In the Cost of Hope expansion’s “Unexpected Alliance” mission, speak with Nitro at the Testing Ground in the Iron Forest. Climb the ladder directly opposite him and follow the broken metal framework, platforms and ladders to the tower. At the top, interact with the repeater, defeat the threat that appears, and interact with the repeater again before returning to Nitro.
Where to start the repeater objective
The repeater objective is part of “Unexpected Alliance,” a main mission in Cost of Hope. Nitro is at the Testing Ground in the Iron Forest; he sends Skif to investigate after the repeater goes quiet. The expansion launched on August 20, 2026, for PC, Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PS5 Pro, according to GSC Game World. GSC says access is included with the Ultimate Edition or Season Pass, or available by purchasing the expansion separately.

How to climb to the repeater
- Start at Nitro. Face the ladder directly opposite him and climb to the first platform.
- Follow the broken structure upward. Continue along the connected metal beams and platforms, using the ladders you encounter. The route is narrow and exposed, with gaps where a fall can be fatal, so cross carefully rather than rushing.
- Pause at anomalies. Published walkthroughs describe different hazards on the ascent: one reports floating leaves that launch Skif across a gap and advises moving backward as the launch begins; another describes an electrical anomaly at a gap that an electro-orb suppresses briefly, with bolts used against other anomalies. These accounts may refer to different obstacles or versions, and do not establish that both mechanics occur in the same place. - Reach the tower top. Keep following the connected framework and ladders until you arrive at the repeater.
What to do when you reach the repeater
Interact with the repeater once to trigger the malfunction encounter. A hostile threat appears; the guides describe it respectively as a Poltergeist and a flying anomaly. Defeat it, then interact with the repeater a second time. Check that the mission objective updates before you leave the tower.
How to get back to Nitro
Retrace the tower route and descend using the platforms and ladders. Do not jump down: the climb remains hazardous on the way back. Once you reach the Testing Ground, speak with Nitro to continue the mission.
