Soundous Moufakir says she started MoroMaa after struggling to find products in Asia that reflected the Moroccan beauty rituals she grew up with. The beauty and body-care brand launched in India on June 27, 2026, and has raised ₹1.5 crore from AJVC investor Aviral Bhatnagar to support its next stage of growth.
What is MoroMaa?
MoroMaa is a beauty and body-care brand founded by Moufakir, known to many viewers as a winner of Splitsvilla. Its positioning centres on Moroccan ingredients and beauty rituals, adapted for Indian consumers. The brand calls this approach “M Beauty,” meaning Moroccan beauty.
On its company story page, MoroMaa says it sources key ingredients from Morocco and draws inspiration from Moroccan hammam and home beauty traditions. Those are the company’s descriptions of its sourcing and heritage.

Moufakir told the Hindustan Times that after moving to Asia she found it difficult to locate the products and ingredients she associated with Moroccan rituals. The gap prompted her to build a brand around those practices for a new market.

As she put it to ETEntrepreneur: “MoroMaa started with a simple idea: to bring the beauty rituals and ingredients I grew up with in Morocco to India.”
What products and ingredients does MoroMaa offer?
The formulation described by Moufakir
In the Hindustan Times interview, Moufakir described a formulation containing 5 percent argan oil, 3.5 percent ghassoul clay, 2 percent neroli oil, and brown sugar. She said it is intended to work as a scrub, mask, and moisturizer, and is made for all skin types. These are the founder’s descriptions of the formulation and intended use, not independent findings about its performance.

The current storefront listing
MoroMaa’s storefront lists a product called “Moroccan Argan Nila Ritual,” described as an oil-based face and body scrub. Its listed directions are to apply it to damp skin, massage in circular movements, and leave it on briefly like a mask. The storefront also lists other face and body products. Listings, instructions, formulations, prices, and stock may change; check the product page for current details. The available information does not establish that this listed scrub is the same formulation Moufakir described in the interview.

ETEntrepreneur reported that MoroMaa raised ₹1.5 crore from Aviral Bhatnagar of AJVC. The Hindustan Times interview specifies that the investment was for a 9 percent equity stake. ETEntrepreneur says the company plans to use the funding to expand its product range, strengthen distribution, and build awareness of Moroccan beauty in India. Moufakir described the financing as seed funding to help scale the business and its team.
What early progress has the company reported?
The Hindustan Times interview reports that two MoroMaa products sold out within the first few months after launch. This is company-reported early traction, not an independently audited sales figure.
What challenges does Moufakir see in building the business?
Moufakir says operations require coordination across Moroccan hero ingredients, Indian ingredients, manufacturing, labeling, and packaging. She also describes inventory management as difficult: a sudden rise in demand can leave the brand out of stock and cost it potential sales. Her account highlights the practical complexity of bringing together ingredients and production across supply chains; it does not establish how often stockouts occur.

How does Moufakir think about investing?
Moufakir says her first questions about a company are whether it solves a real problem and fills a gap, followed by whether its founder can execute. She has applied that problem-and-execution lens to MoroMaa’s own ambition: building a business around a need she says she encountered herself.
