download” overstates the offer. A report published October 6, 2026 says Amazon Prime members in eligible regions can stream the game’s single-player campaign on Amazon Luna at no additional cost. That is cloud-streamed access, not a free downloadable copy for PlayStation, Xbox, or PC.
What is Star Wars: Galactic Racer?
Star Wars: Galactic Racer is a racing adventure announced at The Game Awards 2025. Lucasfilm lists its worldwide launch date as October 6, 2026, with releases for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The game has a single-player campaign and multiplayer, and its runs-based structure lets players choose racing craft, upgrades, events, and routes. Official materials name Jakku and Ando Prime among its locations and note the return of Sebulba. Lucasfilm’s announcement and interview also identify Standard, Deluxe, and Collector’s editions.

What does the free Prime offer include?
According to Creative Bloq’s October 6, 2026 report, Prime members in eligible regions can play the single-player campaign through Luna at no additional cost. The report does not say that Prime provides a game download, a console or PC license, or access to every mode. It also does not list the eligible regions, so availability should be checked for your location.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteThe report describes access through a browser or the Prime Video app on a browser, mobile device, or Fire TV. Amazon’s Head of Gaming, Jeff Gattis, said in the report: “Luna players can jump into the single-player campaign today without needing to own a console or wait for a lengthy download.” That is Amazon’s description of the service, not a guarantee that access works on every device or in every region.

How does Luna access differ from buying the game?
| Access route | What is established | What to keep in mind |
|---|---|---|
| Amazon Luna with Prime | Stream the single-player campaign at no additional cost for Prime members in eligible regions, according to the October 6, 2026 report. | It is streaming, not a free download; the report does not enumerate eligible regions or establish access to multiplayer. |
| Console or PC release | Lucasfilm lists PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with Standard, Deluxe, and Collector’s editions. | This is a separate game purchase route. Check the current price, format, edition contents, and availability with the relevant retailer or platform. |
If you want to try the campaign without owning a console, Luna is the reported route, subject to Prime membership and regional eligibility. If you want a console or PC copy, treat that as a separate purchase; the Luna report does not establish that Prime includes it.

The Creative Bloq headline uses “millions,” but its report does not provide a count, measurement, or named statistical source for that figure. It should not be read as a verified estimate of how many people can play or have played the game. The supported figures here are release details: October 6, 2026, and the announced PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms.
