A report about special dividend stocks promised five firms but named six: TCS, JSW Dulux, Indo Borax & Chemicals, Premco Global, Majestic Auto and Honda India Power Products. Company records confirm special dividends for TCS and JSW Dulux, but the available filings do not verify the reported special-dividend amounts for the other four. One discrepancy is material: Honda India Power Products’ reviewed filing declares a ₹100 interim dividend, not the ₹10 special dividend claimed in the report.
What the company filings confirm
Dividend labels matter. A special dividend is not interchangeable with an interim or final dividend, and a proposed payout is not the same as one already declared. The available primary records support the following distinctions.
| Company | Dividend information established | Status and record or payment details |
|---|---|---|
| Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) | ₹46 per share special dividend and a separate ₹11 per share interim dividend for Q3 FY2025-26. | The special dividend’s record date was 17 January 2026; TCS lists actual payment on 3 February 2026. |
| JSW Dulux (formerly Akzo Nobel India Limited) | ₹156 per share special interim dividend. A separate ₹50 per share final dividend was recommended. | The special dividend is recorded in the FY2025-26 annual report. The final dividend remains subject to shareholder approval. The board outcome dated 13 May 2026 describes ₹206 per share as the recommended total for the year. |
| Premco Global | The 30 July 2025 filing records a ₹4 per share first interim dividend. It does not establish the reported special-dividend amount. | The filing gives an 8 August 2025 record date for the first interim dividend and also provides a record date for a proposed final dividend. It does not verify the reported special payout. |
| Honda India Power Products | The reviewed board outcome declares a ₹100 per share interim dividend for FY2025-26. | The filing, dated 12 August 2025, gives 21 August 2025 as the record date. It does not verify the report’s separate claim of a ₹10 special dividend. |
| Indo Borax & Chemicals | The secondary report names the company, but no corresponding primary declaration was confirmed in the materials reviewed. | Special-dividend type, amount, declaration status, record date and payment date are not established. |
| Majestic Auto | The secondary report names the company, but no corresponding primary declaration was confirmed in the materials reviewed. | Special-dividend type, amount, declaration status, record date and payment date are not established. |
Where the reported claims do not match the available evidence
Premco Global: the reported special amount is inconsistent
The report gives two different figures for Premco Global’s alleged special dividend: ₹35 per share in its table and ₹36 per share in its text. The company filing dated 30 July 2025 establishes a ₹4 first interim dividend, not either special-dividend figure. It also refers to a proposed final dividend. Those are separate events; the available filing does not establish that Premco declared the reported special dividend.

Honda India Power Products: an interim payout is verified, not the claimed special payout
The report describes a ₹10 per share special dividend. The company’s board outcome dated 12 August 2025 instead records a ₹100 per share interim dividend for FY2025-26, with a 21 August 2025 record date. These could be separate events, but the reviewed filing does not confirm the reported ₹10 special dividend. The figures should not be merged or treated as a correction to one another without a declaration establishing that link.

Indo Borax and Majestic Auto: amounts remain unconfirmed
The report names both companies, but the materials reviewed do not include a matching primary declaration for either. Their dividend type, per-share amount, status and dates therefore cannot be stated as confirmed facts.
How to read a special-dividend announcement
Before treating a reported payout as an announced special dividend, check the company’s exchange filing or investor-relations record. Compare the event details rather than relying on a headline or a single figure.
- Dividend type: Confirm whether the filing says special, interim or final. These labels describe distinct corporate actions.
- Amount per share: Check the declared figure against the filing; do not combine amounts from separate dividends.
- Status: Distinguish a declared dividend from one already paid or merely proposed. A proposed final dividend remains subject to shareholder approval where applicable.
- Record date: Use the date stated for that specific dividend event, not a date attached to another payout by the same company.
- Payment date: Treat it as a separate detail from the record date; it may be stated independently in company records.
TCS’s records illustrate why this matters: the same quarter included a ₹46 special dividend and a separate ₹11 interim dividend. JSW Dulux’s FY2025-26 figures likewise distinguish its ₹156 special interim dividend from a proposed ₹50 final dividend.
What investors can conclude from this report
The report is a lead to six company names, not a reliable six-company list of verified special dividends. Primary company records confirm TCS’s ₹46 special dividend and JSW Dulux’s ₹156 special interim dividend. The available records for Premco Global and Honda India Power Products establish other dividend events but do not verify the special-dividend claims attributed to them; the corresponding claims for Indo Borax & Chemicals and Majestic Auto remain unconfirmed in the materials reviewed. A definitive comparison of all six requires the original company or exchange declarations for the unresolved claims.
