Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered is a strong choice if you want a story-led, single-player Spider-Man adventure with acrobatic combat, web-swinging across Marvel’s New York, and three included post-story chapters. The main trade-off is platform-dependent: PC offers extensive graphics and display controls but needs capable hardware for higher targets, while PS5 adds console-specific visual, audio, and controller features. The remaster also changes Peter Parker’s face model, which may matter if you prefer the original.
What you get in Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered
This is an original story starring an experienced Peter Parker, rather than a direct adaptation of a film. The Steam listing includes The City That Never Sleeps: three chapters set after the main story, with additional missions and challenges. That makes the included package more substantial than the main campaign alone.
The game is single-player. You spend its action-adventure campaign moving through the city, fighting with acrobatic attacks and web-based abilities, and traversing New York by web-swinging.
Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered pros and cons at a glance
| What to weigh | Pros | Cons or caveats |
|---|---|---|
| Story and content | Original Peter Parker story; Steam lists three post-story chapters with extra missions and challenges. | It is a single-player experience, not a multiplayer game. |
| PC edition | Graphics settings, unlocked frame rates, ultrawide and multi-monitor support, mouse and keyboard, and supported upscaling options. | Higher resolution and ray-tracing targets call for stronger components; published targets are not a guarantee of performance on every PC. |
| PS5 edition | Improved visual detail, a Performance Mode targeting 60 fps, faster loading, Spatial 3D Audio on compatible headphones, and DualSense features. | It uses a different Peter Parker face model from the original PS4 release. |
| Controls and accessibility | PC supports customizable mouse-and-keyboard controls; assistance and accessibility options cover several common gameplay and input needs. | Some controller features have connection requirements on PC, and options can differ by game version. |
Why the game is appealing
A complete-feeling story package
The original Peter Parker story is the central draw, and the included The City That Never Sleeps chapters extend the experience with more missions and challenges after the main story. Steam’s listing describes this content as included; check the store listing for your region and platform before purchase, since storefront terms and availability can vary.

PC gives you more ways to tune the presentation
PlayStation lists adjustable graphics quality, unlocked frame rates, ray-traced reflections, ultrawide and multi-monitor support, and DLSS, DLAA, and AMD FSR 2.0. These are options, not universal enhancements: the results depend on compatible hardware, display support, and the settings you choose.
Keyboard and mouse are supported, with customizable controls. Steam Input also provides remapping options, so a dedicated controller is not required to play on PC.

What to consider before choosing a platform
PC: match expectations to your hardware
PlayStation publishes the following average performance targets and example hardware tiers for PC. These are publisher specifications, not independent benchmark results, and they should not be treated as a promise that a particular computer will maintain the stated frame rate in every scene.
| Published target | Example graphics hardware | Example processor | Memory |
|---|---|---|---|
| 720p at 30 fps, very low settings | GTX 950 or AMD equivalent | Core i3-4160 or AMD equivalent | 8 GB RAM |
| 1080p at 60 fps, medium settings | GTX 1060 6 GB or Radeon RX 580 | Core i5-4670 or Ryzen 5 1600 | 16 GB RAM |
| 4K at 60 fps, very high settings | RTX 3070 or Radeon RX 6800 XT | Core i5-11400 or Ryzen 5 3600 | 16 GB RAM |
| 1440p at 60 fps or 4K at 30 fps, high ray tracing | RTX 3070 or Radeon RX 6900 XT | Core i5-11600K or Ryzen 7 3700X | 16 GB RAM |
| 4K at 60 fps, very high ray tracing | RTX 3080 or Radeon RX 6950 XT | Core i7-12700K or Ryzen 9 5900X | 32 GB RAM |
PlayStation’s listed PC requirements specify Windows 10 64-bit and 75 GB of storage. Steam also lists Windows 10 64-bit, DirectX 12, and 75 GB. Check the current store listing and your system configuration for any changes or additional requirements.

The PS5 version is a more straightforward fit if you want the remaster’s console presentation without adjusting PC graphics settings. Its Performance Mode targets 60 fps, but the cited specification does not establish a fixed frame rate in every situation. DualSense features, spatial audio, and display capabilities also depend on the equipment you use.

DualSense on PC is optional, with a wired-USB condition
You can play the PC version with customizable keyboard-and-mouse controls. If you want DualSense haptic feedback and adaptive triggers on PC, PlayStation specifies a DualSense controller connected by wired USB. A controller is therefore an optional preference, not a requirement.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. The clearest remaster caveat: Peter Parker’s face model
The PS5 remaster replaces John Bubniak’s Peter Parker face model with Ben Jordan’s. Insomniac says the change was made to better match Yuri Lowenthal’s facial capture. The story and character remain Peter Parker, but the different likeness is a visible presentation change and may be a drawback if you strongly prefer the original model.
Who should choose Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered?
- Choose it if you want a single-player Spider-Man story, enjoy web-swinging and action combat, and value the included post-story chapters.
- Choose the PC edition if you want graphics and display options, ultrawide support, or keyboard-and-mouse controls—and your computer can meet the target you want.
- Choose the PS5 edition if you want the remaster’s console-specific visual, audio, loading, and DualSense features in a console setup.
- Pause before buying if you strongly prefer the original Peter Parker face model, need a particular accessibility feature, or expect a specific PC frame rate without checking your hardware and settings.
Prices and promotions vary by region and storefront, so compare the current local listings on Steam and PlayStation Store rather than assuming one platform is always cheaper.
