Godlike.Host offers hosted Soulmask servers with its own game panel, SFTP access and free DDoS protection, if you would rather not host it yourself.
Soulmask has two different systems that players call a cross-server portal. On eligible official PvP servers, the original transfer portal is above a Pyramid. For Shifting Sands, travel uses a portal terminal at the mysterious island after administrators link two dedicated servers. The location, requirements and character rules depend on which system you are using.
Identify the mode before troubleshooting. A normal Teleporter or Mysterious Portal is not automatically the cross-server entrance, and a single-server setting cannot create the Shifting Sands connection by itself.

The current Soulmask location index lists two locations under Cross-Map Portal. It lists ordinary Teleporters and Mysterious Portals separately, so use the specific portal category and destination described for your mode rather than relying on a similar-looking fast-travel marker.
Original PvP cross-server portal: location and operation
Where the portal is
The official Soulmask Steam announcement published June 20, 2024 places the original PvP transfer entrance above a Pyramid. Its wording says: “Players on these servers can teleport to other servers in the same region or same war zone via the portal above Pyramid.” Travel therefore begins at a Pyramid-area portal, not at a random Teleporter, a Mysterious Portal or a menu option in the character screen.

Who can use it
This feature was initially enabled for PvP servers released during the first week of Early Access. Soulmask then enabled additional servers in batches based on release time. A portal can be physically present while the server is still outside an enabled batch, so seeing the structure does not prove that every destination is available.
Destination eligibility is also limited. The official announcement describes travel to servers in the same region or the same war zone. Community instructions from June 2024 further describe the feature as operating among official PvP servers in the same group. Treat the group detail as implementation guidance from that period, not as a guarantee that every later build uses identical rules.

- Confirm that you are playing on an official PvP server rather than assuming a PvE or privately configured server supports the original system.
- Travel to the portal above a Pyramid.
- Interact with the portal. Early instructions use the E interaction key.
- Review the available-server window. It should show only destinations that meet the enabled-server, region, war-zone and group conditions.
- If the destination is listed, follow the confirmation prompts shown by your current game build. If it is absent, do not treat the absence as a map-location error; eligibility is evaluated before the destination list is populated.
What transfers in this version
June 2024 community instructions describe an NPC-based transfer rather than moving the main player character directly through the portal. That detail belongs to the early implementation and should not be generalized to every current portal mode or game version. The available evidence does not establish one universal rule for inventory, buildings, save overwrites or progression when moving between all PvP servers, so those mechanics should be verified against the rules for the particular server group and build.

Shifting Sands cross-map portal: the required setup
It is a two-server cluster, not a single toggle
The Shifting Sands system connects the Cloud Mist Forest base map to a separate Shifting Sands server. The dedicated-server documentation requires two Soulmask servers: a main server for the base map and a client server for Shifting Sands. The main server uses server ID 1; the client server uses server ID 2.
Every player who wants to enter Shifting Sands must own the Shifting Sands DLC. DLC ownership alone is insufficient if the two servers are not linked and running with matching cross-server settings.
Server-side settings
Administrators must configure the main-server broadcast value and the client-server connection address so that each server can discover the other. The Shifting Sands server must use the level selection DLC_Level01_Main. Both servers must have the cross-server switch enabled with KaiQiKuaFu=1.

- Main server: server ID
1, base-map instance and the configured broadcast value. - Shifting Sands server: server ID

KaiQiKuaFu=1. - Operational order: start the main server first and stop it last.
Starting the client before the main server, or shutting down the main server first, can produce connection errors even when the individual configuration values look correct.
How to travel to Shifting Sands in-game
- Verify that your account owns the Shifting Sands DLC.
- Ask the administrator to confirm that both linked servers are online, the IDs are
1and2, the Shifting Sands server usesDLC_Level01_Main, andKaiQiKuaFu=1is active on both. - On the main map, travel to the mysterious island.
- Find the portal terminal there. This terminal is the cross-map entrance for the linked-server setup; ordinary Teleporters and Mysterious Portals elsewhere are separate systems.
- Interact with the terminal and choose the Shifting Sands destination when it is offered.
- After finishing in Shifting Sands, use the corresponding terminal on the linked map to return. Keep both servers available during the transition.
The documented setup guide explicitly states: “Only characters that are not the first created character can transfer between servers.” In practice, that means the first-created character on the account or server should not be promised access to this cross-map transfer. Use an eligible later-created character instead.
Why the portal may be disabled or show no destination
You are using the wrong portal system
The Pyramid portal belongs to the original official PvP feature. The mysterious-island terminal belongs to the Shifting Sands linked-server feature. Looking for one while playing the other mode can make a working system appear missing.

The PvP server is not eligible
Check whether the server was enabled for cross-server travel and whether the target belongs to the same permitted region, war zone or server group. The initial rollout was staged, so not every server had access at the same time. A portal above a Pyramid does not override those eligibility checks.
The Shifting Sands pair is incomplete
A single server cannot provide this cross-map feature. Confirm that both instances exist, that the base server is ID 1, that the Shifting Sands server is ID 2, and that the connection address and broadcast value point to the correct machines.
The level or switch is wrong
On the Shifting Sands server, check the level selection DLC_Level01_Main. On both servers, check KaiQiKuaFu=1. A missing switch or a typo in the level name prevents the terminal from exposing the destination.

The servers started in the wrong order
Start the main server first, then start the Shifting Sands server. When taking the cluster offline, stop the client first and the main server last. This order is specifically recommended to avoid connection errors.
The character is not eligible
For the documented Shifting Sands setup, the first-created character cannot transfer. Switch to a character created after that one. Do not infer a universal character rule for the original PvP portal from this DLC-specific restriction.
The DLC is missing
Every player entering Shifting Sands must own the DLC. If the server pair is configured correctly but the destination remains unavailable for one player, check that player’s DLC entitlement rather than changing the portal location.

- Pyramid portal: associated with the original official PvP server-transfer system.
- Mysterious-island terminal: associated with the linked Cloud Mist Forest and Shifting Sands servers.
- Ordinary Teleporter: a separate fast-travel category, not proof of cross-server support.
- Other Mysterious Portals: separate map locations unless the terminal is specifically identified as the Shifting Sands cross-map entrance.
The location index’s separate categories are useful when a map marker looks similar to the portal you need. Check the destination name and the interaction prompt, not only the artwork or icon.
Administrator checklist before inviting players
- Decide whether the cluster is for original PvP server travel or Shifting Sands cross-map travel.
- For PvP travel, confirm official PvP status, rollout eligibility and the allowed region, war zone and server group.
- For Shifting Sands, provision exactly two linked servers and assign IDs
1and2. - Set the main-server broadcast value and the client-server connection address.
- Set the Shifting Sands level to
DLC_Level01_Main. - Set
KaiQiKuaFu=1on both servers. - Start the main server before the client and stop it after the client.
- Tell players that DLC ownership is required and that the first-created character is excluded by the documented Shifting Sands rule.
- Test the terminal at the mysterious island with an eligible character before announcing that the cluster is ready.
What is not universal across portal modes
Soulmask’s two systems should not be treated as one transfer mechanic. The PvP feature is governed by server rollout and matchmaking boundaries, while Shifting Sands is a deliberately configured two-server map connection. The available documentation does not establish a single cross-mode policy for inventories, bases, save replacement, equipment or main-character progression. Those outcomes can depend on the game version and server implementation, so communicate the exact rules for the portal your players will use rather than promising that all progress follows them.
