If the Chapter 5 objective says “Find the last symbol,” head to the locked metal door at the end of the tree-lined hallway, then turn around and climb the ladder behind you. The symbol is revealed in the underground light-lens chamber: clear the dust, route the green, red, and blue beams to their matching points on the central pillar, then take the symbol to the nearby receptacle and enter it on the dial. Reach the underground light-lens chamber
- Follow the tree-lined hallway to the locked metal door at its end.
- Turn around and climb the ladder behind you to reach the upper light-puzzle area.
- Activate the pillar there to start the main beam and open the route down.
- Return to the center and descend into the color-lens chamber.
Light the three points on the central pillar
The chamber puzzle is complete when green, red, and blue light each reach the matching point on the central pillar. Clear dust patches with the beams: dust can hide or block lenses needed to route the light. The guide’s route summary sends green across to an opposite lens and then toward the green point; red through lenses toward the red point; and blue through a hidden lens and a newly revealed one. Red must also be repositioned to free a lens shared by the routing.
These lens directions depend on the room’s spatial layout, so use the game’s view to identify the named lenses if the written route is difficult to follow. The goal is to make all three matching points glow; then collect the revealed symbol, take it to the nearby receptacle, and set the dial to continue. Chapter 5, “Desolation It Wrought,” has several symbol-related tasks. The spike-tile floor puzzle is a separate branch, not the solution to the light-chamber objective. For that trial, the safe sequence is:

All Things How’s guide says the four symbol trials can be completed in any order, so this sequence does not have to be done last.
A later glyph is a different symbol
There is also a story glyph after the Cadmos arena sequence: a backward-P-shaped legacy glyph recorded in Sophia’s book. It is separate from the symbol found in the underground light chamber. The chapter route places the light-lens or statue-door challenge after the four-symbol section; its final section follows the statue sequence and Theseus memory. Nerdschalk distinguishes the later glyph, while the chapter walkthrough describes the broader progression.
