The Dimensity 9500s leads the cited 91mobiles benchmark comparison and has newer published platform specifications, but that does not guarantee a faster or longer-lasting phone in every situation. If you are choosing a handset, compare the exact models: cooling, firmware, memory configuration and price can matter more than a chip’s headline score.
At a glance: Dimensity 9500s leads the reported benchmarks
In 91mobiles’ comparison, the Dimensity 9500s has higher reported AnTuTu 11 and Geekbench scores than the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. Those figures are useful as directional evidence, not as a promise about any particular phone: the comparison does not represent a controlled test of two matched handsets.
The published platform specifications also differ. MediaTek lists a 3 nm process and a specific eight-core CPU configuration for the Dimensity 9500s. Qualcomm lists a 4 nm process, a Kryo CPU operating up to 3.2 GHz, and Adreno graphics for the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. Process labels and peak clock speeds alone do not establish real-world battery life or sustained speed.
Specifications compared
| Specification | Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 | Dimensity 9500s |
|---|---|---|
| Manufacturing process | 4 nm, according to Qualcomm’s product page. | 3 nm, according to MediaTek’s product page. |
| CPU | Kryo CPU up to 3.2 GHz; Qualcomm’s brief describes prime and performance cores. | Eight cores: one Cortex-X925 up to 3.73 GHz, three Cortex-X4 and four Cortex-A720. |
| Cache | Not stated in the cited Qualcomm product brief. | 12 MB L3 cache and 10 MB system cache. |
| Graphics | Adreno GPU; Qualcomm lists Snapdragon Elite Gaming features including hardware-accelerated ray tracing. | Immortalis-G925 graphics, with gaming features described in MediaTek’s product materials. |
| Memory and storage support | LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.0 storage. | LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4 with MCQ. |
| Connectivity listed | Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 and a Snapdragon 5G Modem-RF System. | Wi-Fi 7 and 5G platform features. |
These are platform capabilities, not a guarantee that every phone will include or enable every feature. The handset maker chooses the actual memory and storage configuration, and availability of connectivity features may vary by phone and market. Qualcomm’s specifications are on its Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 product page; MediaTek’s are on its Dimensity 9500s product page.

Benchmark scores: what the published numbers show
91mobiles reports the following scores on its comparison page, accessed October 7, 2026. The page lists 85 Dimensity 9500s and 457 Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 AnTuTu 11 samples, so the sample counts are unequal.
| Benchmark | Dimensity 9500s | Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 |
|---|---|---|
| AnTuTu 11 | 3,022,675 (91mobiles comparison) | 2,366,913 (91mobiles comparison) |
| Geekbench single-core / multi-core | 2,673 / 8,483 (91mobiles comparison) | 2,197 / 7,123 (91mobiles comparison) |
These are reported comparison-page values, not scores from a documented same-phone, same-conditions laboratory test. Benchmark outcomes can vary with handset cooling, power limits, software and test version. Treat the results as a reason to investigate the specific phone, not as a guaranteed percentage advantage. Do not compare these AnTuTu 11 figures with AnTuTu 12 or Geekbench results from a different version as though they were directly interchangeable. The figures and sample counts are from 91mobiles’ comparison.
Gaming, heat and battery life depend on the phone
The specification lists point to capable graphics hardware on both platforms, but they do not answer which phone will maintain higher frame rates in a particular game. Cooling design, sustained power limits, firmware and the game’s optimization all influence performance after a phone heats up. The cited comparison does not establish matched sustained-gaming, temperature or battery results.

Battery capacity, display, modem use, software and handset tuning are also relevant.

Keep Qualcomm’s improvement claims in context
Qualcomm says the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 improves CPU performance by 31% and GPU performance by up to 49% relative to the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. These are Qualcomm’s comparisons with the preceding 8s-generation platform, not with the Dimensity 9500s. Qualcomm also notes that results vary with OEM implementation and other factors. The figures therefore cannot be used as a direct score comparison between the two chips in this article; see Qualcomm’s product page.
Which phone should you buy?
Choose between actual handsets rather than buying on processor name alone. 91mobiles lists the POCO X8 Pro Max and OPPO Find X9s as example Dimensity 9500s phones, and the OnePlus Nord 6 as an example Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 phone. Treat those as examples, not a guarantee of current availability or configuration: verify the listing, chipset, memory and storage for your region before making a decision. The models appear in 91mobiles’ comparison.
- For gaming, look for sustained frame-rate and temperature tests of the exact phone in the games you play, not just a short benchmark run.
- For performance evidence, compare results from the same benchmark version and, ideally, the same review methodology across the specific handsets.
- For everyday value, weigh battery life, charging, display, cameras, software support and storage alongside the processor.
- Before paying, check local price, stock, warranty and regional network compatibility.
On the evidence available here, the Dimensity 9500s is ahead in the cited benchmark table, while the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 remains a capable platform with support for features such as Wi-Fi 7 and hardware-accelerated ray tracing. There is no established controlled head-to-head result here for sustained gaming or battery life, so the best choice depends on the phone implementation and your priorities.
