Apple’s A19 Pro leads the reported Geekbench 6 results, while a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phone edges it in one cited graphics test. Those are phone-level results, not a controlled comparison of the chips alone: cooling, power limits, firmware, operating system and benchmark version can all affect scores. The practical answer depends on the workload—and on the specific phones being compared.
What the benchmark results show
The clearest same-review comparison in the available figures is between the iPhone 17 Pro, which uses A19 Pro, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra, identified in the review as using Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Tom’s Guide reported these results in 2025:
| Test | iPhone 17 Pro (A19 Pro) | Galaxy S25 Ultra (Snapdragon 8 Gen 3) | What it suggests |
|---|---|---|---|
| Geekbench 6 single-core | 3,834 | 3,031 | A19 Pro phone scored higher |
| Geekbench 6 multi-core | 9,988 | 9,829 | A19 Pro phone scored slightly higher |
| 3DMark Wild Life Unlimited | 158.37 fps | 161.66 fps | Snapdragon phone scored slightly higher |
These results are useful because the same review reported both phones’ scores, but they do not isolate the processors. The phones have different chassis, cooling systems, software and power behavior, among other differences. Geekbench 6 favors the iPhone in this pair; the cited Wild Life Unlimited run favors the Galaxy by a small margin.

Aggregated Geekbench 6 results
NanoReview’s comparison page, accessed October 7, 2026, listed an aggregate of 2,203 single-core and 6,511 multi-core for Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, based on 139 tests. For A19 Pro, it listed 3,970 single-core and 10,558 multi-core, based on 16 tests. These are database snapshots with different sample counts, not another matched run of the two phones in Tom’s Guide.

Geekbench scores can vary across devices and runs. Primate Labs describes Geekbench as a cross-platform benchmark, but the score still belongs to a particular device, software state and benchmark version—not to a chip in isolation. See Primate Labs’ Geekbench Mobile Benchmarks.
AnTuTu totals need extra caution
NanoReview listed AnTuTu 11 totals of 2,345,563 for Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and 2,538,751 for A19 Pro when accessed October 7, 2026. It cautions that Android and iOS AnTuTu results are not directly comparable, so the apparent difference should not be read as a clean cross-platform winner.

Everyday CPU work
Geekbench 6’s single-core results in Tom’s Guide’s phone comparison favor the iPhone 17 Pro, while its multi-core results are much closer. That supports a narrow conclusion about those tested phones and that benchmark: A19 Pro’s iPhone scored higher in both reported CPU measures. It does not establish that every A19 Pro device will outperform every Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 device in every app.

Graphics workloads
In the cited 3DMark Wild Life Unlimited test, the Galaxy S25 Ultra recorded 161.66 fps versus 158.37 fps for the iPhone 17 Pro. That is a result for this named graphics workload, not proof of a general GPU advantage in all games. Game engines, graphics settings, frame-rate limits, driver or operating-system behavior, and sustained heat can change what a player sees.
Sustained speed, heat and battery life
The available figures do not provide a matched sustained-performance or battery test for these phones. A short benchmark score cannot show whether a phone holds the same performance during a long gaming session, how warm it gets, or how much battery that workload consumes. Those outcomes depend on the complete device and test conditions, so the listed synthetic scores alone cannot establish which chip is more efficient or which phone lasts longer.

Platform features and connectivity
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform Product Brief describes a platform built around Kryo CPU, Adreno graphics, Hexagon AI components and an X75 modem-RF system. Qualcomm cautions: “Maximum CPU speed will vary based on platform version. Consult OEM specifications for device CPU speed.” That means a frequency or feature claim should be checked against the specifications of the particular handset rather than treated as universal. A19 Pro and the phone experience
The evidence here identifies A19 Pro in the reviewed iPhone 17 Pro, but does not provide an equivalent detailed platform brief for A19 Pro’s AI or modem capabilities. A benchmark score cannot answer which operating system, apps, services or ecosystem will suit you better. For a purchase decision, compare the actual phone models and the software experience you want, not only their SoC names.
How to make a fair comparison
- Compare the same benchmark version and workload, and identify the exact phone tested.
- Keep results from one review together; do not treat database aggregates as matched lab runs.
- For gaming or demanding workloads, look for long-duration testing alongside peak scores.
- Use device-specific battery tests for battery decisions rather than inferring efficiency from CPU or GPU scores.
- Check the phone maker’s specifications for clock speeds and platform features, since implementation can vary.
For this comparison, the defensible short verdict is that A19 Pro’s iPhone leads the cited Geekbench 6 CPU results, while Snapdragon 8 Gen 3’s Galaxy narrowly leads the cited Wild Life Unlimited result. Neither comparison proves a universal chip-only ranking.
