Snapdragon 8 Elite is faster in the published benchmark comparison, leading the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 in overall AnTuTu, Geekbench 6 CPU, and graphics tests. The 8s Gen 4 is still a premium-tier chip with modern features, but the scores come from different phones—not a controlled test isolating the processors—so treat them as results for those specific phone configurations.
One naming clarification: Qualcomm calls its flagship chip Snapdragon 8 Elite, not Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. Qualcomm says it chose “Elite” because the name better represented the platform’s scope and performance positioning.
How much faster is Snapdragon 8 Elite in the published tests?
Beebom Gadgets published the comparison on July 29, 2025, using an iQOO Neo 10 with Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 and a Realme GT 7 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Elite. The Elite scored higher in the listed peak benchmarks, with the largest gaps in graphics tests. These are measurements of the tested phones, not guarantees for every handset using either chip; cooling, firmware, memory, and power settings can all influence results. | Speedometer 3.0 | 12.5 | 21.4 |
The Wild Life Extreme stability and CPU-throttling figures need context. In those particular tests, the 8s Gen 4 retained a higher percentage of its own peak result. That does not make it faster in sustained absolute performance: the Elite still had the higher best-loop result in Wild Life Extreme, and the retention percentages describe different tests. Peak scores, stability percentages, and browser results should not be combined into one ranking.

What do the specifications say?
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 Product Brief lists a 4 nm platform with a Kryo CPU, Adreno GPU, and Hexagon NPU. It supports UFS 4.0 storage, USB 3.1 Gen 2, and on-device displays up to WQHD+ at 144 Hz. Qualcomm also lists ray tracing with global illumination, Vulkan 1.3 support, and video decode up to 4K at 60 FPS.
Those are platform capabilities, not a promise that every 8s Gen 4 phone includes every feature. The handset maker’s implementation—and, for display capabilities, the actual panel—determines what a particular model offers.

Qualcomm describes Snapdragon 8 Elite as using its second-generation Oryon CPU and Adreno GPU, built on 3 nm technology. Its explanation of the name says that “Snapdragon 8 Gen 4” did not fully capture the scope of the platform. This is Qualcomm’s product positioning; the head-to-head benchmark results above provide a separate, device-level comparison. Qualcomm’s explanation of Snapdragon 8 Elite’s name.

Gaming and graphics-heavy workloads
The Elite’s substantially higher results in Beebom’s 3DMark graphics tests point to more peak graphics performance in the tested Realme GT 7 Pro configuration. For sustained gaming, however, a peak score is only part of the picture. Check repeated or stress-test results, temperatures, and the specific phone’s cooling design; the higher Wild Life Extreme stability percentage for the 8s Gen 4 does not erase the Elite’s higher scores in that run.

Apps, browsing, and multitasking
The Elite also led in the reported Geekbench CPU scores and Speedometer 3.0 browser test. These tests can help indicate responsiveness in their respective workloads, but they do not predict how every app will behave. Software, storage and memory configuration, and the phone’s power settings affect the experience.
Battery life, cameras, and software support
A chipset comparison cannot establish which phone lasts longer, takes better photos, receives updates for longer, or offers better value. Those are handset-level decisions, so compare the exact models rather than treating the processor as a proxy for the whole phone.

Quick Recap
- Match the exact handset and regional variant. A phone name can cover versions with different configurations or availability.
- Check memory and storage configuration. Benchmark results and day-to-day behavior can differ across configurations.
- Assess cooling and sustained performance. If you play demanding games, prioritize repeated or stress-test GPU results and temperatures alongside peak scores.
- Compare the display and battery as implemented. The chipset’s supported display capabilities do not tell you the panel resolution, refresh rate, or battery capacity of a particular phone.
- Include software, price, and support. Compare the current offer and update policy for the models you can actually buy in your region.
