Watch Solo Leveling Season 1 first, then Season 2—Arise from the Shadow. The television story runs in one continuous sequence: episodes 1–12 are Season 1, and episodes 13–25 are Season 2. The recap special “How to Get Stronger” (episode 7.5) is optional, while Solo Leveling -ReAwakening- is a theatrical recap of Season 1 with a preview of Season 2. Solo Leveling: Beyond the System is the announced continuation after Season 2, but no release date has been published.
The correct Solo Leveling watch order
- Season 1, episodes 1–12.
- Season 2 — Arise from the Shadow, episodes 13–25.
- Optional: “How to Get Stronger” (episode 7.5). Watch it after episode 7 only if you want a recap.
- Optional: Solo Leveling -ReAwakening-. It can be watched before Season 2 as a compressed refresher, or skipped if you have seen the series.
- Future entry: Solo Leveling: Beyond the System. This announced theatrical continuation belongs after Season 2 and does not yet have a release date.
For a first viewing, the least repetitive route is Season 1 followed immediately by Season 2. Add the special only during a long break, and treat the recap film as an alternative presentation rather than a required chapter.
Why the episode numbers continue from 12 to 13
The two seasons use a continuous television numbering system instead of restarting at episode 1. Crunchyroll labels the Season 2 premiere as episode 13, and its March 29, 2025 finale report identifies episode 25 as the season finale. That makes the released television sequence 1 through 25, with Season 1 ending at 12 and Season 2 continuing at 13.

This numbering matters when a service lists episodes in a single series page. A listing that begins Season 2 at episode 13 is not missing episodes; it is following the official numbering. If your local catalog separates the seasons into two pages, use the season labels rather than trying to renumber the second batch yourself.

Season 1: start with the main series
Season 1 establishes the setting, the dungeon system, and Sung Jinwoo’s transformation from the weakest hunter into a character who can grow through a unique leveling ability. Watch all twelve episodes in their original episodic format when you are experiencing the story for the first time. The pacing, reveals, and end-of-episode transitions are designed for that order.
Do not begin with the movie if you want the fullest introduction. ReAwakening compresses the first season into a catch-up presentation, so it necessarily removes the breathing room and smaller transitions found in the episodes. It is useful when you need a refresher, not when you want the most complete first encounter.
Where the optional recap fits
“How to Get Stronger” is listed by Crunchyroll as episode 7.5 and had a February 25, 2024 release. It summarizes material from the episodes around it and does not advance the plot beyond what it recaps. Insert it after episode 7 if you have paused the series and need to remember the characters, terminology, or recent events. On an uninterrupted first run, skip it and continue to episode 8; watching it later will not change your understanding of the main story.
Season 2 — Arise from the Shadow
After finishing Season 1, continue with Season 2, whose television episodes are numbered 13 through 25. The season premiered on January 4, 2025, and its finale was reported on March 29, 2025. Use the regular episode list rather than the recap film’s preview as your canonical viewing path, because the full episodes provide the complete scenes and transitions.

The subtitle Arise from the Shadow identifies the second season in many listings. Some services display the title as a separate season, while others place it under the same Solo Leveling series page. Check that the first episode shown is the Season 2 premiere (episode 13) before pressing play.
Should you watch the movie before Season 2?
Only if you specifically want a theatrical recap or have not watched Season 1 recently. The film previews the first two Season 2 episodes, but that preview is not a substitute for watching those episodes in full. If you view the film before the season, still begin the television run at episode 13 so that you do not skip the complete versions of the material shown in the preview.
What “How to Get Stronger” (episode 7.5) contains
The 7.5 special is a recap stop, not a missing story episode. Its purpose is to refresh the viewer on the events already shown in the surrounding Season 1 episodes. It does not introduce a new post-episode-7 plot development, and there is no later-season requirement that depends on it.

- Skip it on a first, uninterrupted run to preserve the series’ forward momentum.
- Do not place it after Season 1 as though it were a bridge to Season 2; it summarizes earlier material.
Because it is a recap, its value is determined by your memory and viewing habits rather than by story chronology. A viewer who remembers the first seven episodes gains little from inserting it; a viewer who watched them months ago may find it convenient.

Solo Leveling -ReAwakening- explained
ReAwakening is a theatrical compilation, not a third season. The official synopsis describes “a catch-up recap of the first season coupled with an exclusive sneak peek of the first two episodes of the highly anticipated second season in one momentous theatrical fan experience.” In practical terms, it combines a condensed Season 1 review with preview footage from Season 2 episodes 13 and 14.
Crunchyroll announced a North American theatrical release for December 6, 2024. That date applies to the North American cinema release; theatrical availability and later catalog access can differ by territory. A local cinema listing or local Crunchyroll catalog is the reliable way to check whether it is available where you live.
When the film is worthwhile
- First-time viewer: Choose the episodes instead. The movie compresses the introduction and is not the most complete route.
- Season 1 viewer preparing for Season 2: The film is a convenient refresher, especially if you want a cinema presentation. Afterward, start Season 2 at episode 13 so the preview does not cause you to omit the full episodes.
- Viewer who has finished both seasons: Expect substantial duplication. The film mainly revisits Season 1 and the opening preview, so it adds presentation value rather than new continuing plot.
- Collector or theatrical fan: The compilation can be worthwhile as a separate cinema-format edition even though it is not required for chronology.
What comes after Season 2?
Solo Leveling: Beyond the System was announced by Crunchyroll and Aniplex in July 2026 as a theatrical continuation from the end of Season 2. It should be treated as the next story entry once released. The announcement cited here does not provide a release date or distribution schedule, so there is no legitimate date to add to a watch calendar yet.

Plan A: uninterrupted first viewing
- Open the official Solo Leveling series listing and select Season 1.
- Watch episodes 1 through 12 in order.
- Move to Season 2, Arise from the Shadow, beginning with episode 13.
- Continue through episode 25 without inserting the recap special or film.
- After the season finale, wait for official information about Beyond the System rather than treating the recap film as the next chapter.
Plan B: you stopped after episode 7
- Play “How to Get Stronger” (7.5) if you need a memory refresh.
- Resume with episode 8 and finish Season 1.
- Start Season 2 at episode 13 when Season 1 is complete.
Plan C: you saw Season 1 a long time ago
- Watch ReAwakening if you prefer a condensed, theatrical reminder.
- Start the television version of Season 2 at episode 13, even though the film previewed its opening material.
- Continue through episode 25 for the complete season presentation.
Plan D: you have already watched both seasons
You can skip both recap productions without losing chronology. Rewatch ReAwakening only for its cinema format, a compact refresher, or collection value. The next chronological item is Beyond the System when its release and availability are officially announced.

Catalogs may separate seasons differently
One platform may show a single list numbered 1–25, while another may divide the same episodes into two season pages. Follow the episode numbers and season labels together. The important checkpoint is that Season 2 begins at episode 13, not that every interface uses identical menus.
Regional access is not uniform
Streaming rights, special-episode listings, and theatrical runs vary by territory. The North American ReAwakening date does not guarantee the same cinema date elsewhere, and an item shown in one country’s Crunchyroll catalog may be absent in another. Verify your local catalog and local theater listings immediately before planning a group watch.

The film’s Season 2 material is explicitly a sneak peek. It is designed to promote or introduce the next season in a theatrical package, not to replace the complete television episodes. Watching the film and then starting Season 2 at episode 15 would skip the full versions of episodes 13 and 14.

Do not treat recap material as required canon progression
Both optional productions serve review purposes: episode 7.5 recaps the first half of Season 1, and ReAwakening recaps Season 1 while previewing the next season. Neither changes the basic order of the released television story.
Source and adaptation context
The anime adapts the Korean webtoon credited to DUBU (REDICE Studio), Chugong, and h-goon. That source context explains why readers who know the webtoon may recognize material ahead of the anime, but it does not change the anime viewing order. Watch the television episodes and optional screen productions according to the sequence above; use the webtoon as a separate reading experience rather than as a reason to rearrange the episodes.
Bottom line for every viewer
Use Season 1 episodes 1–12 followed by Season 2 episodes 13–25 for the complete released anime story. Insert episode 7.5 only as a recap after episode 7, and watch ReAwakening only when you want a condensed theatrical refresher or preview. The announced Beyond the System belongs after Season 2, but its release date and territory-by-territory availability remain unconfirmed.
