Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 is the stronger platform on the specifications and aggregate benchmark results available: it adds 5G, uses a listed 4 nm process, and has higher reported Geekbench 6 and AnTuTu 11 scores. Snapdragon 665 is an older LTE platform with an 11 nm process. These are chipset-level comparisons, not guarantees about how two finished phones will perform.
Specifications at a glance
| Specification | Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 | Snapdragon 665 |
|---|---|---|
| Manufacturing process | 4 nm, according to Qualcomm’s product brief | 11 nm, according to Qualcomm’s product page |
| CPU | 64-bit Kryo; two performance cores up to 2.3 GHz and six efficiency cores up to 2 GHz. Qualcomm also notes a 2.4 GHz version. | Kryo 260 octa-core, up to 2 GHz; four performance and four efficiency cores. |
| GPU | Adreno GPU; the product brief lists API support including Vulkan 1.1. | Adreno 610. |
| Cellular modem | Snapdragon X61 5G; sub-6 GHz, with platform maximums of 2.5 Gbps downlink and 900 Mbps uplink. | Snapdragon X12 LTE; platform maximum downlink of 600 Mbps. |
| Storage support | UFS 3.1, 2-lane support listed. | An equivalent storage standard is not stated on the reviewed Qualcomm product page. |
| Display support | Up to FHD+ at 120 Hz listed. | Not specified on the reviewed Qualcomm product page. |
| Quick Charge | Quick Charge 4+ listed. | Quick Charge 3.0 listed. |
Specifications are platform capabilities, not a promise that every phone using the chip includes those features. In particular, modem maximums are not typical real-world speeds, and a phone’s storage, display, charging, and supported cellular bands depend on its manufacturer and market.

Which chipset is faster?
NanoReview’s chipset pages report higher aggregate benchmark scores for Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 in the listed tests. The results below are aggregator figures collected across devices, not measurements from two otherwise identical phones.
Recommended Free Tools
| Benchmark | Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 | Snapdragon 665 |
|---|---|---|
| Geekbench 6 single-core | 915 | 321 |
| Geekbench 6 multi-core | 2,115 | 1,128 |
| AnTuTu 11 total | 568,395 | 329,457 |
Scores are reported by NanoReview’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 page and NanoReview’s Snapdragon 665 page. The pages do not establish one shared test protocol for both chips. Benchmark version, phone cooling, memory, software, and the tested device samples can all affect results, so these figures suggest a performance advantage but do not predict the exact gap between specific phones.

What the differences mean in practice
5G connectivity
Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 has the clearest advantage if 5G is important: Qualcomm lists its X61 5G modem, while the Snapdragon 665 page lists an X12 LTE modem. Actual 5G availability and performance depend on the phone’s supported bands, carrier, location, and network conditions.
CPU and everyday performance
The 4 Gen 2 has a newer listed CPU arrangement and higher peak clock for its performance cores. That, along with the higher NanoReview-reported benchmark results, points to the 4 Gen 2 as the more capable option in this comparison. A phone’s RAM, software, cooling, and workload still shape how responsive it feels, especially during sustained use.
Gaming and graphics
Qualcomm’s product pages do not provide a directly comparable gaming score for these processors. The 4 Gen 2’s higher overall benchmark results are not enough to quantify a GPU uplift or predict frame rates. Game performance depends on the specific phone, graphics settings, thermals, and game optimization.
Battery life and charging
Qualcomm lists a smaller process node for the 4 Gen 2, but process size alone does not establish which phone lasts longer. Battery capacity, screen, modem use, software, and device tuning matter. The listed Quick Charge versions also do not determine charging time by themselves; the phone, charger, and implementation affect the result.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which one should you choose?
- Choose a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 phone if you want 5G or are choosing between otherwise similar devices and prioritize the newer platform and stronger aggregate benchmark results.
- Consider a Snapdragon 665 phone if its overall device package better suits your needs or budget and LTE is sufficient. The chipset comparison alone does not establish whether an individual 665 phone is a better purchase.
For example, NanoReview lists the Xiaomi Redmi 13 5G among phones using Snapdragon 4 Gen 2. Confirm the exact regional model before buying: similarly named phone variants may use different hardware.
Compare the actual phones before buying
A processor name cannot settle a phone-versus-phone decision. Check these details for the exact models and market you are considering:
- Price and regional availability.
- RAM and storage configuration, including the storage standard the manufacturer specifies.
- Display resolution and refresh rate.
- Battery capacity and independent endurance results, if available.
- Charging hardware and included charger.
- Sustained gaming performance and thermal behavior.
- Supported 5G or LTE bands for your carrier.
- Software support and update policy.
- Benchmark results from the same benchmark version on comparable phones.
What the specifications and benchmarks establish
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 brief and Snapdragon 665 page establish the listed platform features. NanoReview’s chipset pages provide the aggregate scores, but the available sources do not provide an official Qualcomm head-to-head benchmark or a controlled matched-phone comparison. Qualcomm’s claim that the 4 Gen 2 offers “up to 10% better performance” compares it with Snapdragon 4 Gen 1, not Snapdragon 665, so it should not be used as a figure for this matchup.
