There is no single screenshot shortcut documented for every Sony BRAVIA TV. Check your exact model’s Sony manual first; if your Android-based TV has authorized ADB access, you can capture its display from a computer with Android’s screencap command.
Can you take a screenshot on a Sony BRAVIA TV?
It depends on the model and its software platform. Sony says compatible functions and operating procedures vary by TV model and connected device. Its support guidance does not establish one universal screenshot procedure for BRAVIA TVs. Start with Sony’s model-specific support resources and the manual for your TV; Sony’s model help pages can also help you identify whether your TV runs Android TV or Google TV.
Find the model-specific instructions first
- Find the TV’s full model number. Check the label on the TV or the model information in its settings; the exact location can differ by model.
- Search for that model on Sony Support and open its manual and help materials.
- Confirm the TV’s platform and check whether Sony documents a screenshot procedure for that specific model. If the manual does not describe one, do not assume a remote-button combination will work.
Sony notes that operating procedures vary by model and connected device in its guidance on wirelessly displaying computer content on a BRAVIA TV. That statement is a reason to check model-specific documentation, not evidence of a screenshot shortcut.
Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteWindows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread

For a technically comfortable user with an Android-based BRAVIA, Android Debug Bridge (ADB) access enabled on the TV, and a computer authorized to connect, Android Developers documents a command-line capture method. Its documentation describes screencap as a shell utility for capturing a device display. This is a technical workaround, not a built-in remote-control feature or a universal Sony consumer procedure.

- Set up ADB on your computer and enable and authorize debugging access on the TV. The exact TV settings and authorization prompts can differ by model and software version; consult the TV’s Sony documentation.
- Connect to the TV with ADB, following the connection method appropriate to your setup.
- In the computer’s terminal or command prompt, run:
adb exec-out screencap -p > screen.png
The command writes screen.png to the computer’s current working folder. Android Developers also documents a two-command alternative: run adb shell screencap /sdcard/screen.png, then copy the file to the computer with adb pull /sdcard/screen.png. See the official Android Debug Bridge documentation for ADB details. If the TV does not allow or authorize ADB, this method is unavailable; use Sony’s model-specific documentation rather than assuming the commands apply.
Why USB storage and a keyboard are not confirmed shortcuts
Sony’s USB storage guidance covers viewing photos and videos from a USB device. It does not describe saving a screenshot of the live TV display, so connecting a USB drive is not an established screenshot-export method.

Some community discussion suggests using a keyboard’s Print Screen key, but that anecdotal suggestion does not establish compatibility across BRAVIA models. Treat it as unverified unless your model’s documentation confirms it.
