What is confirmed about SONIC PICO PARK controls
The available official information establishes two platform-specific facts:
- Steam/PC: the Steam store listing advertises full controller support. It does not publish a complete control map or explain how button changes are made.
- PlayStation: the PlayStation Store listing describes basic controller remapping. It does not enumerate every remappable action or state that the same interface appears on Steam or other platforms.
Those descriptions are feature flags, not a step-by-step manual. There is currently no verified source for the exact in-game menu path, default keyboard layout, button-by-button map, dead-zone controls, sensitivity sliders, or whether remapping is saved per player. Treat any such details seen in guides for another title as unconfirmed until they appear in the released SONIC PICO PARK build.

Do not convert the table into a cross-platform promise. “Full controller support” on Steam does not prove that keyboard keys can be remapped, and “basic controller remapping” on PlayStation does not prove that Steam has an identical editor. The safest workflow is platform-specific: use the released game’s own controls screen first, then use operating-system or console-level accessibility settings only when the game does not provide the change you need.
Before you try to customize anything
Confirm that you have the released build
At the source-check date of October 13, 2026, Steam displayed SONIC PICO PARK as not yet available. Store availability, launch timing, and final features can change, so check the live listing and the game’s current version before diagnosing a missing option. A pre-release page, a demo, and a launch build may expose different menus.
Identify the input you want to change
Write down whether you are changing a keyboard key, a USB or Bluetooth controller button, or a PlayStation controller assignment. How to change controls on Steam/PC
Steam confirms controller support, but no official source currently supplies the exact SONIC PICO PARK menu route. The following is a verification procedure, not an invented button map.
- Install and launch the released SONIC PICO PARK build from your Steam library. If Steam still marks it unavailable, there is no in-game control screen to troubleshoot yet.
- From the title screen, pause screen, or lobby, look for a label such as Controls, Options, Settings, or Input. The published listings do not establish which label is used or where it appears.
- Open the input page and check whether it shows separate keyboard and controller columns, player-specific profiles, or only a controller layout. Do not assume that an item shown in one column can be edited in another.
- Select the action you need to change and follow the on-screen prompt for assigning a key or button. If the game asks you to press a replacement input, press it once and wait for the displayed assignment to update.
- Look for an explicit Apply, Save, or Confirm command. If no save command is visible, leave the page using the game’s own back command and return to verify that the new assignment remains.
- Run the co-op test described above. Check every connected player, because a change may apply only to the currently selected profile.
If the released game has no remapping editor, Steam’s controller layer may offer a separate configuration facility. That would be a Steam-level workaround rather than evidence that SONIC PICO PARK itself supports keyboard remapping. Keep a note of the original assignment before changing a global or per-game Steam layout, and restore it when troubleshooting is complete.
What the Steam listing does not establish
- A default keyboard layout or whether keyboard play is supported for every mode.
- A specific Steam Input workflow, menu name, or template.

The PlayStation Store lists basic controller remapping, so a remap function is part of the advertised feature set. The listing does not reveal whether the editor is reached from the title screen, pause menu, lobby, or a console accessibility panel. Use this sequence to locate and validate the feature without assuming a menu path:

- Start SONIC PICO PARK and wait until you can access its main menu or a playable session.
- Open the game’s visible Controls, Options, or Settings entry. If the game offers more than one settings area, inspect the input section rather than audio or display settings.
- Look for an action list that identifies the current button and a remap command. “Basic” may mean that only selected actions can be changed; the store page does not define the scope.
- Assign the replacement button exactly as prompted, then accept or save if the screen provides that command.
- Test the assignment in a safe part of a local session, including the actions used by every player who will join.
If the game does not expose a usable editor for a particular accessibility need, PlayStation’s system-level controller-accessibility features may be an alternative. A system remap changes the meaning of buttons outside the game as well, so record the original arrangement and switch it back after playing. Does SONIC PICO PARK support a controller?
Yes, controller use is explicitly advertised on Steam, and the PlayStation edition is described with controller remapping. A generic PC-compatible game controller is therefore a reasonable optional accessory for a Steam setup. It is not a requirement established by the available information, and no particular model has been tested or endorsed here.
Connecting a controller on PC
- Connect the controller before launching the game when possible; this makes it easier to see whether Steam recognizes it.
- Use the same connection method for every player during your first test, then add Bluetooth or additional USB devices one at a time.
- Confirm that the intended controller is the one receiving input in the game’s own control screen. A controller can be visible to Steam while another device has focus in the game.
- If an assignment appears to work in menus but not during play, test the action in a live local session before changing drivers or global mappings.
Connecting multiple local players
The official listing does not state a maximum number of controllers, whether keyboard and controller inputs can be mixed, or whether each player needs a separate profile. Connect only the devices your group needs, start a local session, and verify player ownership one device at a time. If a new controller takes over an existing player, return to the lobby and rejoin in a different order rather than assuming the game is broken.
Legacy information from the earlier PICO PARK

The game does not react to a controller
- Verify that the controller is recognized by the operating system or console before opening SONIC PICO PARK.
- Close other games and input tools that might have captured the device, then relaunch the game with the intended controller already connected.
- Test the controller in the game’s title screen and in a playable session. If it works in one but not the other, note the exact screen before changing settings.
- Try one controller by itself. If it works alone, reconnect additional devices one at a time to identify a conflict or player-assignment issue.
- Use platform-level remapping only after confirming that the game’s own controls page cannot provide the needed assignment.
A remap option is missing
First confirm that you are running the released build and not an older demo or an outdated installation. Steam’s listing does not promise remapping, while PlayStation’s listing says only that basic remapping exists; neither description guarantees that every action is editable. If the option is absent on Steam, do not infer that the game is malfunctioning solely because a PlayStation guide shows a remap screen.
The assignment resets after restarting
Check for a save or apply command and repeat the test with one player profile. If the game offers no persistence indicator, record the behavior and use the platform’s documented support channel for the current release. Avoid changing several global controller layers at once, because that makes it impossible to tell whether the reset came from the game, Steam, or the console.

Two players receive the same input
Disconnect all but one device, start a fresh local session, and add the remaining devices in a known order. Because no official source states how SONIC PICO PARK assigns local players, a duplicated input may be a join-order or profile-selection issue rather than a failed button remap. Check each player’s displayed device before attempting deeper configuration changes.

A guide gives different instructions
Compare its title, platform, and publication date. Instructions that mention the earlier PICO PARK, a different console generation, or a pre-release build should not be treated as confirmation for SONIC PICO PARK. Prefer labels and prompts visible in your installed build.
Choosing a practical setup for cooperative play
For a first session
- Use one known-working controller per player where possible.
- Keep the default layout until everyone can perform the required actions.
- Change only the actions that cause discomfort or confusion, then test immediately.
- Write down each player’s assignment so another person can restore it later.
For accessibility-focused adjustments
Start with the physical action that is hardest to perform, such as reaching a small button or holding two inputs together. If the game’s basic remapping cannot address it, consider a platform-level remap while remembering that it affects other software. The available listings do not confirm hold-versus-toggle options, repeat rates, sensitivity controls, or one-handed presets, so do not promise those features to another player.
For a mixed keyboard-and-controller group
Test the exact combination after release. The older PICO PARK support reply is not evidence that the newer game accepts mixed devices, and Steam’s full-controller label says nothing about keyboard participation. - Record the platform, store edition, and game version.
- Confirm whether a Controls, Options, or Settings screen is present and note its exact label.
