Lex the Legend’s stash is a con, not a hidden cache of valuable gear. Find the supposed stash west of the Flea Market in Garbage, then follow the reported lead through Vova Amalgam to Lex’s later location at Swamp Tram in Zaton. Be ready for a hostile confrontation; guides do not establish a peaceful resolution or a guaranteed haul of stolen equipment.
Where to meet Lex and find the fake stash
Meet Lex at the Flea Market
Lex first appears at the Flea Market in the Garbage region. He offers advice and, when challenged, points you toward a stash. This is the start of the scam story, rather than a reliable promise of valuable loot. VideoGamer’s walkthrough and XboxPlay’s guide both place the encounter there.

Search west of the market
Head west from the Flea Market and check the tractor described in the guides. The reported stash contains a broken pistol and a note, not the valuable supplies Lex suggested. Accounts differ on the pistol’s exact designation and whether bread is also present, so those details should not be treated as consistent across reports. The note’s warning sums up the joke: “Don’t trust the loudmouths promising dope loot.” VideoGamer attributes that line to the in-game note.

How to track Lex to Swamp Tram
Lex’s later reported location is the Swamp Tram point of interest in Zaton. One route described by XboxPlay is to rescue Vova Amalgam in the Electric Field and speak with him for information about Lex. Treat Vova as a reported lead: available guides do not establish that rescuing him triggers the same result in every save or game version.
#1 Best Overall
- Battle against over 50 players simultaneously in a massive multiplayer playground—over 20 players on Xbox One.
- Compete in an all-out mass start race—collide, grind, and fight your way to the finish
- Customize your character to show off your style to your friends or show up the competition.
- Bike, ski, snowboard, or wingsuit through a seamless open world in Career mode or multiplayer events.
- Go wild on the heights of iconic US national parks like Yosemite, Zion, and Bryce Canyon.
If the lead does not progress as expected, check that you have actually spoken with Vova after the rescue and revisit the Swamp Tram area. The sources do not confirm a universal quest trigger or provide a patch-specific guarantee, so your in-game quest state may differ from the walkthrough.

Expect the encounter to become a fight. The guides describe a hostile confrontation rather than a peaceful settlement, so prepare before approaching if your character is low on health or ammunition. VideoGamer reports that killing Lex lets you loot his PDA. The PDA identifies him with the alias Snag and connects the scam to a kingpin; VideoGamer names Varan, while Gamer Guides’ PDA entry also supports the Snag identity and the scam connection.
Rank #2
The reliable payoff is confronting Lex and learning more about the scam. The available walkthroughs do not establish that every playthrough awards a particular weapon or lets you recover all the gear he stole, so do not count on a specific reward.
