Neither Sony nor Samsung makes the better soundbar across the board. The right choice depends on the exact models, your TV’s audio connections, the formats you watch, and whether you value surround presentation or format support more. Choose the Samsung HW-B750F if surround presentation and tuning matter most
Its 5.1 configuration, side-firing drivers, and additional sound controls make the Samsung the stronger fit in this comparison for someone who wants a more enveloping presentation or likes to adjust bass and treble. That does not guarantee it will sound better in every room: placement, room shape and personal preference still matter.

Consider the Sony BRAVIA Theater Bar 5 if format support over ARC is a priority
The Sony’s reported support for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X over ARC may suit a setup where those formats matter and eARC is unavailable. It is a 3.1 system, so weigh that configuration against the Samsung’s 5.1 layout, and confirm that your TV and source can pass the formats you want.
Check the TV connection and the complete bundle
Before buying either model, verify the TV’s HDMI audio return channel capability and format pass-through, then confirm the soundbar’s supported formats on that exact connection. ARC and eARC are not interchangeable in every setup, and a soundbar cannot reproduce a format that the source or TV fails to deliver.

When a different Samsung tier may make more sense
The HW-B750F versus Bar 5 comparison is not a flagship comparison. Samsung’s 2025 Q-series included several higher-tier options, including the HW-Q990F, specified by Samsung as 11.1.4, and the HW-Q900F, a 7.1.2 model. Samsung described Q-Symphony synchronization for compatible Samsung TVs and other devices; compatibility depends on the specific products. Samsung announced the all-in-one HW-QS90H for 2026. In a review published October 2, 2026, What Hi-Fi? praised its wide Atmos soundstage and clear dialogue in the scenes tested, but noted that dialogue nuance was less convincing in a diner scene and that voice enhancement sounded less natural. Other current models also illustrate why a brand-level verdict is too broad: Tom’s Guide’s 2026 guide recommends the Sony Theater Bar 7 as a midrange Wi-Fi model with a subwoofer and clear dialogue, while describing Samsung’s QS750F as a value package with rear speakers and a subwoofer. TechRadar’s buying guide describes Samsung’s HW-Q800F as a 2025 5.1.2 bar-and-sub combination with Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Q-Symphony, and praises its clarity and effects positioning. Those assessments concern different models, not the HW-B750F versus Bar 5 matchup.

For the specific HW-B750F and BRAVIA Theater Bar 5 comparison, Samsung has the edge if you prioritize a 5.1 layout, spatial presentation and sound adjustments. Sony is worth considering if its broader reported format support over ARC is more useful to your setup. For a more immersive or higher-tier system, compare complete bundles and exact models rather than treating this midrange pairing as a verdict on either brand.
