Smart ring battery life depends on the exact model and size, its settings and features, how you use it, and the battery’s age. Manufacturer figures are estimates under unspecified or limited conditions—not guarantees for every owner. To extend runtime, follow your ring maker’s charging and storage guidance; recommendations for one brand should not be assumed to apply to another.
How long does a smart ring last on one charge?
Published estimates differ by model, and the figures below come from manufacturers rather than a controlled, independent comparison. The sources do not establish an apples-to-apples test across brands, sizes, settings, and battery ages.

“Up to” and range figures are not promises of typical results. Battery age, enabled features, use, and size can affect what an owner gets. Samsung gives battery-capacity examples of 18 mAh for size 5 and 23.5 mAh for size 13; those capacities are not runtime figures.

What affects smart ring battery life?
Model, size, and battery age
Different rings—and different sizes of the same model—can have different battery capacities. Rechargeable batteries also lose capacity with use and time. Oura says its ring batteries are non-replaceable and describes rechargeable batteries as consumables whose capacity and performance gradually decline. Settings, features, and usage
Feature configuration and activity can affect runtime, but the cited manufacturer guidance does not quantify a universal drain for individual features. A setting that matters on one ring may have a different effect—or no published effect—on another. Check your model’s documentation before disabling a feature you rely on.
App syncing
Frequent app checks are not established as a major source of battery drain across smart rings. Oura says Bluetooth is active for well below 1% of each day on its ring; that is a product-specific figure, not a rule for other brands. RingConn says it has not published evidence that routine app checking causes major drain. Avoid blaming ordinary syncing for a sudden drop without checking other possible causes. Temperature
Extreme temperatures can harm battery health. Oura warns that extended exposure below −20°C (−4°F) or above 60°C (140°F) may damage its ring battery. Treat those as Oura’s guidance, not a universal safe range for other rings; follow the limits for your own model. Oura Product Safety & Use

How to make a smart ring last longer between charges
Start with the instructions for your exact ring and generation. The percentage targets below are Oura’s recommendations; do not transfer them to another brand without that maker’s guidance.
Oura-specific charging and firmware steps
- Keep the Oura app and ring firmware up to date. Oura says firmware updates can improve battery performance. The ring needs more than 30% charge to update; Oura suggests completing two charge cycles after an update.
- Oura says lithium-polymer batteries perform best between 25% and 80% charge. Short top-ups during low-activity periods are acceptable.
- If sleep insights matter to you, charge the ring above 30% before bed, as Oura recommends.

Storing an Oura ring
For storage longer than two weeks, Oura recommends charging above 50% and enabling Power Saving Mode. Its guide also advises against leaving the ring on a charger for more than a week or charging it for extended periods once full. Use the storage instructions from the relevant manufacturer for any other ring.

Why a charging case does not equal ring runtime
A ring’s single-charge runtime is different from the number of additional charges a case can store. A case may recharge a ring while away from an outlet, but that does not make the ring itself last longer on one charge. Samsung’s stated Galaxy Ring figure is up to seven days, while its support page separately specifies an 80-minute full charge using the charging case. What to check if battery life suddenly drops
- Verify the reading after syncing. Open the companion app and let it sync, then check the displayed battery level again.
- Review recent changes. Consider whether you enabled a feature, changed settings, or installed a firmware update around the time the drop began.
- Inspect charging. Check that the ring aligns correctly with its charger and look for visible wear or damage to the charger.
- Consider temperature exposure. Note whether the ring has spent extended time in unusually hot or cold conditions.
- Contact the manufacturer if the problem persists. Do so promptly if the ring becomes abnormally hot or shows physical damage; do not treat a persistent decline as a setting issue without checking with support.

Runtime and long-term battery health are different
Runtime describes how long a charge lasts today; battery health concerns how much capacity remains after months or years of charging and use. A ring that once lasted several days may gradually need charging sooner as its rechargeable battery ages. Oura explicitly says its ring battery is non-replaceable, but the available manufacturer information does not establish a universal replacement policy for smart rings. Check your own maker’s support and warranty terms if reduced runtime persists.
